Well at least they show Corneria... now all I need to see is Final Destination and my Melee stages of choice will have all been added in.

I'm hoping the Jump Fiesta stuff won't be mentioned at all, except maybe for this Kirby eating items thing, but just for clarity.

Looks like we're going to be spending the next two weeks riddled with updates limper than a room full of viagra users jonesin for their fix...

Sigh...

Let's not jump to conclusions. I am giving Sakurai till Friday. If the whole week was garbage THEN we can rag the hell out of him.

Mmmm...I'll take the jump from 20 to 25 stages...

(Which I'll add is by FAR superior to the crappy "classic" stages that were included in Melee...)

The only level I'm still curious about is Sonic's level (and possibly Bowser's castle).

What I am VERY curious about is the final number of EVERYTHING in the name. The number of trophies, the number of ATs, the number of stages, the number of characters, the number of songs and the number of stages that will be in the final game.

Right now, the final number of stages is incomplete. So far there are 26 stages, including the classic stages. The Mario and Metroid franchises are already represented with two stages each. The only ones left are Zelda, Kirby, Donkey Kong, Kid Icarus, Fire Emblem, Star Fox, Wario, Pokemon, Mother/Earthbound, Sonic and Metal Gear.

I want to know how much content the are able to cram onto the 4 gig DVD. I know they can but what's important is if they want to.

On one hand, this update was totally not worth waiting a week and a half for. On the other hand, with Corneria confirmed, that confirms my and my friends' two favorite Melee stages (Hyrule Temple and Corneria).

Personally, I only care about final roster count. Unless you can create your own characters as well, then they're the only substantial unknown left for the game.

I can make my own levels so I've no reason to worry about not having enough levels, remember.

I would hope that for a game like this they'd be using the dual-layered discs that hold up to 9.7 gigs, especially considering the amount of music they've promised.

I have to agree. It was a good update, but considering that they didn't update the site for a whole and this would be the first update of 2008 they could've at least talked about something BRAND NEW. Not a huge megaton, but at least something fun and very pleasing.

Like I said earlier, I am going to wait to see how the whole week goes. If by Friday the whole week turned out to be crappy then we can officially declare that we will NOT see any megatons till after the game is released, and even then the megatons will be dropped by the fans and not the official site.

EDIT: Oh and the for the record, when I talk about the final number of stages, I am only counting the Nintendo theme ones. If you count the user created stages then yeah, the number's infinite. But I want to know how many Nintendo stages will be in the final game.

Well the thing to remember is Melee was done on 1.5 gig min disk.  Now since Melee was an early Gamecube game I doubt it even came close to filling up the disk.

So in other words, if Brawl takes up most of the full 4 gig's on the Wii's disk, it should be able to get about 3-4 times the amount of content Melee had in it.  And if they duel layer it like insanolord said, then this game could have 8-10 times the amount of content Melee did.

Of course I don't know if they'll need 9.7 gigs for the game but if the game does end up taking that much data, then Iwata should give Sakurai is own private island since he'd would have defiantly earned it.  And since Nintendo now owns Japan, I'm sure Iwata could easily find an island since they have hundreds of them.

This was a good update. I think we can all appreciate the glimpse at the new wire frame fighters from Melee. I just wish there were online co-op events, but that doesn't seem so.

I liked this update. I just love the fact how Brawl is a TRUE multiplayer as every mode will have some sort of multiplayer option.

Although, I know not everyone will spend time on multi-man Brawls.

It's possible that the Meteos guys were the inspiration, though they aren't identical...The Yellow Alloy also looks a bit like an Animal Crossing Villager...
