TalkBack / Re: Pokédex 3D Coming to 3DS eShop
« on: June 01, 2011, 11:37:05 AM »
I have to admit, I'm kind of bummed.

When I read the headline, my brain immediately went to some sort of 3D version of Pokemon Box. I'm craving an app that would store Pokemon and organize them better than the stupid games allow.

Still cool though. Should be a fun diversion for free.

Do US coins and Aussie stars have equivalent values?

If so, this quite pricey for an entertaining gag.

Strange. I guess I would have assumed it hit that number a long time ago.

I still haven't played it. ><

Really hoping a copy comes up on Goozex for me at some point.

Yeah, I definitely have about 30 surveys in my account right now. I leave them until the end of the Club Nintendo year and then use exactly as many as I need to to get platinum.

At least those ones won't expire any time soon. =P

I really like the fact you can play them in native res on the higher res screens.  I will probably opt for that start/select trick, though I still haven't seen it in person.

TalkBack / Re: Chrono Trigger Announced For Japanese Virtual Console
« on: March 25, 2011, 09:15:42 AM »
I'm excited to see this.

Maybe some day all publishers will realize that the Virtual Console in and of itself is a good way to make money on old games...

They don't need to "hold" them in favor of remakes on other systems.

I realize that, but if it's the "same" mystery gift, the game will only let you get it once... which is what I was worried about.

I got Raikou. Is this the kind of mystery gift that only allows you one of the three? Or can I go back for each? Anyone know?

I will never understand why people enjoy hating on games like Gran Turismo and FF 13 for the sole reason of the amount of time they took to develop.

It's one thing if you aren't into ultra sim driving experiences, but it seems like most people just want to whine about how long it took to develop.  The game is out, let's look at it for what it is.

I'm seriously enjoying Gran Turismo 5.  Playing it with the driving force wheel.  I'll admit that there are many features that are rough around the edges which is a little upsetting, but the core driving experience is still amazing.

They are also patching in more content regularly.  I wish I had more people on my friends list who were playing it.  All I've got right now is Bloodworth, who is way ahead of me, and Lindy, who has barely played. =P

Ya know what would have been the perfect bundle/price for this?

$40

Everything that is currently there, PLUS the SNES style classic controller.

Now that would be killer.

Is $30 dollars really a nice price? I mean, it's more than buying the 4 games individually on VC costs.  Seems if there is a "bundle" there should be a discount.

But yeah, I guess collectors and people that really desire the different graphic look get some added value.  Not for me though.

I can definitely get behind this.  So psyched.

I still need to give Too Human a run, seeing as it can be had for so cheap now.

Regarding Animal Crossing for Cube...

Didn't the packaged card come with some in-game NES games?  I swear I remember it did....

But, that said, I think it only worked for the first town you created... so even getting that card used and wanting to start a fresh town would cause you to lose them.

TalkBack / Re: DSiWare Purchases Can Be Redownloaded on 3DS
« on: September 29, 2010, 10:27:46 AM »
Ya know what amazes me about all the discussions regarding this going on on different forums right now?

The fact that people take this as a "good sign" that VC games will be downloadable without paying again on Wii2.  We shouldn't have to look for signs of this. This crap is a REQUIREMENT.

If Nintendo honestly tells someone that they have to rebuy games, their entire digital delivery strategy is garbage and I don't think I would ever be buying a Nintendo system again for that level of dishonestly and stupidity.

So yeah, in my opinion, they HAVE to solve this problem so it is not just a question of whether or not they have the feature, its a question of whether or not the feature will be implemented well.

The "some" word makes me want to throw up. Only partial backwards compatibility?

Here's to hoping the ones that don't work will be the lame alarm clocks and what not.

TalkBack / Re: No Online Play for NBA Jam on Wii
« on: September 08, 2010, 04:37:03 PM »
Point taken.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again.  I think it's very ignorant to call a developer "lazy" when none of us have any of the details.  It's not like the developers woke up one morning and went to work.  Upon arrival they checked out their to-do list.  On the top it was "copy the online support from the 360 version of NBA Jam into the Wii version."  Then they exclaimed, "**** it, I'm taking a nap."

If you want to 'blame' EA for this, the only reasonable statement would be. "I really wish EA would just spend whatever time and money it takes to put a functioning online mode in the Wii version, even if that means delaying the game."

Was Nintendo lazy for not including online play in Wii Sports resort?

TalkBack / Re: No Online Play for NBA Jam on Wii
« on: September 08, 2010, 09:49:27 AM »
EA are masters of making online work for sports games. They've done it for years.

They have online working in the PS3/360 versions.

It doesn't work on Wii.

We constantly hear stories about online sucking on Wii.

Nintendo as a first party has even had failures (Smash Bros.).

How exactly are we making the logical leap that this is somehow because EA is lazy?

Don't know if you were referring to me too there Spyke, but my beef is not with the value.  I just don't like that they are creating a branch in their "platforms" if you will.

If this was getting a New Super Mario Bros update, then I'm totally fine with it.  If it's just the SNES game, I would have much rather seen it on VC with a premium price tag to correspond with the quanity of games... or... better yet... chop it into three VC games each with SNES price point.
