Thanks for the info Nathan!

@NinSage

I agree that the level designs we have seen so far would not match well with the flying raccoon mechanic we saw in SMB3, where you have to run for a stretch in order to enable the temporary flying mode.

But who's to say there won't be levels designed specifically for that kind of play style? Granted, Nintendo's theme for the game, and what they're emphasizing thus far, is clearly a specific kind of level design, but we haven't seen the full game yet. The game will more than likely have variety.

And we know Nintendo can re-invent Mario's powerups if they feel like it. Maybe this time there's a different way to activate the flying mode.

Of course, this is all speculation!

I guess, in the end, I just hope to see Tanooki Mario fly once again (however brief it may be), for old time's sake.  :cool;

Nice impressions. I love the multi-Kirby concept, it's simply a pleasure to watch.  ;D

 It would seem to get somewhat tiring after extended play though.

 Oh, and yeah, lol at the Mass Effect typo! oops

The inability to fly just boggles my mind. I mean, was that not the first thing that came to your mind when Nintendo teased us at GDC showing the Mario logo and the return of the raccoon tail?

I don't know, maybe there will be some flying levels in there somewhere. I hope so!

My friend and I watched this in the theater when it came out, it was pretty exciting. Good overview of the movie!

I don't post here much but I've been listening to Zach on the podcasts for some time now. I wish you best of luck on a speedy recovery!

Wow, I could not guess any of these games.  :( (But then again I've only really played 1 of them).

I LOVE the music from game 1 Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, I was not expecting that at all! Too bad it's a game I am not really interested in. But... I would buy the soundtrack, or maybe pick the game up for cheap. They need to make a Mario and Sonic platformer, definitely!

Game 2 I actually own. Those songs actually started getting a bit irritating as I was listening. I knew it sounded familiar, but I wasn't sure...

Game 3 has some interesting music, but it's a game I never played. Based on Pedro's description, I may want to check it out!

Game 4's music sounds kind of... bad. That is some really weird composition. Song 1 is actually funny to listen to. This music made my day. Wow, I did not think of NES Boy and his Blob at all! I only played it a long time ago, when I was very young, and I only probably played it once.

Game 5's music sounds really cool. I never played this game either, I just played the original NES Tiny Toons, which I agree with Pedro, is an awesome game.

Pedro, it's always great to hear you discuss the games!

Haha, what a great way to end at the very end of the podcast, good stuff.

It's rare for me to get a Street Pass even when going to a packed movie theater on a Saturday night.

I hope these Street Pass events continue to take off, it's hard to believe there isn't a dedicated Dallas one yet.

I was able to identify Game 1 and 2 only.

Game 1 - I love that game, and when that tribal music hit, I knew what game it was. SFA was a great mix of Fox and Zelda with that Rare polish.

Game 2 - Wow, this game hadn't been used before? I LOVE that Game Boy sound of the original.

Game 3 - Never played the game, and the music wasn't too great.

Game 4 - When that full lyric song hit, I was like WTF? Zach and I both guessed wrong with Silent Hill: Shatter Memories. Oh, I love No More Heroes.

Game 5 - Awesome music! I bought the game but haven't opened it yet.

Jonny, the last segment of your diary really struck a chord with me (and I'm sure with many other gamers as well). That must have been quite the experience being around gamers that share your passion, something uncommon in our everyday lives.

Thanks Shaymin.

Regarding song 5: Yes, the whole Wonder Boy thing is pretty confusing, and how the NES Adventure Island branches off from Wonder Boy on the Sega Master System. It's great that the so many of these games are available on the Wii VC.

I loved Song 3! Well, maybe because I selected it. Thanks TYP for choosing that game!

I got the first three songs, but I totally had no clue about songs 4 and 5.

I enjoyed hearing about song 5 in particular. Before I say anything about it, though... how do I use the spoiler tag?

I got Shy Guy's PM too. So... what is this?

I also enjoyed the game music breaks, they make a nice intro to the next game discussion.
