It is a fantastic game. As long as it is a decent port, I would highly recommend picking it up.

Great to see. I do get some NiGHTS vibes from Rodea, which is always welcomed.

Sometimes there are benefits being a PAL gamer.

Entered. I'm actually very curious of this game, as I used to watch Beyblade a lot as a child (I have a small collection somewhere at home)

I presume Wii U figures are low considering those new bundles (+ Wii Party U) were released yesterday. Will be interesting to see what impact they have on next weeks sales.

It will be interesting to see what sales level Vita ends up stabilising at this time.

Can't believe that they didn't revise their Wii U sales figures target. It looks like Iwata is going all in. It will be interesting to see what his next move is when they inevitably fail to reach their goal.

Been rounding out my Wii collection of late, the cheap prices are quite enticing;
Sakura Wars: So Long My Love, seems to be becoming a rarity in PAL territories.
Little Kings Story: Have heard a lot of good things about this game, very eager to try it out
Red Steel 2: I have a love/hate relationship with the first Red Steel, was unable to pass on this game when I found it for $5 used.

Poor Australia doesn't count as a region anymore? :(

F Zero GX bombed due to Nintendo's great idea of releasing all their racing games (Kirby's Air ride, Double Dash and F Zero GX) within 6 months of each other. Imagine if Nintendo bought Rare, we probably would have seen Donkey Kong Racing in that same period as well.

Finally. I've been waiting for this game since the US release.

So the digital laws of Germany apply to the entirety of Europe?

It's because NoE is based in Germany. Their servers are probably also based in Germany so they have to abide by local laws. They'd have to move their servers to another European country to avoid this problem.

That's pretty low for Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, no?

Not at all. I believe the two DS ones had a similar first week combined and ended up selling over 1 million combined. They tend to have very long legs.

Two months is a long time in the gaming world, especially when games like these tend to have front-loaded sales. I remember a few GameCube games that didn't sell because they came out about two months after the other versions.

I think it's more that 2K haven't jumped aboard the Wii U yet. They think it's going to be another casual gaming machine like the Wii. They seem to be taking a wait and see approach before supporting the platform

Well there was that rumour that Nintendo cancelled Eternal Darkness 2 around E3.

ED will probably find a home with Mach Rider,Ice climbers and Star Tropics in Nintendo's vault.

Well this confirms my intentions of getting this. I'm still disappointed that us PAL gamers have to wait until next year, would have been a great launch game.

Where's my PAL release?

Delayed until December isn't that bad. It would be worse if it wasn't coming until 2013.

They had me at "Nintendo."

Same here. Patcher's right for once, Nintendo could release a card board box with "Nintendo" written on it and i'd probably buy it.

Any idea if the first 2 are still available? I've been meaning to pick up the Johto one for awhile now.

That's been there since E3. They also had the Wii U at $600 AUD for ages. Great that you can preorder a game that might not even exist yet.

« on: November 10, 2012, 02:20:23 PM »
I'm not trying to be negative but this comes across as fanboy drivel. You're ignoring that the last two Paper Mario iterations have strayed from the usual formula in attempts to innovate while the three M&L games are very similar to each other. I don't really see the need to claim that one series is better than the other, they both bring different things to the table. Why can't we just enjoy both? Both have great humour, interesting stories and usually satisfying gameplay. Both Alpha Dream and Intelligent Systems are top tiered Nintendo developers. Maybe I just don't see people's constant need to say one thing is better than another.

I wonder what caused the bump in 3DS systems when there wasn't really anything released that week.

Monster Hunter bundle was released. Probably also why Monster Hunter reappeared on the chart. Plus people are probably buying a 3DS since Animal Crossing launched yesterday. The bump is still interesting considering people are expecting 3DS sales to almost double this week due to Animal Crossing.

How about instead of just a franchise, Nintendo buys a whole company with several popular franchises for less than the cost of making a game!?

THQ only worth about $10M
https://www.google.com/finance?client=ob&q=NASDAQ:THQI

Maybe we can do a kickstarter to purchase THQ?

It would cost much more than $10 million. If you bought THQ you would also buy their 100+ million debt. It would be much cheaper to wait for them to implode and pick up pieces of IP and studios, like Warner did to Midway.

Plus I believe THQ is only worth around 7.5 million today. Their stock is in free fall after their stockholder meeting and regarding Kytim's idea of discarding the unprofitable parts of THQ that's already been done. They sold their UFC licence to EA and ditched all of their licensed casual games and the U draw. Darksiders 2 was basically their last throw of the dice, the only studios and game in development left are the ones that could potentially make them money. Having to delay their 3 games in development to the 2014 financial year has screwed them. I'd be surprised if they manage to limp into 2013 still alive.

No, if there is a developer out there that needs desperately to buy up TH*Q it is SEGA, not Nintendo.

SEGA is in such dire financial straits that someone will eventually buy them out (again) if you want to see their IPs live on.

Sega Sammy is fine financially. The Sammy part can sustain losses incurred by the SEGA wing for years. The restructuring this year is solely to make Sega profitable again, it's not like Sega Sammy is going to go bankrupt anytime soon like THQ. Anyway Sega's financials are up this quarter so the restructuring has seemed to work.

Super Wii is what it would have been called if we were still in the 1990s.

I'd be down for "Wii 64" though.

I'm liking the look of it. Looks like a fun launch title. I've seen it for $40 AUD online so i'll bite.
