USA Today has an article on the Nintendo Revolution (currently still a code-name), showing a picture of the console.
The console has a front loading slot that can play games on full size DVDs as well as the smaller GameCube discs. It looks like a small flat box and has no visible controller ports as it will use only wireless controllers.
It will be around 2-3 times more powerful than the GameCube is currently and offer broadband access to a player matching service and to what is said to be downloadable versions of nearly every Nintendo game. Games from the original Donkey Kong to Super Mario Sunshine are mentioned, but charges for the service have not yet been decided.
One of the aims of the Revolution is for easier development than the other upcoming consoles as designers will not have to make major changes, but still have extra power to work with.
We'll have more coming up soon as the Nintendo Conference will take place this morning.

Nintendo downplaying the system's power is also frightening. I don't really mind if the system isn't up to par with the other two as I don't think any of the three will be a huge improvement anyway. On the other hand, I think a lot of other people will care, and Nintendo CERTAINLY shouldn't be advertising that it's less powerful than the other two.
Bring on the game reels! Because I'm pretty disappointed so far.

Just curious if anyone else feels the same, as amazing as the lil demo PS3 showed off with all the flashy new lighting and graphics and stuff (which was pretty damned cool)...I still feel more blown away when I look at the new Zelda screen shots.
