The new Zelda is *kawaii*.

On top of that, she doesn't turn into a guy. (disgusting)

I got the Paper Mario soundtrack with the subscription, but despite its 2-discs, it's MISSING some GOOD tracks.  Naturally, I'm pissed.

Nintendo Gaming / Ideas on how to get the Wind Waker Soundtrack.
« on: April 10, 2003, 02:31:15 PM »
I bought the Wind Waker 2-disc soundtrack from Gamemusic.com for a whopping total of $45.71, received it a couple days ago and I've been listening to it a lot, even while I sleep.

Don't count on there being an "American version" of it cuz Nintendo hardly sells their soundtracks, and as of late the DK64, ZeldaMM, and Paper Mario soundtracks are only available with a subscription to Nintendo Power from their online store.  Additionally, their American soundtracks are rarely complete.

I suggest you sign up for Game Music.com's newsletter (which notified me about the WW soundtrack early) and wait for their next batch of the Jp. soundtrack to come in.  Hell, check their site everyday for the next few weeks.

(You could try animenation.com, but their prices are comparatively higher, so I refuse to support them)

Nintendo Gaming / Best Cube FPS...?
« on: April 10, 2003, 02:19:55 PM »
....what's the best Cube FPS in terms of its single player experience?  My dilemma is EBgames.com is selling TimeSplitters 2 for $30, yet I'm still very interested 007:nightfire cuz of its slightly more realistic atmosphere but it's still sold in most places for $50.

I need some pros & cons here, and I care not for multiplayer.

Midnight club 2 looks really sick. I mean I've had Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart Advance and I still see no good out of the game. The pictures do look real though.

Well if you wanted a realistic type of driving game you'd better explain WTF you're playing any Mario Kart in the first place.  I play Mario Kart knowing I'll hear funny voices when my turtle shells hit my MULTIPLAYER (read: MULTIPLAYER) opponents, leading me to laugh in maniacal ecstasy.  I also tend to know shite about cars, but Burnout 2 is a great looking semi-realistic type of racer with a nice sense of speed and wonderful crash mechanics.

I miss the semi-traditional Nintendo credits format where the game visits the various locales in real-time and sometimes shows some kind of gallery of all the characters present with original music.  Super Mario World had it, Super Mario 64, Super Mario Kart, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Pikmin had what I had in mind.  Sadly, Metroid Prime, Mario Sunshine, and Wind Waker didn't, probably cuz of dev time, so I was slightly disappointed.

If someone pulls the sword outta Ganon's head, he'll die of a heart attack or some other horrible health condition.  That man is 110% Triforce-powered cholesterol.  The only character to rival his size was that awesome black pig that nearly kicked my ass after I threw him off the cliff.  From now on I'll respect the bacon I eat in the morning.

Never, ever, ever, leave out the Castlevania series and Mega Man 2.

Visit http://www.minibosses.com for their rock renditions for Castlevania 1,2,3 and Mega Man 2 (one of the best covers ever).  They also have Metroid and Wizards & Warriors.

I don't like drifting away from the original "STARS Team/mansion incident".  RE0 and the Remake are the only ones I'll take seriously.  Having a zombie outbreak in Raccoon City is going overboard, to me.

Nintendo Gaming / What happened to the overworld theme?(^Spoilers^)

This is one of my minor complaints about the music.  It actually makes sailing less enjoyable because you have to listen to a rearranged, out of order, and very... very drawn out take on the original overworld theme.  The anger engulfes me when I leave an island and the beat starts.  They should have kept the "normal" overworld theme.  It would have made the game as a whole a lot better.

Of Course, this flaw is made up for by the outstanding use of music from past Zelda games in what seems like every situation.

Am I the only one that noticed the "midnight of the last day" music from MM in the warp from the first 2 temples after beating the boss?
When you do the Ballad of Gales, do you notice the same notes as the OoT warp songs?
When Tetra transforms into Zelda, can you hear the beat from Lttp.
But of course,  the Reincarnated song that takes the cake is the score from Hyrule Castle, which is carried on from game one, all the way to Wind Waker.

Any comments on what seems like the best soundtrack for any game ever made?(at least I think so).

I did notice "midnight of the last day" from MM for every "beam me up, Scotty" warp platform in every hole Link drops in, including fairy fountains.

The Ballad of Gales sounds only familiar to parts of Requiem of Light (whatever it's called, the Temple of Time warp song).  Otherwise I can't find its similarities to the other warp songs.

When Tetra becomes the new Zelda, do you mean the Zelda's Lullabye/theme?  I almost got teary-eyed when I heard that.

Which moment in Hyrule Castle are you talking about?  I'm still in the process of getting Triumph Sporks, and I don't remember the theme from the earlier treks in the sealed castle.

I really adore the music from the moment you meet with the Zora/Earth Sage.

I'm also glad I just ordered the Jap. Zelda:WW 2-disc soundtrack last night for $46 including tax and shipping.  God, that's like another game right there.

Rock on with the game music!

Majora's Mask rocked.  Especially the googly-eyeball miniboss in the Great Bay Temple.  The main bosses were pretty damn action-packed too.

Jet Force Gemini was cool up until the time where you had to collect all the ship parts.  The hell with that, why re-visit those damn planets I've been too.

S.S. Anubis had excellent stage music.

So far, I really enjoyed the game.

On Easy Mode, you'll still get the full ending, but you won't be entitled to unlocking the hidden weapons (by beating the game fast) unless you play on at least Normal Difficulty.

Jump around lasers and shoot robots... it's a dying concept (mechs don't count).  I haven't had that kind of action since the Mega Man games on SNES.  I'm getting this game regardless.
