So,
Who has it?
Should I get it?
Inquiring minds want to know.

I have Ikaruga. It's a really fun game, but it's not for everyone. For starters, it's VERY difficult. Even though there are only 5 chapters, I had to play for 7 hours so I could get unlimited continues. Also, it is a pretty traditional shooter, although it adds the awesome ability to change your ship's color, which allows you to absorb bullets of that color (there are black and white bullets, and your ship can change from black to white and vice versa). So if you don't like 2-D shooters, then I wouldn't recommend Ikaruga. I also wouldn't recommend it if you get frazzled easily, because you gotta have nerves of steel for this game. But it does have some cool bonus features like unlockables, 2 player co-op, internet score rankings, etc. And for 39.99 it is a good deal. You might want to check out a review for more information.

i own the game and i must say it really is a blast- but i love shooters like that- and treasure is one of my favorite developers
as molobert said it is not for everyone- you must learn the fact that if you get the game, you will spend many many hours on just 5 levels- it doesnt seem like much but ikaruga is very deep when you get into it- at first you start with minimal continues and lives, but as you put more hours onto the game, you gain more continues to keep your fight alive- i guarentee you will only see up to stage 2 in you first many tries, maybe only stage 1- the game is very difficult, but it can be mastered- enemies dont come at you randomly- instead they come at you in patterns and if you can learn these patterns then you can start the art of chaining which is the best feature in the game besides polarity swiching (color swich)- the goal in most shooters is to get high scores and the best way to do it in ikaruga is by chaining- it is very difficult to master, but you feel a great sence of accomplishment when you finally nail it down- it is accomplished by shooting 3 of the same colored enemies in a row- then you get bonus points when you do it- and the more you do it, the more the bonus points go up until you get the max chain- 25600 points i think, and each chain after that is worth that amount- you must keep the chain going to get that high though- it is very fun- the game is only 5 levels and roughly takes only 30 minutes to play the game fully once you master it- but that will probably not happen- i still cant beat the game on 1 continue- the game has great gameplay and is by far the best shooter to come out in recent times- the 2 player co-op is great and adds depth to the game and it also adds more strategy to it- using both ships can be to your advantage, especially against the tough bosses- dont let the 5 levels fool you into thinking the game is shallow- it really is very deep and if you like shooters it is highly recommended
i call the big one bitey.
