I'm sorry to admit this, but I have to agree with Perm on this one--Basketball is stupidly hilarious.  Granted, I saw it like a decade ago, so maybe it hasn't held up as well as in my mind.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

It still holds up welll, trust me. I've watched it so many times I can practically recite the whole fucking thing from beginning to end and i STILL think its hilarious. I have to ask if D_Average ever enjoyed the comedy stylings of the Naked Gun series... Basketball is by the same producers and it has the same comedy style (just raunchier language) where almost every line or physical joke is a "wtf" moment. I know some people just don't get it and dislike these types of comedies, but not me man I love those movies.

Speaking Basketball, appearantly the producer hand picked Matt and Trey for the parts, basically wrote the movie with them in mind. I just think thats pretty cool. Orgasmo is another great movie their in, but admittedly I've never fully seen Cannibal! The musical. I think I fell asleep through it (i stayed up trying to watch it online) and just forgot about ever trying to finish it.

Fun Fact: Treys horse in Cannibal! The Musical was named Leanne after his ex-fiance who had cheated on him. He also named Cartmans whore of a mother Leanne after her too.
Damn she musta been a bitch, huh?

Hmmm, I caught it somewhere in the middle and I was real out of it.  I'll give it another shot sometime from the beginning if I catch it on as I do love the Naked Gun series.

Star Trek: Again/10

Saw Star Trek on the opening night some time ago.  Wanted to see it in our local mini-Imax, but they weren't showing it.
Whadda know, they're showing it now?  And at a reduced price ($8.50 vs. $12.50!).  Some friends and I went to see it.

Now, I know there are some die-hard trekkies out there who hated this film, but I liked it.
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

Surrogates: 7/10

While a good sci-fi movie with some decent action, it doesn't compare to something like District 9 where you instantly want to see it again. The movie starts off pretty strong, and you think you're in for a mysterious plot too, but eventually you can see the plot twist coming a mile away, and even if you didn't its not very well worth it.

Also: Beware of uncanny valley.. a "pretty" bruce willis is a truley ugly thing.

Also (again!): And, i can't believe i almost forgot this... They stole "jacking-on" from futurama in this film!!! I couldn't stop laughing, but I was the only one..

Thats not what i meant but... well, lemme not ruin anything ;)

Aaaanyway, what i meant by a "pretty" bruce willis is, well his surrogate (as well as pretty much everyone elses) was meant to look like him but a few years younger and much more "beauty enhanced" than what the user actually looks like. So in this case, they used a similar technique to what they did to Prof. X and Magneto in X-men 3 to make a rosey cheeked bruce willis with long blonde hair. Its not a spoiler, if you look carefully at the movie poster..

Deadgirl - OMG/WTF

The premise of this movie is disturbing, but the movie I think was pretty well done except for one incident that was used to move the plot forward. It was disgusting in a way way that could make some people a little sick, but has it's funny parts to balance things out a little. I really didn't expect this movie to be so entertaining, as I expected a sick & twisted gorror movie, and that's basically what it is, but it was fun to watch. 3.5/5

Invention of Lying

While hilarious, really really hilarious at some points, I couldn't help but wish that someone who was more of an asshole had this gift. I loved Gervais in it. I thought he did a really good job. I just wish he was more of a prick like he was in his last movie. I imagined so many ridiculous situations that you could create and while the movie did touch up on most, there was a lot of potential wasted. I also had a problem with it being a love story. A love story limited the scope and progression of the movie. It's too bad really, there is literally everyone in this movie, fuckin' everyone, and I would have loved to see more of them. It literally had the setup to be the funniest movie of all time, but it ended up just being a self-deprecating love story.

Good summer for movies. Up's "Married Life" montage was beyond incredible. Hurt Locker was intense. Hangover was pretty funny ("...almost bankrupted the casino, and he was a ri-TARD!"). District 9 was a pleasant surprise. Inglourious Basterd's is Tarantino's third best movie.

Funny People was **** though. Transformers 2 was mongoose ****. Public Enemies was almost EXACTLY THE SAME as Heat. Come on Michael Mann.

Retro pick: Watched Sunset Blvd again and it's still amazing. I can't believe how well it aged. WATCH IT PEOPLE.

Want to watch Zombieland, 500 Days of Summer, and Ponyo.
