As was really surprised with the winner for "Best Nintendo DS Game" Sonic Chronicles, and even more surprised with the "Best Puzzle Game" De Blob.

E3 Awards 2008, Most Innovative

So now that I have some space to breathe, let me rundown my E3 this year.

Monday was a semi-normal day in the office uploading videos.

Once Tuesday started, the rest of the week kind of blurs together. I got to the office just before 7:00 and took the shuttle to the convention center. Met my camera man there, went to the Hotel Figueroa to talk to the guys about the Conduit, then had new appointments every hour, trying to squeeze as many games as possible into each one. I went to Eidos, Lucas, Namco, Midway, EA, and then sat in on a Tri-Ace roundtable interview which really didn't work for camera at all. I did go to the show floor once because I thought an appointment was supposed to be there, and I think it was smaller than last year.

Then I wrapped camera and headed back to the office. We had a meeting, then I slept under my desk for a couple hours since I was working the overnight shift - floor was harder than I anticipated. Uploaded and pulled down new videos until about 11 am. Went home to sleep for a few hours. Came back at 5:00 PM (with a sleeping bag in tow this time). Worked until about 5:15 AM. Slept under my desk (much better with sleeping bag) until 9:20 AM and then got up for my next shift which lasted until 6:00 PM or so.

If you haven't been able to keep up, this is Thursday night now. My girlfriend and I met up with the NWR crew for dinner in Little Tokyo - Jonny, Windy, TYP, Kairon, and Billy came. We had sushi, hung out for a while, than walked around and got some mochi ice cream.

Went home and passed out watching TV. Then headed back to work from about 3 in the afternoon until 4 in the morning. Then we came back in on Saturday to vote on E3 awards which took about 8 hours (including some hefty delays) and a couple more hours in additional meetings a couple days later. Much of this week was spent making sure nothing we shot got looked over and putting together the awards videos, but now I can finally say that I'm done with E3 stuff.

Why dont we ever see you or hear you speak?

That's just the way we cut the interviews. We're not hosts or anything, best to leave it to the point and let the answers speak for themselves. And you can see my reflection in the TV during the Dead Space walkthrough.

Hello there! Anyone still lurking here? Well, here's the newest if you are.

I still lurk, but I rarely check out any of the videos because they generally don't load on either of my computers.  :(

Game Videos > Game Trailers
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Eh? That doesn't make much sense to me. Most of the comments I've seen complain about GV taking forever to load. I dunno what the problem is, but if my seven year old clunker can play them, you should be able to. Even if you have to download the quicktime or something.

Yeah, to be fair Gametrailers is pretty accommodating as far as video games. Flash, WMV, or Quicktime. Site is much faster than gamevideos and usually faster than IGN. The flash video is fairly stable too, as opposed to Youtube or G4TV.

The site navigation still sucks though. ;)

I have zero problems playing videos from any other site, but 4 out of 5 GT videos won't play on either of my PCs.  It doesn't matter if the video is embedded or if I visit the site--when I hit play the options for SD or HD disappear but the video doesn't load.

I haven't been able to get a GameTrailers video to load lately either. I usually download them and watch them that way to completely avoid the flaws of flash video, but several of the ones I wanted recently weren't available that way and I wasn't able to watch them at all.
