What was everyone's teams back on the original versions and will you go with the same team or do you plan to change it up some? I'm thinking I'll keep the core team but adjust a few of them to better balance out everyone. My original Blue version team had a prevalent weakness to electric and I recall still having an issue with it in my changed up Gold version team.

I know for sure I will have Scizor and Kabutops but outside of them I'm open to changing things up drastically.

Let me think. I tend to try out different teams for each game.

I had Typhlosion,Alakazam,Blastoise,Victreebell,Electrode,Starmie in Silver.

For this game I know I am going to use Feralagator,Infernape,Espeon,Absol,Roserade and Wishcash

The team I ended Pokémon Gold with was just one which helped me through the game, it wouldn't have been suitable for competing with other players. I had:

Ampharos
Ho-oh
Lapras
Snorlax
Tyflosion
Pichu

Looking at that, I can already tell that team is rather weak against Rock-types, as only Lapras can really damage them. I'm sure there are other weaknesses which would become apparent vs. players, as well. Snorlax wasn't there for the Elite 4 as that one's not available until after that; I had Togepi in there instead. I liked the Metronome attack because of its unpredictability.

Considering my ingame team in GSC was Alakazam, and he no longer has the elemental punches, I'm gonna change it up.

The first 2 are from Ruby and Saphire but I have ways of getting them in Platinum. Roserade I have for catching pokemon purposes.It can learn Sleep Powder. I could switch it with Jumplump but Jumplump isn't much of an attacker. Jumplump is very quick though. I think they are close in Speed.
Roserade is from Pearl,Diamond,Platinum.

Starting today and going till Febuary 14th you can pick up your Pichu at Gamestop. It when transfered to Soul Silver or Heart Gold will unlock something in the game.

So I am back from Gamestop.I have my Pichu. It is Jolly nature so its Speed raises quicker while its Special attack takes longer to raise. It has these attacks.Volt Tackle, Charge,Endeavor, Endure.

Anybody get different attacks or nature that is different from mine?

Got my Pichu, too. It also has a Jolly nature. Same attacks, and it's holding an Everstone. It's at level 30. I'm betting all the GS Pichus are the same.

Still, this is pretty cool. I'll be able to toss him on HeartGold/SoulSilver right away along with a few of my 3rd-tier Platinum team who need leveling up.

I saw the pre-order boxes for this at work, saw the ridiculous new accessory, and read a little bit about it on my break.

I'm now, for whatever reason really excited about this game! I played Pearl, but never beat the elite 4. I hope I don't do the same thing in this one...

I'd be more interested in a DSi version of Pokemon Box, and just have them release all the Pokemon over wi-fi so I don't have to cheat for them.

Either that or give EBGames/TRU in Canada the ability to distribute them *grumble grumble*

No, I forgot my DS last time I went but I'll survive. We did travel a good 35 minutes to download arceus though from Toys R Us.

So starting on February 27th and going till March 13th Gamestops in the US and Puerto Rico will be having a Jirachi giveaway. The last time Jirachi was given away was with a preorder for Pokemon Colosseum for the GameCube. Also Jirachi unlocks something in Heart Gold and Soul Silver when transferred from Pearl, Diamond and Platinum. I have no idea if the PC Jirachi will unlock something in HG and Soul Silver so I would grab this Gamestop Jirachi ASAP starting February 27th.

Yeah it is a Download like Pichu.There is already a preorder bonus for these games.The Ho-oh and Lugia figurines.

I was just saying that the last time Jirachi was given away it was on the preorder disk for Pokemon Colosseum.

Just making sure. This is pretty exciting! I missed out on the Arceus download at Toys 'R' Us so long ago, and my current Jirachi was acquired through...questionable means, so I'm happy to have the opportunity to get a "real" one.

This is also cool because my Jirachi and Pichu will be instantly added to my HeartGold team. My only question now is whether I'll need to borrow my friend's DS to transfer Pokemon from Platinum to HeartGold. I know I'll probably have to, which is kind of a bother, but it would be nice if there was some kind of workaround. Maybe create an account somewhere and "send" some Pokemon into a private box, then download those Pokemon into any DS Pokemon game.

I have a similar problem. I only have my DS Lite and Platinum. We could when we get our Pokedex in our respective games we could trade over our team to each others games. For example. You when you get your Jirachi and Pichu you can trade it to my Soul Silver from Platinum. I will hold them than I trade over my team that I want to use to your Heart Gold than we trade back our pokemon.I give you back your pokemon and you give me back my team. That would benefit both of us.

That sounds good. We just hold onto the Pokemon we want on our Gold/Silver teams? If there's no workaround, I'm totally down with that. I'll figure out my Pokemon Platinum code after work.

Yeah we keep each others team until we get the games.
Speaking of which I should try and get the pokemon that I am transfering from Platinum.I have a few pokemon I need to catch.
