Nope, just banning him so he can't come back.  I'm giving his bed to someone else.

My last post wasn’t as descriptive as I intended it to be, so I’ll fill you guys in on what’s going on. This is the funhouse, but its time for me to be serious for a moment.

To put it simply, I’ve had enough.

I don’t have enough time to maintain the online presence that I previously had, let alone keeping up with the gaming news going around the internets. Work has thrown me some nice opportunities and that has consumed the majority of my time over the last month since I finished exams (almost done with uni, just six more months).

I don’t have enough time for the games sitting around. So far Prime 3 and Galaxy have been largely neglected, and I want to change this. But Brawl won’t be here anytime soon so I guess that leaves me some space for third party games (lawl, if they get here).

I don’t have enough time to keep up with the bullshit that comes with being involved with a forum. Sure, I’m sure you guys are average, sane people - but I pretty much come to the forums to stir up trouble and piss off everyone else. If I can’t even do that, what’s the point? And bullshit is probably too strong a word, but I just had to abuse the word filters one last time.

I’ve had enough of the politicking involved with this place. The run-in with Megabyte was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I love this place to bits, but there’s only so much bullshit that any person can take (and if you can take more than me, give yourself a pat on the back). I hope the “new forums” issue gets resolved soon, but I wouldn’t hold my breath. A change is as good as a holiday, but the forums can’t fly to the Bahamas.

So pencil me down as “Missing in Action” and we’ll see what happens. I’m sure you’ll hear from me in the meantime, but regular posting just isn’t going to happen. I'm sure that any critical news will reach me through Piechat, so it won't be like I've gone to the dark side of the moon to hide under a rock until hell freezes over.

Regards,
Shifty

But I want to know about the new Forum Software you hinted at in your first post.

NWR needs to start a special funds collection to buy new software.

This is my best guess, but I wouldn't exactly classify that as a "run in".  Shifty's just being emo.  Why can't you simply think you're better than the rest of us like KnowsNothing and continue to pop in every now and then to remind us of the fact?
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Hmm, well I'm gonna have to side with MB on that one, as shifty was quite confrontational about an issue he can't know all of the sides of.

While I appreciate the desire for new forum software, asking for it didn't have to happen in that way.

Also, as a slight insight into why it's not as easy as it sounds, we are pondering a larger scale changeover for the site (for other reasons) that would affect new forum software anyway.  That question needs to be answered first.

PS.  Why does everyone hate these forums so much anyway?  I mean, it's not like they are broken...

PSS.  What the hell did happen to KN?  Did i miss some drama over that departure too?

I like the forums! Anyway if I was sensitive to drama I would have been gone a LONG time ago, but unfortunately for you guys I'm NOT.

I saw the thread and frankly MUCH worse arguments have happened on the Nintendo and SSB Brawl forums.

But whatever, its your decision and if you don't want to come back fine. No one is forcing you to stay, especially if you don't want to.

I don't think there was any drama, at least I don't recall of anything that would indicate it. maybe he just got busy with other social experiences.

It doesn't matter who was right or wrong, and I'll gladly admit fault in that. Water under the bridge.

I know. I've had worse arguments. But that discourse (and the week after where I did nothing internets-related) confirmed that I don't have the time to spend online that I used to.

Such is life.
