And?  Some of us like that sort of game, I'm looking forward to Atlus bringing this to the West.

I got the impression, from watching the conference demo of TP, that Navi could be used to select the "d-pad" buttons on screen rather than having to use the d-pad itself; was that not the case in the demo you got to play on the show floor, or did you not try that option?  Either way, I'm getting a Wii and Zelda for it, it's a new way to play and I'll take the time to learn rather than be fixed on playing the same way as I did on the GC.

According to IGN, the console versions have not been canned, it's just Activision have decided against publishing them.  Lionhead have said they will now look for a publisher for the console versions.

So, nobody finding it suspicious that these sources have only been able to supply Joystiq with "screen grabs", rather than a URL link to the actual survey?

Did you try possessing it, though?  From what I've read you can possess almost anything and it presents you with a viewpoint relating to that object, so I'm kind of wondering, would you suddenly find yourself presented with Samus' helmet HUD?

It reminds me more of Choplifter, to be honest, though more of the attacking role rather than the rescuing.

OK, anyone got any idea what the extra round plug is on the DS power adaptors?  The one is obviously a GBA SP type and the pics I've seen of the DS show the same socket on that, so what on earth is the extra plug for?

It is looking almost certainly to be the Mic port for a headset rig, from a Cube-Europe forums post:

and corresponding to the number 24 in the DS-manual:
24. Headphone / MIC. Connector

sorry to spoil the fun mate

TalkBack / RE:Details on Midway Arcade Treasures 2
« on: August 04, 2004, 07:36:56 AM »
Whilst I'm not a fan of the MK games myself, a lot of my friends were planning to get this one thanks to having the set of MK 1-3 on it.  When I read the news I thought I'd drop a line to Midway:

Subject: Midway Arcade Treasures 2

Hi

it's been noted in recent announcements that the original Mortal Kombat has been removed (along with several other games which had much greater interest levels than those that they have been replaced with) from Midway Arcade Treasures 2.  The assumption is that this has been done because it has been included as a bonus with Mortal Kombat: Deception, there is one problem with this, though.  The Gamecube is not getting a version of Mortal Kombat: Deception.  Are there plans to still include Mortal Kombat on the Gamecube version of Midway Arcade Treasures 2, or are fans of the series to be deprived of experiencing a decent conversion of the original arcade game?

Yours

Adam Gurney

If I get a useful reply back I'll let you know what they said.

TalkBack / RE:Datel To Release Memory Cards Soon

It's nice to see there's going to be more manufacturers like Datel and Nintendo themselves releasing 1000 block or more memory cards, because for many of the more hardcore GC fans, 59 or 251 blocks just isn't enough.

Just like to point out, the Interact Mega Memory 16X card was made by Datel in the first place.  I've been using one since they came out and I've never lost any files, it has the same capacity as the 1024 Memory Card that Nintendo are just about to release.  This new card is twice the size of the previous Mega Memory.

The reason most 3rd party memory cards fail is because they use smaller memory chips and compression routines to achieve their claimed capacity; Datel, on the other hand, always use full size memory chips without compression.  Quite simply, other 3rd party card makers are trying to screw you out of every penny they can make in profit, whereas Datel are commited to providing a reliable and reasonably priced product.  No, I don't work for Datel, I just know that they're someone you can rely on.

Well, it would be OK if it was "one of a kind", but CUBE magazine is giving one away exactly the same, in this months issue (No. 28).

One slight mistake in the news story, the Stars Catalogue is being taken down on the 25th of August and will then slowly be brought back online after that, it isn't going to be ready for the 25th!

*Wonders what to do with 7000 Stars*

Would just like to point out, Europe as a whole is now considered to be the second biggest videogame market in teh world, with Japan in third place.  If you seperate out the UK by itself, it becomes USA first, Japan second, UK third, Rest of Europe fourth.

Well, as to the comment about us crazy Brits:

1. Ubisoft is a French company, although they do have UK offices.

2. Most other Brits who have seen this newspiece, on other sites, have all said, "Huh? 2/3 days before it goes on full release?  That's useless!", or similar statements.

So, please don't generalize about us because of one company's actions.  We're crazy enough, already.

TalkBack / Game Boy Player in Europe
« on: May 21, 2003, 06:50:06 AM »
Where is this info from?  As an existing signed up member of Nintendo Europe, whenever I try to go to www.nintendo-europe.com, I get taken to the UK/Ireland regional page.  The only news story about the GB player simply talks about the bundle and its pricing, nothing about it as a standalone, or mention of this pricing offer.  If there is a specific web page with these details on, could that link be posted, rather than just saying go to the main site?
