http://www.planetgamecube.com/forums/messageview.cfm?catid=3&threadid=1695I just had to reply to a post I read by Shocking Albert, showing the changing styles of Link. These changes *were* due to technical design issues, not graphical style. The original Link had to be able to stay in a tiny square. Also, as it had a bird's-eye perspective, no other design would really have been possible. In a side-scroller, however, you can see the whole height of Link's body, as opposed just a head and shoulders (oddly enough, you can actually see that Link walks in a weird sideways manner in the original so that you could see more than that despite the perspective.) So, obviously, Link's body in LTTP is more of an SD-style to once-more reflect the camera angle. This can also be seen in the different angles of Zelda II. The artwork in these three games is similar.
