Metroid Prime Trilogy Back in Stock at Gamestop for $84.99

Metroid Prime Trilogy is hot on the tail of Xenoblade Chronicles.

Metroid Prime Trilogy is back in stock at GameStop for $84.99, as part of GameStop's plan to bring back select "vintage" titles. Only pre-owned copies are available for purchase, and it's one of the harder to find titles on the Wii.

This is the second title we've seen in this new promotion, coming just a few days after Xenoblade Chronicles was brought back. According to the company, we should be seeing more releases of this nature "in the coming months."

GameStop saw the value of select Gamecube games skyrocket (FE:Path of Radiance comes to mind). Before they started clearing their GC stock, those games still went for $35-40. They're just stepping up their game quicker this time. Anyone want to take a guess and the future games? Here are some candidates with current used prices.

Fire Embem: Radiant Dawn - $65
One Piece Unlimited Adventure - $50
Super Mario All-Star Limited Edition - $55
Kirby's Dream Collection - $30

I could see Mario All-Star.  Fire Emblem would surprise me and, if they're really getting reprints, One Piece might be a licensing nightmare.

Kirby's Dream Collection?  Naw.  I don't get the impression it sold well or that people really cared about it.

A savvy GameStop exec would get Nintendo to reprint Mario All-Stars, Metroid Prime Trilogy, Kirby's Dream Collection and a new version of the Zelda Collector's Edition disc that will run on all Wiis and Wii U systems, then bundle the four games together as the "Ultimate Nintendo Collection" :D
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

Isn't that what happened to Metroid Prime Trilogy, though? You will find Dream Collection in the bargain bin, but eventually all copies will be scooped up and the price will skyrocket. Maybe not now, but in a year or two. I would even argue GameStop doing this will actually make prices go up faster than normal. Any Wii game selling over $30 used is a candidate for the GS "vintage" treatment.
