3 players? Is it like animal crossing in that regard or is it multiple cartridge play?

Azeke, they stopped using buffed cpu attacks as a handicap in brawl, using increased percentages instead. The effects column in the Amiibo data screenshot also shows damage amplifiers which would seem redundant. The upper corner shows a weighted fighting style wheel that affects how that player fights, being fast, offensive, and/or defense.  Since it also has a"feed equipment" button, it seems most likely a leveling mechanism.  Just speculation, but hopefully correct.

It would be interesting to see a tournament dedicated to Amiibo battles. It's like Digimon but with smash.

I think there is one small detail that sets this apart: It's an imaginary friend or pet. The fact that this fp can possibly "learn" means that you could theoretically train a tag partner or throw tournaments using just the fp. The screen showing the Amiibo at level 50 is intriguing enough. The other nfc toys don't have an AI appeal.  If done right, this could be a Smash Brother Nanopet. Definitely worth a shot.

This also means that new players have a fp to grow with.  That's cool in my opinion.

I feel like this is Dragon's Crown Lite 3DS.  Are there any multiplayer features or streetpass?

Nintendo Gaming / Pokemon X/Y Trading Blacklist (GTS Trade Scams)
« on: November 13, 2013, 11:39:59 AM »
Hey Guys,

So, naturally, there are people on the GTS that claim stats on a Pokemon to bait a trade and scam you.  To help with this.  I propose a list of trainers to possibly look out for.  While they may be a one-time offender, seeing their name here means to approach with caution.  Add as you encounter them.

Hey guys:

Not completely sure where to stick this, so here we are.

Are there any players willing to help me breed a perfect foreign Honedge?  In turn, I can breed the foreign one they need to allow for shiny breeding under good circumstances.  Let me know!

I thought I was screwing up GTS!  Good to know that'll be fixed too.  Thanks for the notice.

Deku - Trevenant

Ifrit - Chandalure

Epoch - Driflim

Masa - Pangoro

Mune - Aegislash

Gorz - Gengar

Mainly going for a Ghost Theme.  I started the game with Pancham and Honedge and essentially roleplayed like they were my starters (A cute Emo Panda with a Demon Sword... what's not to like?)  Then added everyone as I came across them.  It has been an extremely rewarding experience with these guys though.  My team is all contained in Premiere Balls too (Except Gengar, but I'm remedying that this week).

I've always thought that the game would be interesting if the main character sought to become a gym leader.  At least that'd make an interesting anime as he/she would learn to adapt to the advantages and disadvantages of the type he likes so much.

SO. I hop on here to see the trolling on the 2DS... to my surprise it's well received (I guess that's a good thing for Nintendo's bottomline). Considering that Nintendo could have made the 3DS form just without the 3D boggles my mind.  The screens are exposed, so ugh.  The whole thing looks like a leapfrog.  And I do not want to be that guy that has a zipper case for my system.  I might as well stand next to that one guy that has a little leather bag for his iphone.

No thank you.

I mean, look at the intro video.  The father can't even believe his son is playing on one.  Now we watch the decline from clam-form.  I'm going to rage at the next handheld looking like a GB Brick. 3DS XL is the way to go.

Unfortunately, there are too many Pokémon spin offs that this could relate to.

I still recommend phantom skinz or skinomi. They produce vinyl designs that guard against scratches and prints without adding bulk.

I hope this works like it should.

When everything is bunched together, it becomes a ranked list of games/announcements.  I think doing the shorter bursts will help separate everything so they're not competing as much for the spotlight.  It's like the prize at the bottom of the cracker jack box.  Too many prizes at once can be bad.

I just want me some games.  Nintendo's the Willy Wonka of gaming, so naturally, they're going to get criticized regardless.

There is another issue: Getting the Nintendo Club rewards off of a game you bought your parents/significant other.  I wonder if the purchase will count for the buyer or receiver. Moreover, what about the deluxe digital credit?

Podcast Discussion / Re: RFN Live Panel at PAX East 2013

I think that there's a fine line between movie-based games and movie-inspired games.  The Lego series are more inspired at times and with that openness comes some degree of freedom that allows developers to make the movie experience unique.  It's when it is very apparent that the game isn't being made for the sake of the game that it falls short.  I still think that a great movie game can be done, but it has to be made, but it obviously needs to be done with greater intentions.  The Lego games garner so much attention because it's clear they authentically love the series they're showcasing.  That's lost on most movie games.

Thank you guys for the wonderful Panel!  It was a pleasure seeing you guys again.

So I activated the extra game-mode, but it's nowhere to be found.  The 80s logo perk makes the title screen like a SNES screen and changes the music, definitely creates a huge contrast to the game tones.

I think I may be one of the only ones left playing this game in survivor mode as my first play through.  Definitely dying here and there, but getting stronger.

Oh!  Has anyone figured out what the Dev Team's going to do tomorrow?  They left a message right outside the safehouse (http://n4g.com/news/1126675/mystery-message-points-to-zombiu-dev-team-planning-in-game-event).  Something is going down tomorrow.  Prepare!

I hope they activate co-op or maybe a side-quest?

OMG OMG OMG...

http://uplay.ubi.com/en-US/game/zombiu

SO, there is very VERY little online about the content involved, but with the Uplay rewards, you can trade in 40 points for... wait for it... Multiplayer Survivor Mode!  I'm really hoping this means a Co-Op Survivor Mode, but I really doubt it because that would make my year.  Has anyone looked into this at all?  It's really not that hard to get 40 points, just start a Uplay, get the BOB, and top 2k on Survivor Score. Bam, DLC.

Thoughts?  If anyone knows more, let me know.  I'm going to hop on tonight and see what if I can get it.  I already managed uplay rewards, so maybe they'll be added once I link.  I'll post more then.

Ugh! I just died in Buckingham Palace on Survivor mode last night.  It's crushing.  Of course, I should probably play the game through on Normal first, but where's the fun in that?  I've been jumping like a punk since I started.

Wavedashing tech has nothing to do with why Brawl is the weakest of the series. Character balance and terrible design decisions like random slips do, though! Kill all casuals.

I only have a notebook sheet that my friend logged all of our time before resetting the memory card... and that was in the middle of the school year in 2006 with me over a week's time in.  I could have it notorized :)

All the games have balancing.  That's just the nature of a dynamic character roster.  It's infinitely regressive to ask for balance because the ideal balance would be all the characters were exactly the same.  Melee had much more balancing issues because of the exploits.  Those were fixed in Brawl.  In exchange, we have to endure prat falling (which is annoying, yes, but a danger we all deal with).  I love Melee and Brawl wholeheartedly, but it's troubling that Melee players can't let go of Melee.  This is because of general comfort zones and not wanting to adapt to a new style.  If you try to play Brawl like you play Melee, you're going to be disappointed.  It is a beautiful game that changes the focus to a more aerial and economic take on your tactics.  The tier lists can change more because of it because the game demands creativity.  Just a new way doesn't make it wrong or worse.

Either way, trying to make Smash like other fighters is a trap.  It's not a fighter, it's smash.  I do think third parties need more rep too.  I'd love to see Megaman from the battle network series show.

More often than not, the ones who complained about Brawl's evolution of the series were the ones who heavily relied on the exploits of wavedashing and the like.  Sure, I appreciated them as well, but it was out of necessity much like nuclear weapons protect from nuclear weapons.  It was a glitch arms race that you either had to join in or get left in the dust.  The problem arose when those who identified skill with these glitches were suddenly ripped from the teat.  Instead of acknowledging that those bugs were fixed, they just complained.  For someone who's put in over a few weeks' time in game matches, I can definitely say that Brawl is better and what the series needed.  It's easy to lose sight of the beauty in the game when you play competitively.  Every exploit is money in your pocket.  If you're complaining about Brawl, then you're probably someone who didn't know how to play without these.  By removing those tactics, they forced people back into an uncomfortable zone where the game thrives: Poetry in Chaos.  But that makes the game much more organic than most fighters.  That's why I love the game.
