Any chance you can give a bulleted list of the changes?

The rules are short enough that there isn't that much to read... but I'll give a brief summary.

We called out specifically what we consider trolling and derailing and made both against the rules.

All "you broke the rules" comments from other users are now against the rules. We expect everyone to start using the report to moderator link.

Besides that, there is a new and standardized moderation guide that utilizes the warning system built into the forum software. I urge everyone to read that section so they understand when penalties will kick in and what not.

What if somebody reports a post which was made before the rule change? Is that still going to be moderated under the new rules?

Yes, everything is moderated under new rules as of now.

I have to congratulate S-U-P-E-R (Ty). Even now, I'm still catching things that show off his genius. If you look at his post about the rules, it was made on April 1. April Fools Day. The whole thing is a joke. I congratulate you sir on being able to fool so many people for so long. A true forum ace.

Big thanks to Pale for getting these rules together.

Please, if anybody sees these rules being broken, use the report function.  That's what it's there for.

How can I see a user's warning level?

To see everyone (along with their warning messages) you need to be a mod :P

That's stupid.  How am I supposed to know that Pro's a jerk and I should avoid his posts?

So you can't see them by looking at their profile? I need to make a dupe so I can see what non-mods see.

I found the feature to turn it on so everyone can see them, but thinking about this, that info doesn't need to be broadcast to the world.

I believe users can currently see if another user is being watched, which means their warning level is about 25%. That should be all the info you need.

Except you can't see this information if you're using the default forum theme.  :(

Man, I wonder if the rest of the staff would freak if I changed the default forum theme.

I can't see my own [X] Watched marks.

I'm using the Core good theme.  Please fix, webmasters.

STFU, go out and buy a videogame for ANY system you own and don't base your purchase on a review, just play the thing and see if you have fun.

So I should just drop $30-60 willy-nilly without any research in a shotgun approach and hope that I don't waste my money and find a game I love?  Should I do this on iTunes as well and just rent movies at random from Blockbuster?  No, I'm not going to do that because I'm not an idiot.  There's nothing wrong with doing some research to narrow down purchase options.  If a game's concept sounds interesting to me then I will give it more of a chance even if the reviews are iffy.  But there are many third party Wii games where:

A. I'm not interested in the concept.
B. I don't trust the developer involved.
C. I'm not part of the game's target demo in the first place.
D. The game gets crapped on in reviews.

Why the crap would I risk my time and money on a game like this?

Ian, why should a 3rd party developer try to satisfy you when:

A.) There are tons of customers who are interested in the concept.
B.) There are tons of customers who don't know/don't care about "developers".
C.) There are tons of customers who do fit into their target demographic.
D.) There are tons of customers who don't even realize there are websites and magazines that review video games.

You are a very small fish in a very large pond, Mr. Sane.
