Eternal Mafia Day IIII
« on: September 14, 2010, 06:25:16 PM »

After discovering a page of the Tome of Eternal Darkness, the band of heroes discovered that they could use it to warp to the respective land and carry on the fight against the Darkness there. They appeared in the great Oublie Cathedral. They began searching for clues that could help them discover who was behind the killings in their midst.

Toruresu, the great High Defender, thought he was on to a lead. He had gone off to meet a custodian to the cathedral who claimed to have information about a secret cult operating within the church but discovered the man dead in the bell tower. Sensing the killer was still in the room he drew his great Ram Dao, a middle eastern broadsword, and began searching the room. Sounds of many small creature's claws scrabbling across the surface of the bells emanated from all around him. Suddenly a Horror burst out from the shadows and charged and Toruresu with a mighty roar. He muttered an magickal incantation to imbue his sword with energy but the monster had drained him of much of his manna. After a few agonizing seconds strands of blue energy sputtered to life across the Ram Dao's surface. Toruresu allowed a quick smirk of assurance before charging straight for the monster. In one sure stroke he lopped off two of the beast's three heads. The Horror was quick to retaliate and with a powerful swiping blow hurled Toruresu back into the largest of the bells. the Defender was able to reposition himself midair and used the bell as a launching surface to catapult up and above the beast. As he arced back down he positioned his mighty blade straight down and with a mighty yell, blue light flashing like and angel of doom, cleaved through the Horror's final head and continued on down the body splitting the beast in two as the Ram Dao buried itself in the stone floor nearly half of the blade's length.

Standing up in triumph, Toruresu abruptly felt a sharp pain in his back as a Roman gladius burst from his chest. He collapsed to the floor in shock. He looked up dazed; his vision quickly fading to black to see...Pious, the one and only Corrupt One, leader of the forces of Chattur'gha, gloating over his failing flesh and bone.

Meanwhile, the rest had gathered to put a vote against ones they thought were enemies in disguise. By a near unanimous vote, Nickmitch was determined to be Corrupt. No one stopped ponder why he put up no extraordinary fight. If someone like a Bonethief or Pious himself was about to be convicted there would have been a desperate fight like none had other seen. Instead, he just pleaded he was innocent and wept as he was drug off and put to death. Everyone had been so sure he was guilty of deception due to his frequent absences. But when no disguise disappeared to reveal an enemy and no hidden monster was found inside of him the others realized they had made a grave mistake.

~What happened~

Mafia hit Toruresu, the high Defender

Nickmitch, the townie, was voted out

Nickmitch 6
Thatguy 2

Day should end tomorrow and 12PM. Apologies for the delay today. It should not happen tomorrow.

VOTE STEVEY

We've had two days without a killer attack.  Either the killer's choosing not to kill or he just hasn't been around to make a hit.  stevey's the only player still alive who has barely been active this entire game.  He only posted once in the day two thread--and then only to comment on Khush's death--and he wasn't around at all for day III.  Plus, let's face it--Khush dying on day one strongly indicates that stevey is the killer.  Sure, it's the obvious answer; but sometimes the obvious answer is the best one.

There is the possiblity that toruresu protected me for the past 2 days. Also there is the possiblity that the Vampire prevented the kills from ever taking place.

What is this? IIII? Someone didn't learn their Roman numerals...

Anyways, after looking over some things, it seems likely to me that Vudu is Mafia.

Stevey at least makes some sense; nickmitch is always quiet, but you usually can't get stevey to shut up. Vudu also usually participates more than he has, but it seems like he just doesn't care.

Well, for whatever it's worth, I've been told the librarian found out stevey was a townie on the very first day.  Pick someone else to vote out other than stevey, or join the club on vudu, but stevey's a bad choice.

That makes sense; stevey's reckless, but he's smart enough not to kill Khush on day 1 and then laugh about it in the thread the next day.

Look at old clocks. Most old clocks with Roman numerals actually had 'IIII' instead of 'IV' for 4. Plus it is different and throws people for a loop. I should start doing other weird things to throw you all off. ;)

I've always thought it would be interesting to run a game where the host could be killed off and another person took his place. I'll have to try it some time.

Fine time for my computer to restart and run windows update. I delayed it last night and now I pay for that I suppose.

Tally:

Vudu-5
Stevey-1

Gonna be a bit longer for the new day to come up. But It will be up before 2PM my time as I have a work meeting at 3. I'm gonna do something special.
