Nintendo Adds Four to Player's Choice Line-up
« on: March 16, 2004, 03:48:14 PM »
Well, more like three and a half, but Metroid Prime is dropping another $10 this April.

DID YOU KNOW? - NINTENDO BOLSTERS PLAYER'S CHOICE LIBRARY

March 16, 2004 -- A golf date with Mario is about to get a lot more affordable, as Nintendo announces a new MSRP for four popular Nintendo GameCube™ games, including Mario Golf™: Toadstool Tour. The games will join more than 35 other titles in Player's Choice library, a selection of Nintendo video games offered at reduced rates. The addition of these four games will continue to drive record sales. In December alone, Nintendo sold more than 1.5 million titles from the Player's Choice collection.

On April 29, the MSRPs for both Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour and Wario World™ will be reduced from $49.99 to $29.99, while the MSRP for the wild racing game F-Zero® GX will be $19.99. The fourth game, the extremely successful Metroid® Prime, already in the Player's Choice library, will be available at a new MSRP of $19.99.

I strongly urge everyone who doesn't own F-Zero GX to go and buy it now. Now. It will be the best $19 you ever spend.

Actually, it doesn't drop until April 29th, so maybe not now.

Ahaha, oh yeah. Buy it on April 29th then. Curse my lack of reading things properly.

Grr. When are they going to put Wind Waker on the Player's Choice line?
I used that for my free trial to that gamefly.com service (which I never used after).. Made it to the very end, but haven't had the opportunity to fully finish it, since I had to return it - I'm not going to spend $50 on another 30 minutes of gameplay... not even for Zelda, sorry.

Nifty, though now I wish I'd waited on Mario Golf and F-Zero, two games I bought when they launched and still haven't even come close to finishing.

Is this valid for Europe, too? (with exception of Mario Golf, of course)

All of a sudden, my decision to sit on both Wario World and Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour is looking very good.

it seemed apropriate (i.e. cubecinder's gamble on purchasing... it's all relevent in some convoluted way )

isn't it a bit strange to announce a price drop this far in advance?  nintendo is pretty much cannibalizing sales for the next six weeks.  was this news officially announced, or was it leaked?

either way, i'm super stoked about f-zero dropping in price.  i've been meaning to pick it up.  i doubt i'll be able to get very far in it--i still haven't been able to get the gold cup in all-cup mirror mode in double dash.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

I hope F-Zero GX becomes Player's Choice in Australia too!  Then I'll buy it!

And I'm not pleased about Mario Golf.
