Pokemon Presents Video To Air On February 27
« on: February 24, 2022, 04:39:07 AM »

The annual reminder of all things Leavanny.

For the second straight year, The Pokemon Company is giving a video presentation on the birthday.

The "Pokemon Day" Pokemon Presents video will air on the unusual day of Sunday (February 27) at 9 a.m. ET / 6 a.m. PT / 1400 CET. According to the Japanese video the presentation will be 14 minutes long.

The 2021 video, tied to the 25th anniversary of the release of Pokemon Red and Green in Japan, announced the Pokemon Brilliant Diamond / Shining Pearl and Legends: Arceus games, though a new game is unlikely given the recent shipment of the latter game.

Will be interesting to see what they announce.  With Legends just coming out, I doubt they'd announce a new gen just yet, that's probably next year.  I could maybe see a new Pokken Fighters being revealed since it's been a while since the Wii U port was released, and there's so many Pokemon they could add.

My predictions are Legends Arceus getting DLC and a new Pokemon Mystery Dungeon remake for the second set of games to tie into the gen 4 nostalgia The Pokémon Company seems to be indulging in atm.

Earlier I was thinking that the current pattern suggests the next generation would release this November, since that will have been three years since the previous gen and the last four gens have all been three years apart. But now I'm thinking that with the success of Legends it's probably delayed that to November 2023, and they'll be announcing Legends DLC for later this year.

There is no way we're getting 3 mainline Pokémon games in a calendar year.

Also, Sword and Shield are still being used for VGC stuff this year so I could see that being updated to accomodate the new Legends Arceus forms so they can be used for the tournament.

LOL, were you just waiting to dunk all over pokepal for that take?

Had I even seen this thread sooner, I probably would have thought the same thing because my sense of time is all jacked up. I thought Sword/Shield released more recently.
