Alex Smith is just dominating this game. It's amazing that just a few years ago he was terrible.

Some guys are taken with the number one overall pick and turn out not to be worth it. Andrew Luck is not one of those guys.

Yeah, that was a hell of a comeback. That touchdown pass around 4 minutes left was ridiculous.

So the Saints, Chargers and 49ers win in various states of deep freeze. Bad weekend to be a narrative.

True. Next week's games should all be really good and probably pretty close, aside from Chargers vs Broncos in which Manning and company will dominate from start to finish.

Hey, so my team's in the Conference Finals!  One would think I would have enjoyed watching the game but it was actually quite unpleasant.  The Seattle offense wasn't clicking and has been off for the last couple of games which isn't a good sign.  The Saints narrowed the lead at the very end as it appeared the Seattle defense had suddenly quit like they figured they had already won, and I was getting flashbacks to last year's last minute defensive collapse against the Falcons last year.  When New Orleans nabbed the onside kick I was yelling at the screen.  Frankly if Marques Colston had not thrown a forward pass when he could easily have just stepped out of bounds I was feeling like the Saints were going to tie the game with some miraculous hail mary pass and then win in overtime.  It just had that feeling of a miracle comeback.

I realize that I have no confidence in the Seahawks and it has nothing to do with the team itself.  The team is solid and a serious Superbowl contender, not some Cinderella team fluking their way through.  I felt the same way a few years back when the Canucks went to the Stanley Cup finals and they also were clearly a great team... but they lost.  My lack of confidence in the Seahawks is entirely because they are a team in the one of the four major sports leagues that is geographically close to me and those teams don't win championships.  The last one to do so was the Sonics who won two years before I was born and they don't even exist anymore.  MY teams don't win.  They never have in my lifetime and when enough time has gone by with something not happening you start to assume it never will.

Of course this is all completely illogical.  The Seahawks are completely unaffected by me.  They're unaffected by the other teams in the Pacific Northwest that haven't won titles.  They aren't even really that affected by the shitty Seahawk teams of the past as this core lineup of guys is pretty young and even if their was continuity the franchise went to a Superbowl less than ten years ago so the franchise has been run well in recent times.  But isn't this the nature of sports?

From a neutral perspective this has to be one of the most exciting NFL playoffs in recent memory.  No underdog teams that fluked their way to a few upsets only to **** the bed later on.  It's pretty much the four teams that everyone was picking a few weeks into the season.  No matter what the Superbowl will be between two killer teams.

Drew Brees can pull off comebacks in just a few minutes like that all the time, so that's really nothing against the Seahawks. Seattle is going to win the Super Bowl, just my prediction.

Man, that Seahawks game was hard to watch.  It is so much different to watch these big games from neutral perspective where you can just enjoy a good game.  But being invested in the Seahawks I was just freaking out over every little thing that didn't go their way.  Every penalty, every turnover, every punt, I was yelling and swearing.  My brother accused me of acting like... Jim Harbaugh!  Ouch!  Though that's probably a good description of it.  It's funny that my team is in the Superbowl but I don't think I enjoyed a minute of that game.  Even at the end it was more relief than joy.  And how about Richard Sherman putting a promo like a wrestler after the game!  Ha ha!  I thought for a second he was going to swear on TV!

Now, can the Seahawks beat the Broncos?  I've always liked Peyton Manning.  Back when he hadn't yet won a Superbowl all that talk about him choking in the playoffs bugged the hell out of me and I couldn't help but root for him.  Plus his nemesis is Tom Brady who's incredibly unlikable.  But two weeks from now, for the first time, I will be hoping that Peyton really is the playoff choke machine that his critics say he is.  The Seahawks defense will have to work hard to contain the Denver offense because Seattle would almost certainly lose in a shootout.

Peyton is 1 and 1 with Super Bowls. I will say that last night's game would have been completely tainted if that non-called fumble at the goal line turned into a touchdown for Seattle. Luckily they went for it and failed, so the game didn't get ruined by that horrible non-call, but unfortunately NoVorro Bowman's leg did get ruined (amazing how he actually maintained possession of the ball while his leg was being torn in half).

I'm rooting for the Broncos, but I won't be mad if Seattle wins, they are both insanely good teams and this should go down as one of the best Super Bowl games (at least performance-wise) even if it ends up being a lopsided game on either side.

This could not have felt good.

BTW it's kind of funny that teams from both states that just legalized weed are going to the Super Bowl. Kind of gives a whole new meaning to the term "Super Bowl."
