Guess what? I have 30. But I am still one of the oldest. I just haven't been on lately.

Well, this isn't high resolution but it sure beats down the other trailer. Check it out:

General Chat / Can anyone answer my question!

Ok, my brother has a game called counterstrike on our computer, well, for some odd reason he decided he didn't want me to play it anymore.  So he hid the file, he might have renamed it, but i have no idea where it is.  Is there anyway that i can locate the game on my computer.  I have Windows XP, and im pretty sure that there is some sort of trick to figure out where i can find it, so pleaaaase tell me what it is!

There are still few households in the US that have more than one television, and even less that have more than one that are big enough to give a decent gaming experience.

Heh, Rick I really think that is the opposite. I live in a community with mainly middle class, with nearly as many lower class. Anyway, we did a survey on how many TV's are in their homes and about 3% had 1 tv. The rest were mainly 3 or 4. Up to about 8. Seriously, what you are thinking of is how it was in the 70's man. TV's are so widespread, I doubt there ARE few households WITHOUT more then one tv. And now that that is said, it is SO easy to set up. Do you guys have more then 4 friends come over to play? Well then you guys know what I mean! If you don't then I can understand your inacceptance of LAN..... you would obviously like online. Anyway, since I have maybe 5-6 people come over to play GCN usually, and I could get more in my neighborhood, LAN is a MUST for us. One of my friends bought Xbox just so he could do it. Bring over your cube when they release it, hook it up to a distant tv, run wires from one to the other and it is simple. And you guys think it is overrated! Hahahah! It is the most fun gaming experience you can possibly have, LAN. But too many are too lazy to try it. (I even had to force my friends to help me put a sheet across my tv so we could play 2 vs 2 TS2 without seeing each other screens, and they finally agreed it was tons better)

Thanks Rick, you the man! And for now, I have no complaints. You know, since you guys are mainly doing other things at the moment.

I certainly would want LAN play much more then online. It is very easy to set up too, ok so you have to move a tv and one of the friends who come over have to have a GCN with 4 controllers, but thats it. I hope its Mario Kart, that will be the coolest because both my brothers like that game ONLY not other GCN games.

And yet you fail to see MY point. I see them as good, but useless also. However, unlike you, I would like to have them and that is no reason to call anyone stupid over that. And Rick, you know that link you click to see all users online? Well, can you make it so the default list we see is "all" instead of "a"? Because I am thinking that is unecissary to go through an alphabet first.

Frozen, did you read what I said? Yes, you only suggested it would be nice, but it is not needed for this forum to function. Well, thank you for that obvious information. However, like you, I think it would be nice also, and if there is a possibility of getting avatars, I am not going to just lazily sit down and say "Oh well." I want to find out WHY there are no avatars. You find that stupid, but lazyness will get you nowhere, buddy. You can't complain saying it would be nice and saying we are stupid for saying it would be nice as well. Thats just truly idiotic. You need to realize what you are saying before you do say it.

Also, all the complaints about colors, avatars, signatures, ect. are just annoying the crap out of me. Who cares if you get some stupid picture underneith your name or some piddly title saying you've posted more then someone else? Things like that are what makes forums suck. I much prefer the way you guys are doing things now then in the past. You're old forums were slow, cluttered, and filled with stupidity. While the stupidity still remains thanks to certain forumers, at least it's no longer slow and cluttered. While avatars at the very least would be nice (hell, they can be limited to 100x100 pixels and limited to being hosted off the site to keep bandwidth usage down) they dont really matter.

Nice contradiction there. Who cares about avatars? Obviously YOU DO, or else you wouldn't have said they would only be nice to the very least. (Meaning the least they can be is nice, I wonder if you even know what you are saying.) Of course, I am also disappointed to hear you say that we are stupid. So much for having mature "forumers".
Now let me explain this thread to you. They are suggestions for improvements if possible!!! None are complaints. I even tried to explain that a little, even by the topic sentence, but obviously some people just have a hard time understanding.

There is so much cool stuff that we're going to be able to do, you'll hardly beleive it when we start unleashing it on you guys. In fact, it's going to make you guys wonder why you were griping about avatars and titles so much.

Hah, what are you trying to do, start another megaton?

Well... heh... as far as I can see there are a few links on the top of the page to do that for you. Click on HOME as well as FORUMS. Really though, I haven't found any bugs here.... maybe you have a few, none are showing up here though, works fine to me.

I definatly agree with Clonester. What I can say though is that you guys did a great job with the ads, I like how it is integrated in the page now instead of popping up over stuff. And I just noticed GameFaqs, that place does not use avatars and it works fine for some reason. Anyway, it looks good. This place could use a little more color, but other then that I guess its fine. You're right on the title up there, this is the place where your readers go to bitch about everything.

Pictures in signatures will NOT happen. It's a bitch to moderate, and is just entirely unnecessary.

Hard to moderate? Like I said, all you have to do is limit the size of the pic. Make it a really thin banner across the bottom of each post from someone who actually wants to do it. Of course, thats if this board lets you limit that, which I think it does. You guys think its unnecessary huh.... well let me put it someway.... its BORING without them. Here's an example, think of reading a history book without all the cool pictures in them, only text. It might have the same effect, but its a lot easier to see the personality of the poster from his avatar. And it must BE necessary if most of us want it. There is no competition, just a small complaint because we have no indivuality here.

Better graphics and whatnot are coming, it's just going to take a bit. The color scheme, however, is pretty well set (and those actually are shades of purple, believe it or not). It was a matter of improving legibility more than anything. But maybe ... just maybe ... we'll let you guys pick your own scheme later on.

Hehe, yeah that would be pretty cool. I was also wondering about something else, that would take a lot more effort. Is it possible for each day to have a different theme that was already put in? When its 12:00 AM, the theme could change to a MARIO theme or then the next day, be a LINK theme. I don't think its anything needed at all, but it would be cool to have changes in the forum once in a while and I think EZboard let you have the theme change on certain days. Just a cool thought. And.... like EvilMan, I don't understand this whole competition thing and I think you mean that you disabled signitures, not avatars... but well, its your decision. Of course the talking is the main part, we are just finding small improvements that could be made. We can settle fine here, if that were not the case, I wouldn't be talking here! But there isn't ANY chance for you to allow a very THIN banner in the signiture area, you can enforce rules on pic size there as well as you did on avatars, and it would look fine if you allowed it to be wide enough and not too tall to stand out. Just so we can put some pic there. I don't think this would be THAT bad on the bandwidth, considering how many would even use the signitures anyway! It isn't any competition, but I like to see who someone is right away. Just some small things, its very good that you are making new graphics too, thats a great idea.

Hey Rachtman! Ah, so thats how you guys got custom titles... hmm... well I have another thing. Does the messages/day work in the profile section or is it just disabled? I thought you guys didn't like that kinda stuff.

Actually, I had 56k this year. Those pictures did barely anything to reduce the speed the page loaded. PGC had us keep the filesize low, and that helped. Bandwidth is not a problem when rules are enforced. And if they tried to get us avatars beneath our name, they can try to get them in the signiture area limited to 90 by 90 pixels.

Yeah, enough of those topics built around Nintendo's business, we shouldn't care. The games are the center of all and why we came here, so good point.

Alright, first I want to say good job on the forum. The new logo at the top is pretty cool and the layout is excellent. But.... the color is a little bland. You should find some way to use more then a few grays and whites. (And a very rare purple)... second, there has got to be a better way to get our names to stand out! Enlarge them, let us change the colors of our names, allow size restricted signitures (to be avature size), give us all custom titles, ANYTHING! Some of the moderators need to think about this, every board has some way to recognize members of a community more then text. So, thats all I have now.

I definatly think you shouldn't return to the old one, this one looks better. But a few changes can be made, maybe not how I think, but we can find a way somehow. Anyone else have suggestions?

EDIT: Oh, and then there is that "see who's online" thing. Well, we need something quicker. We shouldn't need to go through an alphabet to find who's on, anyway to make the default "all" instead of "A"?
