The Collection will include the first three games, as well as other extras.

Square Enix will release a compilation of the first three Dragon Quest games on September 15 in Japan. The compilation will include the first footage of Dragon Quest X, which was originally announced for the Wii more than two years ago.

The collection includes the first three games in their original Famicom form, the Super Famicom remakes, and a few extras. The extras included will range from a reprint of the original game guides, a recreation of the series’ “Small Medal” item, an art collection that will be included on the disc, and brand new anime intros for all three of the games.

There are currently no release dates for the collection outside of Japan.

The way things are looking with Nintendo all regions except for North America will get game. Add this game to the petition list as a precaution.

I want this so bad. Sucks that we won't get it in the west.

@Kytim89 - as I said in the DQX thread, I'm pretty sure Nintendo publishes Dragon Quest games in NA now so this has the best chance of being brought over. Also, it's a known IP and a compilation that can be budget priced. I'd be surprised if Nintendo of America didn't bring this over.

This collection is cool. I just wish Nintendo had some sort of service that allowed them to release their old games in a way that let them get digitally downloaded to my Wii.

The reason this collection is unlikely to be released outside of Japan (even though I would buy it) is because the SNES remakes were never localized, so they they would to do that with all three games. This collection likely would not be a huge seller outside of Japan, so they may feel it's not worth it. Anyways, the preview of Dragon Quest X should help boost sales.

I feel in love with DQ9 so I can only hope this comes to NA.
On the other hand we do have the DS remakes that we can play.

Given that friggin' Itagaki Street (a spinoff of a spinoff) is getting localized, we may have a better chance of getting this than you think...
