Why does Luthor have to be in it again?  He has been in every movie for goodness sake.  Enough of him already.  How about someone that Supes can actually punch without fear of splattering them all over the country.  When has anyone seen live a decent live action superman fight? Never.  Only in cartoons.  Bring on Darksied, or Doomsday or someone.  Brainiac is something, but I hope it doesn't end up like a Brainiac cameo.

Man, I liked Brandon Routh, he was a good Superman. I'll bet they'll **** up the casting for this one.

Routh was a pretty good superman. If I were to do a superman movie I would have it take place in the 40s, i would go back to basics. In the 40s before he got all his origins and before he even had much of an alter ego he was sort of a ruff and tumble badass. He would just come in and fling around the bad guys left and right, pick up big things that got in his way, and all sorts of stuff. Superman's casting is really hard because he is the idealized male, they could find all sorts of people, but would they be good actors. One of my ideas for a superman movie is a superman movie not about superman. Some crazy stuff is happening, a war is going on, and people are just caught in the middle of the action, and superman comes out of nowhere. That'd be a great intro at least.

The main problem with Routh is that he was cast as a Reeves Superman replacement and never got to be his own Superman. It's time to make a NEW Superman for the 2000's and the last Superman movie was not a good way to do that.

Am I the only non-comicbooker that liked 3?

I didn't think 3 was so bad.

Yeah that movie looks pretty good. That one black chick is banging as ****.

Is it? ... Yes it is! Zoe Saldana! Nice to see her career on an upward path. I first noticed her in Pirates of the Caribbean, but she's definitely been an actress to watch for ever since Guess Who in my book.

Edit: OMG! Now I remember where I first noticed her! The Terminal!

Can someone tell me what Paul Greengrass' new movie with Matt Damon is all about? What's the difference between a Bourne movie?

Also I was excited about (insert Roashacks real name here) getting the part but after that trailer.. i dunno. His delivery was just off putting, and honestly I think i'll miss the cheesey jokster Freddy..

as a remake it looks like it captures the originals scariness pretty well, as well as having the best kills from the series. If they are going to do Freddy, they shouldn't try to copy Robert Englund. I would have gone in a different direction, but it looks like it will be pretty good.I've got the whole series and i watched Freddies Dead a week ago. I started to write a script with a similar premise, but it would be waaay different.

I'm wondering about that travel suit. Though it seems pretty neat to have it all in a compressed form like that. But shouldn't it be really heavy?

So there was a test screening for the "The Last Airbender"....It wasn't the final version and there was about 30 minutes of film left out.

Concensus: If you're a fan, you won't hate it. If you're not, you won't like it.

Either way, I can't wait to see it for the CGI alone (which I heard was ridiculously awesome).

I just wanna raise awareness of what is likely to be the most badKICK-ASS SuperHero movie of the yeardecade.

"Kick-Ass"

Studio: Lions Gate
Director: Matthew Vaughan
Starring: Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Nicolas Cage and Christopher Mintz-Plasse
Rating: R
Release: April 16, 2010
Trailer: Redband Trailer #1 (NSFW) | Redband Trailer #2 (NSFW)
Posters: Poster #1 | Poster #2 | Poster #3 | Poster #4
Quote
The film tells the story of average teenager Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson), a comic-book fanboy who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. As any good superhero would, he chooses a new name — Kick-Ass — assembles a suit and mask to wear, and gets to work fighting crime. There’s only one problem standing in his way: Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers. His life is forever changed as he inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted violent and unpleasant characters, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes, including an 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo, Hit Girl (Chloë Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicolas Cage).

IGN Review - 5/5
Quote
Cracking conversation is pointless if delivered by a cast of no-hopers, however, and mercifully Kick-Ass features note-perfect performances throughout, both from the seasoned pros and the many fresh faces on display.
[...]
For that very reason, Kick-Ass is as good a superhero movie as has yet been made -- storytelling of the very highest order, crafted by experts who know, love and treat the subject matter with the respect it deserves.

The result is utterly compelling from start-to-finish; an adaptation that perfectly captures the anarchic nature of the comic while at the same time eliciting unexpected emotions from a film about a crime-fighting kid in a wet-suit.

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll squeal in delight at the outrageous behaviour of a little girl in a purple cape. But most of all, you'll wish that all superhero movies were like this.

Chud Review - 10/10
Quote
I know there must be flaws in Kick-Ass. Maybe when the final score is put over the film it won't have quite the propulsive quality that this temp track gave it. Maybe a second viewing will reveal some cracks in the veneer. All I know is that the moment the film ended I wanted to see it again. It took me a couple of minutes to really get into the movie, but once I was in I was completely sold. Kick-Ass ends with the possibility of more adventures, and I want to see them all. I want to return to this hyper-violent, awesome world and get lost in laughs and sympathetic pain again. Kick-Ass is a movie that will have you on your feet, cheering your fucking guts out.
