madden 2004 takes up 185 blocks to save your franchise. you've also got 27 blocks for the EA Sports Bio (which is a great addition) 2 blocks for each user profile, and 3 blocks to save custom settings.

hey Johnny Wonderpants, I just recently got into Opeth. they did a cover of Celtic Frost's "Circle Of The Tyrants" I just picked up "Damnation" and I'll be seeing them on tour in DC on 7.21. the new album is definitely one of the best I've heard so far this year. right behind the new Type O Negative album "Life Is Killing Me" Type O rules!!!

General Chat / A tribute to Nirvana

nirvana didn't even start the "grunge" movement. there were plenty of other seattle bands like soundgarden, alice in chains, pearl jam, and mother lovebone, who were already making music.  nirvana just caught a break b/c mtv thought "teen spirit" was a catchy tune.

Nirvana was a great band, but not one of the greatest of all time, tho it's all a matter of opinion. my fave album was in utero. I really liked songs like "scentless apprentice" "very ape" "heart-shaped box" "farmer frances" I liked the first Foo Fighters album but their follow-up efforts, I'm indifferent towards.

General Chat / New Metallica Album: St. Anger
« on: June 22, 2003, 08:31:57 AM »
St. Anger stinks! I've listened to it a handful of times, and I'm having trouble picking out any songs that are memorable. this album might be their best in a decade, but that's not saying much. it isn't even as good as the black album. the best reason to pick this one up is to get the access code to the audio vault, so u can d/l all their live mp3s. if St. Anger sounded as good as the last slayer album, I'd have no gripes. metallica should quit while they're ahead, and avoid tarnishing whatever is left of their once-proud legacy.

if we are talking about the best metal bands of all-time, u hafta mention bands like slayer (reign in blood still the best metal album of all time!!!) and cannibal corpse. in fact, I don't think anyone in the history of mankind has a more heavy and cosistent sound than those sick f***s in cannibal corpse yeah, I'm still a metallica fan, but their best days are behind them.

what are u talking about? "So What" is a killer song, how dare u insult the Anti-Nowhere League! just b/c a song doesn't have a guitar solo, doesn't make it a bad song.

was Trip Hawkins at one time the head of EA? I could be wrong, but wasn't he the one who boldly proclaimed during a 1999 interview with the now defunct Next Gen magazine that "Dreamcast would never succeed without support from EA" or something along those lines. the man is a modern-day soothsayer, I tells ya!

Nintendo Gaming / Mainstream Media trys to Cover Video Games.
« on: May 29, 2003, 02:26:04 PM »
I don't want to make it sound like I'm a rabid xbox hater, but all my friends have xbox, and I'm the only one who dissents from their opinion on video games. so instead of getting them to play good games like wind waker and metroid prime, I'm subjected to such rubbish as doa: extreme volleyball, and the worst fighting game currently available on any next gen system, tao feng   blecch!!!
P.S.- not that it matters, but we're all in our mid-20's.

haha, what a friggin' joke that article is. nothing like the misinformed trying to educate the casual gamers out there, kinda like the blind leading the blind. why don't they mention that xbox has ZERO quality original titles on it not named halo.

it is cel-shaded, bu it's more of a hybrid 3rd-person adventure/platformer type game. u can do all kinds of cool stuff like slow down time. deflect bullets, etc. I haven't played the demo, but this is my most-anticipated game for GCN. to borrow the phrase from the ikaruga box "my frothing demand for this game increases" I fear if I should ever play the demo, my head may spontaneously combust due to over-stimulation, I want this game now!!!

it came out yesterday to coincide with the movie, but unfortunately, all the hype and momentum it was building over the last month or so, has been swallowed up by E3. check out some of the reader reviews over at gamespot. it's been getting some favorable scores thusfar.

anyone know if there is a precedent for a team failing to score a goal during the course of a 4-game sweep? if paul kariya stays hot, the ducks might actually be able to win it all. think of all the rioting and looting that would ensue at DisneyLand, oh the humanity!!!

how could u possibly have a def jam game without the one and only, LL Cool J I agree with Ian about the limitations in gameplay. it would've been nice to be able to use someone like DMX or Method Man in the story mode. all that being said, the grapple system is so damn tight, it brings back fond memories of no mercy and wm2k, back in the 64 days *sigh* we'll hafta wait and see what rick has to say about XIX, but for now, def jam vendetta is the best wrestler for cube.

I'm having a similar problem as hostile creation. I was d/l some movies from ign, when all of a sudden an error message pops up and says something to the effect of "could not download the requested plug-in" I don't know if it's a problem with quicktime or maybe with the site, due to all the traffic. I was able to d/l fine this morning, but for the last few hours, no such luck. anyone else having this problem?

deminisma- the last thing I heard from skinny puppy was "back and forth vol. 5 & 6" I have most everything from their discography starting with "bites/remission" thru "the process" my favorite album  is "Vivisect VI" do either of the albums u are talking about contain new material? I saw ohGr about 2 or 3 years ago at a small club in dc, as they were promoting "welt".  u ever hear ogre's side project "ritalin" I think it was an album he did about 4 years ago, the only song I remember was a cover of the 1950's hit, "downtown" very odd to say the least! hey, anybody who wants to chat about music, video games, or whatever, feel free to hit me up on aim, my s/n is ncube2k1. it's cool to finally meet some ppl who share my similar taste in music, peace!
