didnt know there was a tv show.

edit: you were referring to the anime.
I just went back and read the reviews on Netflix and it seems that they made the movie a 2 parter and did a really good job of capturing the anime, even using the same voice actors for the english dubbing.
Not exactly the best way to watch it (I think the episodes available streamed there are subbed, and Death Note has a stellar dub), but here:

http://www.hulu.com/death-note

If you end up interested in the TV series dubbed, the whole series has been out on DVD for a while now.

can't sleep, about to start watching now.

Gamer - 7/10

I kinda like this movie since it uses what I think is a realistic approach to where current technology may be headed. Games like Home/The Sims where portrayed and tech like Natal/Minority Report where also in play. The main concept that I liked was The Running Man/Death Race like entertainment/prison system that was in place only they used nanotech in the general populace to allow remote control of the subject as if playing a video game. It was all handled well and was pretty believable for what it was (like the fat guy sits in chair at home playing as female character in Home). The only thing I didn't like was the very end. Literally the last 10 seconds or so.

I've been watching a lot of stuff lately, so I'll try to keep this brief:

Iron Man - 9/10 - A movie I didn't care much for when I first saw it a few years ago, but watching it now after I have a much better appreciation for the character I really like this movie now.  Looking forward to the sequel.

Next Avengers: Heroes of Tommorow - 3/10 - "Ugh".  That best sums up this bland movie with its bland characters and TV animation production values.  It's funny, but the more I explore the Marvel Universe the less I like it.  After Spider-Man; the X-Men; Iron Man; and (to some extent) the Hulk, there's a real drop-off in quality in the Marvel Universe with increasingly uninteresting characters and even worse villains.  The Avengers seem largely made-up of the rejects of the Marvel Universe, and this movie stars the children of those rejects in a story that's hard to give a damn about.  So yeah, this movie's bad.

The Lord of the Rings (Trilogy - Extended Editions) - 10/10 - I've been meaning to rewatch these movies for a while now, as I hadn't sat through them pretty much since they first released.  Well, the better part of a decade later I finally got around to it, and the movies are still awesome (particularly these Extended Editions).  I'm still not thrilled with some of the changes Jackson made in Two Towers (Faramir in particular) and that movie in particular drags in places, but the overall quality shines through.  Watching these movies in SD DVD really makes me long for HD Blu-Ray versions, so long as all the extras in these mammoth sets get ported over.

Next up on the docket: the Evil Dead trilogy, a series of horror comedy movies that up till now I've never seen.

The Ex: Don't Know, Didn't Care/10
Hated it. Turned it off halfway through. The story never goes anywhere, and Michael Bluth is just an ass the whole time. Zach Braff is unable to play anybody other than John Dorian, too.

The Ladies' Man: Tiffani Amber Thiesen/10
Simplistic comedy. Then TAT walks onscreen and you're all like DAYAM THAT'S what a woman looks like!

That's funny, I didn't mind the changes in TT as much as the ones in Fellowship and TT is actually my favorite of the three. I was very upset that they didn't include Glorfindel and replaced his role with boring Arwen.

Sadly, Glorfindel and his 2 seconds in the entirety of the Lord of the Rings books simply had no place in the movies, as as Tom Bombadil didn't.  They had to replace him with someone who the audience might actually care about over the course of a 3 hour movie.

My problem with Two Towers is that the theatrical cut of the movie is relatively abysmal.  You have to see the Extended Edition for that movie to become as great as the other two, as the scenes added do more to add character to that movie and explain the changes than any other movie in the trilogy.  Even understanding why they did what they did with Faramir, I still don't care much for it.  Jackson basically took Faramir's role in the books (to be the one person who shows that there's still strength and honor in Man) and gave it to Aragorn, making Faramir almost a pointless character.  The Ents came out sigificantly worse in Two Towers as well, coming off as cowards.

Like I said, though, most of my problems with Two Towers are with the theatrical cut, though I still find what happens to Aragorn during the Warg attack to be inane and filler when Jackson already had a mammoth book to adapt.

Alright, with that out of the way it's time for Evil Dead!

The Evil Dead - 5/10 - A fairly average straight-up horror flick, which is certainly what I wasn't expecting based on the reputation this series supposedly has.  This movie reeks of "Late 70s" in pacing, seemingly taking forever for the movie to get anywhere.

Evil Dead 2 - 8/10 - Now this is what I was expecting when I decided to check out these 3 movies.  Cheesy as hell with silly one-liners and Bruce Campbell getting the crap beaten out of him every other second, this movie is so stupid it's awesome.

Army of Darkness - 3/10 - No, on second thought let's not talk about Army of Darkness...'Tis a silly movie.  ;)

So you give The Evil Dead Trilogy a 16/30 or a 2.5/5 stars average.
Not Bad. Not Great.

Pretty much.  Moderately entertaining, but I'll never understand how all 3 of these movies became cult classics.

ahahaha

Just watched the first 3 Star Wars again.

Star Wars - 9/10. Don't really need to explain this score.
Empire Strike Back - 9/10. Probably like it a little more than the first one, just because Yoda is actually in this film.
Jedi Strikes Back - 5/10. Going into this film I completely forgot how much of the film is taken up by those goddamn Ewoks. Luke is a ****** in this film too.

You know, I've never understood the hatred for the Ewoks.  Maybe I'm just one big softy (I did grow up in a family that constantly owned 1-2 Shih Tzus), but I always found them adorable and their role in the film kind of inspiring in a "little oppressed people take on a mighty Empire and pull out an impossible win" sort of way.  For me, the most painful part of Jedi is all that stuff on Tatooine with Jabba the Hutt.  The movie runs really slowly during that half of the film, and it's brown as far as the eye can see.  Hooray.

I thought the first Ewok movie was great when I was a kid. It started out like a nature documentary with a narrator explaining what the Ewoks were doing. It was an enjoyable cheesy adventure movie with a slight Star Wars flavor.

The second was ridiculous and depressing considering almost everyone of importance died in the first 10 minutes of the movie and then the film warped from Star Wars to a generic medieval film with tiny fuzzy bears.

Legion: 4/10

This is one of those movies i just KNEW was gonna be stupid but just interesting enough to put up with, but still mad I paid to watch it. There could've been a more interesting story in there, but it fell thru the cracks pretty early on. The hot "rebelious goth teenager" was worth it, if anything, but she died at the end. Sad :(

Zombieland: 7/10

I liked that it was a zombie movie that largely lacked zombies. I'm so fracking sick of zombie movies. The cast had a great chemistry, and Bill Murrey was, as always, superb.

What's the name of the girl in this movie (THE OLDER ONE)? Hottie.
