Stop poisoning people.
Besides, where's Nintendation gone? Your hiring people for a site that doesn't exist.

What a dumb idea for a game. Just awhole lot of anti left-wing/communist propaganda.

If they're from Copenhagen as they calim why dont they make a game where the Nazi's never had to surrender modern day Denmark after WWII and these freedom Fighters have to free Copenhagen.

Of course, taht was probably their original intenet but I'm guessing some stupid folk at EA didn't even know where Copenhagen was and would've made them change the game to New York.

The whole idea just boggls belief. Wins the cold war? How the hell could you win that? It was an arms race not a war, the only way either side could've won would've been blowing the crap out of the other with their ICBM's, not some land based invasion where they decided to just be happy with capturing one city about as far away from their sphere of influence as possible.

IBM hate mac do they? how come the two have been working togethor on the Power PC chip since 1995? Thats a lot of trust for companies that hate each other. Apples G5 chips are made, right at IBM's big manufacturing plant. IBM and Microsoft have had working relationships have they? Yeah sure they did, back in the seventies. IBM got really annoyed with Microsoft back in the eighties and developed their own operating system, OS 2 Warp, unfourtunatly it never took off and IBM had to go back to packaging Windows to turn a profit.

yes the whole idea sounds quite convincing and as a Macintosh/Nintendo fanboy I'll go crazy if it's confirmed.

Ok Ninja, I understand what you mean now and I guess you and many others would want to do that. Honestly though, I'm one of those people who doesn't care too much about how something works, as long as it does work. When I put my iMac on my desk and plugged in the power supply it worked. Took me all of 2 minutes to start it up for te first time after taking it from the box. Compare that to you.

Linux for mac? I havent heard of that but i do have a whole Unix command line as my operating system is built over a darwin/unix core.

Well I didn't expect much positive feedback but hey, mabye I will actually start making this site as opposed to thinking about it.

GBA-Au died because our hsot suddenly stopped paying for his own domain name so it all just vanished, we were planning a new layout and all kinds of crap too, oh well. They reckon they will get it all back up in a month or so but I'm not interested in it anymore.

Reviewing these racing games wont be a priority seeing as if your visiting the site you've probably got an interest in them to start with. But feel free to write them if you want.

What was probably going to be the main focus of the site was offering a large amount of detail on the game, running fastest lap time contests, etc. Listing shortcuts and strategies for courses and stuff.

Covering Unirally is a great idea, I cant believe I forgot about it, which is bad seeing as I own the game :s

Any other ideas, thoughts?

What do I need to do with my computer other than homework, surfing the web, email, chatting, music, play games, (yes I have games for it) image editing and choose a cool desktop picture? Sometimes I get the feeling that there is something strange and exciting that windows users get to do on the DOS command line or something. Like I'm missing out on the highly enjoyable task of partitioning my hard drive needlessly.
btw I can partition my harddrive, it's easy.

And that video was pretty amusing, yes it's true that Blizzard, id and Cyan are the only companies reat the mac with simultaneos release dates, and it bothers me. Althoguh what he said about upgrading was bordering in bullshite.

General Chat / Would you be interested in a Nintendo racing game fansite?
« on: September 27, 2003, 09:27:56 AM »
I've been thinking about this for awhile now and seeing as GBA-AU died due to matters out of my hands, I need a new website to occupy myself with. And I thought I could make some kind of fansite of a similar mould to many Zelda sites based around Nintendo's racing games. This means Mario Kart, F Zero, 1080°, Wave Race, Excitebike and any other Nintendo developed racing titles (ie. Kirby's Air Ride)

Now all of this is thinking aloud but would any of you guys be interested in such a site and would you consider contributing?

Simpler, more efficent, easier

Yes i understand the point your making with Linux but the saturation of the open source industry for them has made anyone trying to sell a commercial product for the OS stumble short of a profit.
Apple still have a future in the education and home consumer industry.
And there will always be loyalists like me.

I don't think I have ever actually flamed anyone for owning a Mac.  I trash talk the Macs regularly, and I am known to advise Mac owners to go with Linux next time around, but I don't think I have ever flamed the owners.  I just hate Macs.  It's not because I am a PC Gamer, or a console gamer, or whatever.  It's just that I am geeky enough to care about things like that.  It's a fairly common trait among computer geeks to hate Macs, as there is so little that you can actually do with them.  And their advertising just stinks to high heaven.  It's like:  "I am smarter than you, and that's why I buy an inferior PC".  The people who wrote those ads should be dragged out into the street and stabbed.  It doubled my hatred for Macs right there.

I would consider that flaming, I know your not after me but my computer, but I would still consider it flaming.
Yes those switch advertisments were horrible but I dont understand how you people can hate Macs. You bring up better points than most though. Most try to tell me that they hate having a one button mouse. Is one button too much for you to handle? Bloody hell, if it really bothers them that much they can plug their USB bloody 16 button, dual scrollwheel, rubber moulded exterior mouse into a mac, it'll work, and funtion just as it would on windows.
Going with Linux is a bit stupid though, it's like trying to make it even harder for yourself to find compatible software.

And if you cut those unemployment benefits then people WOULD start starving to death.

I have a friend at school, her mum is on the dole (unemployment benefit) they live in a pretty dodgy little house in a small town. her mum works her arse off applying for at least 5 jobs every week. She was ounce the local member of state parliment for the areafor the labour (left wing) party. Conservatives voted her out.

Let's see if it wasn't for the unemployment benefit introduced by her political party decades ago then she would've been forced into a  life of crime to feed and dress herself and my friend because of a decision made by one of the partys ministers that caused voters to vote her out.
Does that sound fair?

Casual gamers annoy me but I dislike this whole 'elitist' attitude we're displaying towards them. Sure they are the ones who run the industry and punish themsleves when they buy 3rd party crap but hey, it's what they do. They eitehr turn into loyists like us with more than just an intrest in games or they simply stop playing. SO i say we just put up with them and excuse them for their lack of knowledge. Somehow gaming seemed more fun when I was one of those.

Mabye now developers like Edios and the like who ditched the gamecube because of the poor sales of their games will relise that we didn't buy their stuff because we're smart enough not to. They have to make good games for us to buy them.

Yeah average taxation is 50% here, which for the lousy mathmeticians is more than your easy going 40% in America.
The dole is important though, one of the most important parts of any economy. Can you imagine what would happen is the dole and other unemployment benefits were taken away? crime would surge upwards as people would be forced into crime to live, the moral of the lower class would drop, because suddenly all the people on the dole wont have any money then a lot less people will be participating in the countries economy, so people would be spending less, making business and commerce drop, in an effort to maintain profits business would have to sack employees, putting more people out of work.
Basically it would all end in a major depression.

And what are you crapping on about crappy local music? Australian music is great.

Left? IMO, if America was any further to the right it would be bordering on Facism.
I think my avatar sums up my political position.

Actually on a semi related note, Lenin looked at Australia, which was the most socialist country in the world at the time, when seting up communist Russia.
Australia is now only slightly left, but I say we need more leftness!

Um, yeah where was I? Oh yeah i dont like patriotism much, I really dont like Australia too much. Proabbly the proudest I've ever felt being Australian was when 4 men fell over to give Steve Brabury the gold of the Mens 1000m ice skating last year. Oh it was magical.
