I got excited for a second when I saw the title thinking that this was a C.O.P.S. game...

General Chat / Nintendo personal checks?
« on: May 06, 2007, 03:46:35 PM »
Has anyone ever seen Nintendo (or any video game or anime for that matter) themed personal checks? I've looked around some online but haven't been able to find anything.

Nintendo Gaming / Does the WiFi dongle require USB 2.0?
« on: December 10, 2006, 11:35:35 AM »
See subject.
My laptop doesn't have USB 2.0, just 1.1. Does anyone know if the WiFi dongle works with just USB 1.1, or am I gonna have to spend another fifty bucks on a 2.0 notebook card just to get my DS and Wii online?

At the 24hr Walmart near me there are already about 15-20 people in line outside for a PS3, and have been there since last night. And that's in a dinky little hick town mostly populated by migrant workers. Has me a little worried about prospects for a Wii...

I've only been able to find games at EB/Gamestop. The Target and Walmart I checked didn't have jack squat.

You're right, they were *not* supposed to do that. Games are Fun has a copy of a corporate email sent out here, and it says very specifically that they weren't supposed to do anything like that. You got jacked.

Don't suppose either of these are ports of the NES game. That was pretty decent.

Wow, when I saw the headline I thought that Nintendo was making a government or corporate game, something in the vein of Phoenix Wright. It's too early... ^_^:;;

I got my gold Zelda 64 and original Super Mario Bros signed by him the year Gamecube came out. I was in one of the side dark rooms watching Smash Bros Melee and he just randomly walked in. Was so cool. ^_^

Have you tried asking the people at Overclocked Remix? They could give you advice on what music is good and ideas on what to do with it, and if Nintendo doesn't go along with it you could still do the project for release on the net and they'd probably publicize it for you.

Don't bother asking E3. They'll just give you a copy and paste answer from the website. Best bet is to just try and push it. Worst thing that can happen is they say no.

I've been going since 2001, and the past two years I've gotten pre-registration emails that let you register with just a click if your creds were the same as the previous year (all on the honor system, they didn't actually check). But, I haven't gotten that email yet this year, which makes me think that the stories about entry requirements being a lot stricter this year may be true. Very disappointing, especially considering last year kinda sucked but this year was going to be great.

hm, now it says "If you are from the retail sector, you must be selected by your parent company to attend."
Selected by your parent company? What does that mean?

General Chat / Airport questions.

I'm going to be flying to Japan later this week and bringing a few consoles with me and was wondering if I should bring the memory cards through the x-ray or not.  And would there be any possibility that they security might give me trouble about having the consoles in my carryon? Like that I might have a bomb or something in them? I wouldn't think so but I suppose it's possible.
Thanks.

General Chat / Bringing consoles to Japan.

I'm going to be going to school in Japan next year, and of course I want to bring a few of my consoles with me, but one of my friends said that he thinks if I do that I'll have to pay a hefty tax to bring them into the country. Does anyone know anything about that?

So basically they just said they're putting all the cool stuff on PS2 and XBox and using the 'Cube as a dumping ground for their cute kid friendly stuff, kickass games though they may be. Lovely. -_-
