Title: Has Sony copied Nintendo Again?!!
Post by: Aussiedude on August 18, 2006, 11:32:32 PM
Seen many adds for PS3 today in Australia (Harvey Norman store).

Advertised as a "Revolutionary Console", with ALWAYS ON internet access.  Ive never heard this from anywhere else before.
Sound like Wii connect 24?

I heard about these ads too but I haven't seen them myself. Sony have copied a LOT of Nintendo things over the years but copying their marketing is just the last straw, it's laughable. Nintendo has it's first chance ever to break into the Aus market properly with Wii and Sony are scared as hell.

Looking back over what Sony has been able to copy (properly) I think it would have been better to keep the little things like the VC and the Wii24 PR pitch secret until the end; where the controller's motion tech has proven difficult to simulate and could have (should have) been shown at E305 (just not giving away the remote/nunchuck design).

Please.  PS3 will always be able to do High-Def.  Developer just won't support it :P .
You know Sony should just take the extra step and differentiate it from the Wii and let it be my Wireless router too.  I mean for that cost I think I want it to be able to do everything its hardware would allow.  That being said I want to also stream content from my computer, let my surf the web, and download Bittorrent style downloads.   I don't want to have to mod it to do these sort of things.  Also let me have access to a linux core so I can run apache and host a site from it.   That doesn't take that much processor.  In fact I want to be able to have the ability to run Open Source software and make my Media Computer.  They could then get there tax break they want.

Wait, is Nintendo the military dictator, or is that a swipe at Microsoft?
