Along with the standard model, a Majoras Mask 3DS XL has been announced as well for a Feb 13 release.

The system will release the same day as The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D releases in North America, as well as the other New 3DS models.

They are releasing a much better version of the 3DS XL FOR THE SAME PRICE and when it doesn't come with a game (just like the 3DS XL doesn't currently come with a game) you whine and cry???
They are a business and need to make money. Besides wouldn't most of you prefer a physical copy anyway.
I'm impressed that they are getting me a system with better hardware for the same price as the old hardware.
I plan on getting this one, and I won't complain about it.


Funny thing is...if they had included a digital copy with the system a bunch of you would complain that it's not a physical copy and a bunch of you would complain that you now have to buy the game twice cause you really want that skull kid statue in the special edition. Now you can get the special edition and the physical copy and the awesome 3DS

I don't claim to know everything, but with all the currency fluctuations and the fact the Europe's game are usually more expensive I try not to compare our prices and value to Europe's or Japan's I just compare it to my other options here.

No price has been announced for the European version, but it's still a better value over the NA version.

Still, that seems stupid not to include the game in the console is modeled after the game. If you have to add an extra $40-$50, then do it because 90% of people who buy this are going to buy it anyways. Who would that hurt aside from people who already pre-ordered the special edition? And besides, they can also play on their regular 3DS if it is such a problem.

I have the Pokémon X/Y 3DS XL.  It did not come with the game.  But I got that model because I was going to buy a 3DS when Pokémon came out and I wanted an XL and this one cost the same amount as the other XL models.  This is the same thing.  If you're getting a New 3DS XL and you're into Zelda then this is an option that costs the same as the others.  If I was to get an New 3DS at launch this is the one I would get simply because I like Zelda and I wouldn't even end up buying Majora's Mask.

At the very least this isn't a new thing.  They've had game specific models before that didn't come with the game and were the same price as the other models.  It's essentially no different than offering a different colour.

That's a damn fine looking New 3DS. I still would have opted for the blue one they got in Japan, but I like this even more than the Link Between World's 3DS.

When the same exact version DOES come with the games in a different region, then yeah, this is a little different. It's not like they released the X/Y 3DS overseas with X/Y.

Or you could just pay me $400 and get yourself a NEW 3DS XL Majora's Mask Edition. Seems like a simple solution to me.
