Ok. Thanks for all your advice. I've played this game a ton more and have really been enjoying it. I've unlocked every character[edit: every non-secret character]. (It took me forever to beat greed mode with Azazel - partly because I was awful at fighting greed. I have a much better strategy for fighting greed now.) I've beaten the final boss 3 or so times. I've unlocked well over half of the secrets.

The one thing that really makes me mad is trying to unlock the Lost. Every other thing in the game seems to be mostly skill based. This is BS luck. I got Mom's Box again today. I even got the Missing Poster to spawn... but no sacrifice room. Sure, I ran into two or so sacrifice rooms on earlier floors... really frustrating.

Is there a point in the game (like after mom's heart) that sacrifice rooms stop spawning? I can't recall seeing them after that point, but I also never really paid attention to sacrifice rooms up until now.

Retail games:
Zelda- played about 130 hours. Loved it. Didn't do everything the game had to offer. Didn't get DLC. Might be my favorite game of all time, and I own hundreds of games, so that is quite a feat.
Binding of Isaac: Played this one over 100 hours. I love the challenge and the way that things are different every time I play it.
ARMS: hardly played it. Kind of regret getting it, but I'll have to play some more.

Digital:
Snake Pass: A fun collect-a-thon. Mastering the controls is really fun once you get over the hump. Found all the goodies. Very satisfying.
Snipperclips: played this one with the wife. Tons of fun but we wish it lasted longer.
Blaster Master Zero: Fun. Retro. Solid. Beat it once. The (timed free) DLC is neat.
Death Squared: beat the regular mode with the wife. We enjoyed it. It got pretty tough near the end. We still need to play the other mode.
Jackbox pack 3: fun with large groups, especially with creative funny people.

I like being able to play the Switch on the TV or take it with me easily on vacation. On a plane or in bed next to my wife.

I did have issues with one of my joy cons. I sent it out for repairs and it is better, but still isn't great. If anything is between my joy con and system, it'll briefly lose connection. I can't sit with my knees up. It's the case with both joy cons. I think the wireless just is weak. I did get a pro controller and that works fine.

I feel that there are plenty of games coming down the pipeline that I'm excited for. Mario Odyssey, Steam World Dig 2, Skyrim. Metroid Prime 4. There's honestly more games than I have time for as a responsible adult.

I hope that Nintendo improves the eShop and menus soon. I hope that virtual console is linked to Wii U and 3DS, even though that's unlikely. I hope that streaming services come out eventually. Even if none of these things are fixed, I'll still be pleased with the games.

Overall, I'm very happy.

Azeke, I also found your advice very helpful.

I'm about 30 hours in now and I have questions about game modes and stuff.

1) Do all modes unlock stuff? Does playing hard mode unlock more stuff or should I keep playing normal mode for a while?

2) I haven't made it through greed mode successfully yet. It's that worth doing? Should I be fighting the optional 11th wave? What are the best types of items to prioritize for this mode? It's it best to pick up coins during the fight it leave them until the waves are done?

3) It's there a point to doing the daily challenge? I've yet to unlock anything from it. Is it just for fun?

4) It's there a benefit to beating the game fast our with a high score?

I think I have more questions, but that's all I can remember. Sorry if it's disorganized- I'm using my phone. Thanks

Nintendo wins E3 in my heart with this announcement.

There was that game where Mario used a water GUN for the whole game, or was Super Mario Sunshine just a figment of my imagination?

SW-1836-1158-9400

I go by JJ in real life.

(Sadly, I sent out my left joycon out for repair, so I've yet to pay much of anything.)

This is not a virtual console game?

Even if it fails by whatever metrics you want to use (sales compared to Sony or Microsoft, sales compared to other Nintendo systems), if it has lots of fun games then it succeeds in my heart.

Cool. I can't wait for it to come out on Android.

And by "can't wait" I mean "will have to wait."

I'm still waiting for Dragon Quest X...

This was convenient. I would have been too lazy to figure this out on my own.  :cool;

They announce a sale, but don't say what games? Nintendo, come on.

So far, I haven't had free time during any of the Splatfests. Do they ever do them in the middle of the week?

According to the miitomo site ( https://miitomo.com/en/ ) the game launches 1am PST (or 4am EST).

I'm going to bed.

It's 12:02am EST and no Miitomo.

I declare Nintendo's mobile presence to be an utter failure.

2 Characters, 2 stages and some skins are $30? That just doesn't seem to be worth half the price of the entire game.

How does the game actually play? Do you use touch screen controls?

Is there another game that you could compare the gameplay to?

Does anyone know how many coins Wonderful 101 is worth? If I get it, I think it'll give me just enough to get something else.

My original 3DS isn't working that great (vertical lines on top screen and the A & L buttons barely register a press anymore). I was hoping to get the cheaper New 3DS. The smaller one, despite being similar in size, actually has larger screens. So, it'd still be a size upgrade.

But I guess I'll get the large one that doesn't fit in my pocket as nicely. :-/

I wish the A and L buttons on my 3DS worked consistently. Tetris is all about precision.
