Nintendo Gaming / RE:Cheap development costs=more games
« on: May 06, 2006, 11:37:52 AM »
you're definately right about not all the games being great, but with more games being released at least some of those games should be decent. at least there might not be some periods like the gamecube had where there were no games being released, good or bad.

i went and had a look at those stills taken from the sadness trailer.....i'm not really sure what to think of them. they dont really look like gameplay, but i guess it gives you an idea of the atmosphere the game is going for.

Nintendo Gaming / Cheap development costs=more games

gamespot has an article up with a few quotes from THQ president and CEO Brian Farrell, where he mentions how easy wii is too develop for and how cheap the development costs are compared to ps3 and xbox360.  He says that development costs are almost one quarter to a half of the other consoles. i would expect that with costs like that, it will be a give in for third partys to give better support to wii then they did the gamecube(which already apperas to be the case).

maybe nintendos strategy will pay off?

The DS lite will be coming out on June 11, for a price of $149. polar white being the only color available.

i'm a little dissapointed with namcos support of wii too. i would expect that most companies save a few suprises though, so maybe there will be something announced at the show itself.

i'm guessing when they say first wii screenshot, they mean for this game.

good thing it looks like fmv.

i'm not going to even comment on that other picture.

neo geo games would definately be great, and to me seems like a very good possibility. snk has a crapload of titles that never had a huge audience becouse of their high prices, and the virtual console would be a great way to find a new market for them.

i guess i'm not the only star trek fan here.

some of the newer ships would have been nice, but i guess i just like the characters from the original series better. maybe it has something to do with my parents naming me Kirk.....and pretty much every single person you ever meet saying "Captain Kirk"(and all my close friends now call me Cap becouse of it)!

anyways, good to see i'm not the only one intersted in it.

will we be able to see the ball without the game being in HD?

seriously though its good news that ea is taking their biggest title and making a version of it for wii that couldnt be done anywhere else. if it turns out good it could sell some consoles.

finally a star trek game for a nintendo console, and even better its based around the original series! I've waited a long time for a star trek game....its too bad the screenshots look so crappy. i know the ds is capable of more than that. i'm thinking the game will make extensive use of the touch screen though.

if this version of madden turns out good, thats a huge selling point right there there for....wii. it still amazes me how many copies ea manages to sell of that game.

it appears that your store isnt the only one.....

i wonder what they will use to fill all that shelf space? i heard that the psp plays games....i think its just a rumour though.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Tecmo's first game revealed (online anime-style golf)
« on: February 15, 2006, 03:08:39 PM »
it seems that tecmo isnt actually just publishing this title. from an article at gamespot:

"The company's first project will be a Revolution version of Korean publisher Ntreev Soft's Pangya golf series, which will be codeveloped by the two companies"

a good golf simulator could definately sell some revolutions. it seems like those virtual golf centres are getting pretty popular, as real golf gets more and more expensive to play.

the wal-mart in my area cut geists price down to $20(canadian) a long time ago......they still cant seem to sell the game.

looking at some of the prices for the 360's games, i cant understand how people can keep buying games. the high prices will eventually cut into game sales in my opinion, and developers will have to change their pricing and/or game budgets. its only a matter of time.
