I do hope everyone has seen this by now.  I was wrong about Tallarico.  So wrong.

eh.  I can see not liking where Toph's character went, but it worked for me.

Blind people might care about style/grooming, but Toph just never seemed that into it.  Remember the episode where they show her feet?  And the episode where she gets dolled up, laughed at, then blows it all off?  Hell, I have the same hat I've been wearing for over twenty years.  I hear they've done some stuff in the comics to kinda bridge the gap between TLA and LOK for Toph, but I've not read them.  I do wonder if they ever touched upon her apparent crush on Sokka.  Between that and how her parents treated her, I could see that as an explanation for the walls she's built around her.

Yeah, in retrospect you're probably right about that. I just don't feel as personally betrayed by Dragon Prince as I do about Korra. Korra is one of the most mean-spirited sequels I've ever seen. It's like the showrunners have an active hatred for Last Airbender and everything people loved about it, considering everyone except Katarra is dead; a miserable failure; hated by their own families; or some combination thereof.

What....?

It's 70 years later?  Of course most of the people from TLA are dead.  And, of course, Aang has to be dead.

Zuko seems highly successful and respected.  We know little about Sokka, but the show does show us a statue of him, indicating he did well.  Katara is obviously loved and doing great (until she dies as foretold in TLA - Again, 70 years later).  Toph... well, her story fits her character well.

I feel like Microsoft will do whatever they think they can make money with.

I feel like Activision has already given up on most of these properties and there's a slightly higher chance Microsoft would re-evaluate  and potentially repurpose.

How about this - instead of Microsoft buying all of Activision outright, Activision puts everything up eBay style, piece mealing it out to the highest bidder.  Obviously, COD would go for big bucks, but maybe a smaller group could pay for one of the smaller IPs and do something with it.  Could be interesting.

80
>resurgence of 1990s PC franchises.

Yes, please.  Activision is happy churning out not much beyond COD sequels.  Gimme a Heretic/Hexen sequel, please.

81
Like... why?

A quick Google search shows Microsoft and Activision's combined 2022 profits to be about what Sony, alone, has done.  No one complains about Nintendo owning hardware and software and they sell insane amounts of things.

And I don't buy the competition argument.  We live in an age were a dude in a garage can make a game from scratch and get it published on multiple platforms, including PC and mobile.  Anyone can compete.

I guess the last Activision game I bought was Skylanders, so it's no big loss to me if they went Microsoft exclusive... so maybe that's why I don't care.

82
>Call of Duty alone makes more money than all of Sony's 1st party studios' games in a given year combined, and by a significant margin.

I mean, okay... but that's a Sony problem?

83
Maybe it's because I just don't care about Activision, but I don't see the big deal.  Microsoft will leverage Activision as an exclusive studio?  Okay?  Every company has their exclusive studios.  If I were Activision and I wanted this deal to go through, I'd just say "Well, we're not going to make any more Playstation games anyway".  I don't think they can be compelled by the legal system to do so?

We got 13 players, but everything kept crashing at 14. :/

We have plans for a round 2.

Let's be clear - regardless of the reasons behind it, Taylor's career as a professional in the industry is pretty much shot.  I don't see a path towards her mending bridges.  Even if the translation errors were on Platinum's side of things, and even if she tried to clarify and was given the incorrect info again... Hell, even if it turns out Platinum is lying and Taylor brings the receipts... The way she went about publically nuking the NDA has destroyed her reputation, legally and professionally, and I doubt she'll ever get that back.

I'd sincerely rather find out one of the two parties is just a big, fat liar so there's someone to hate on rather than it's all the world's stupidest misunderstanding and this individual just blew up everything for nothing. :/

88
So... Like... Hale's version doesn't seem to fit with this new report at all...

....unless.... Could there have been a translation issue?  Japanese $4k/session became English $4k total?  Because that would suck for everyone involved if it were the case.

It'd be neat to compile a video of the farious Mario voices over the years.

I wish they'd... I don't know about re-release, but revisit?  the vs. mode from the Game Boy release of Pac-Man.

Two systems connect together.  One player eats ghosts and they go to the other player's screen.  They could end up with 8 ghosts chasing them - then send them all back.

Sadly, the screen size of the GB port leaves a lot to be desired. The 3DS release did not include multi-player functionality, so this game hasn't seen much of a re-release.

Living on Earth-616 looks like a bad time.

HAVE you SEEN our Earth lately? 🤣

97
That's ridiculous.
Plus, GameStop.com had preorders up two days ago.

https://www.reddit.com/r/amiibo/comments/u7am6d/min_min_amiibo_gamestop/

Although, really, less "preorder" and more "Order" at this point.

Basically, the global situation screwed the pooch on the ability of Nintendo to deliver amiibo on-time, everyone threw a pissy fit, and I think all the US retailers were just like "why do preorders anyway?  they're gonna sell either way."

Okay, so... anyone who is sad about this... go away.

Phil Spencer did an interview and was just brainstorming **** and said...

Quote
“I was looking at the IP list, I mean, let’s go!” Spencer said. “ ‘King’s Quest,’ ‘Guitar Hero,’ … I should know this but I think they got ‘HeXen.’ ”

This series, one of my all-time favorites back in the day, hasn't had acknowledgement of it's existence in almost 25 years.  And Phil's all "Hey, I think we own HeXen now, can we, like, do something with it?"

I contacted Raven Software years ago about just getting a jewel case collection (iD had just released a Doom/Doom 2/Doom 2 Master Levels/Final Doom set) and had a great conversation with what I believe to be one of the og teammates who went into some of the details on how all the rights for Heretic and HeXen were all over the place and a collection would just be unlikely.  And now this Phil guy is just like "Yup, throw it on the list too!"

Two days ago, I was like "meh, whatever" and now I'm like "How hard is it to get one of these newfangled XBoxes anyway?"
