NWR Mafia Games / Mafia L: Pie Oh Pie! (Day 6)

"We will only overcome this adversity by uniting and purging the Un-Pure among us.", said a tall man on a Make-Shift Pedestal. He was wearing what looked like a cloth radiation suit with a screen where the clear plastic would be some would say more of an impeccably clean bee keeper suit. Either way, The Leader thought, the crowd loved the mystique in the Wardrobe. When did these speeches become so routine they no longer needed him to invest in them. His former life skills have been serving him well. For in the land of the blind the One Eye man is king.

"For today I have found another. An Un-Pure among us. Apdude is not who you think he is my Children. How can any normal man drink that much Coffee..."

On a Rooftop of a building Some Way off...
Sat a man of Average build leaning over looking through a pair of binoculars. He had a grizzled looking face with a rough red aged beard framed by a beat up hat and a trench coat. Underneath this shabby exterior he wore a short sleeve dress shirt and blue jeans. Both seeing there fair share and some of wear but ironed wrinkly free and crisp with military precision. Sitting beside him was a cup of coffee and some pumpkin pie. The pie was harder to get then you would think.

"****," he mumble to himself and took a sip of his coffee.

Apdude was glad he taken the extra step of bugging the platform. Thoroughness often paid off at odd times. Looking through the binoculars again to get a good view. He was also glad that he had made it a point to bring these as one of the few items he could bring along with himself, if he didn't have such wonderful binoculars they be nothing but specs of dust in the horizon right now.

Time for the show. Apdude presses a button.
He sees an eruption just big enough to kill one man happening right in front of the feet of The Leader. A shield of sorts instantly surrounds him redirecting the force to either side taking out the background behind him. The Leader stumbled slightly and started back in.

"You can see that my cause is righteous and Just, For even God protects me."

I should of known The Interferer was here since the Old Foe was as well. Time to relocate for a bit I know a place where their likes of that gathering are not allowed or welcomed plus I could play a few hands of cards while things died down.

With that he turns sharply around and jumped off the 4 story building leaving his coffee and pie. Right before he hit the ground, his momentum started to fade to that of a mere hop allowing him a soft landing. Where he was going was just a few blocks down in the Shadier portion of town.

This part of town had always been rough and by some sheer ironic coincidence or a mean joke by the DESC builders it was now under where one of the massive supports for the Dome was. The designers had put up artificial lights to help mitigate the effects of the positioning but during the day the place was never as bright as the rest of the city.

Apdude came up to a non-descript door and knocks twice then says, "I know your mother and it only took a nickel." Why did these places have to have such bad code phrases? The door opened with a puff of smoke coming out. The smokey room had a bar to the left with a nice worn wood finish, a few sets of tables, and a stage with a variety of acts going on that you could never see in a movie theatre. Though where Apdude was interested in was the room beyond where four card tables where setup.

Upon coming in, "Why hi their Apdude. Your ready for a friendly game?" a rather large man dressed in a white suite with matching hat asked. I wouldn't really call the stakes of these games friendly but, no risk meant little reward.

"Why Mike, you know me. Always up for a nice fair game." I had caught him last week cheating. He found out why I carry this shark bit Hockey stick.

"Here's you coffee Mr.Apdude," a pleasing to the eyes waitress handed me my drink of choice and we started to play.

All in all been a fairly good evening of cards. I had more than what I started with that night but, not so much so to make any new enemies. I notice noise starts coming from the front.

"I know he's in their let me in," someone yells, and a rather large two mans worth of Asian comes ripping through the door with a sheet in his hand. I feign not noticing.

He comes up to me and put a sheet in front of my eyes.

"Is that you?" It was a wanted poster with my likeness on it and quiet a large sum, though the nose was all wrong. Why did they always get the nose wrong? Knowing it was a rhetorical question I leaned back hard in my chair knocking the man back and quickly standing up. Seeing an opportunity to recoup some of the losses that have been incurred on my account, I said I didn't make any new enemies didn't mean I didn't have them, others started to join in.

"Go Sharks," I mumbled as I swing my hockey stick at my newest combatants. I couldn't use the more powerful pieces of my arsenal in such close quarters without risking bringing the whole place down. With a variety of full swings and quarterstaff maneuvers I had studied I made my way to the door when....

I woke up bound missing my hockey stick at the police station moving to somewhere on what could only be a dolly with straps.

"This whole voting thing has been a mess. I don't know how much more this town can take."
"Lets just get this one to the Kill room while he's still out."

I overheard two officers say. Then the dolly stops and pushed out a little bit. I hear the close and lock of a sizeable door. After all I've been through. Death by Flash incineration, was not how I thought it would end. At least I can take comfort in knowing that somewhere at some time a lot of people just lost a few bets.

When the officers opened the chamber to remove what was left of Apdude an odd site greeted them. Where their should had been just a pile of ash and a dolly there was a set of metal legs. One full the other partial like a partial exoskeleton connected by a metallic hip. Plus a shiny round marble with an eerie sheen to it from the fire was in the actual ash pile.

"Science will want to see this."

The legs never made it to the Science department. What had become referred to as the Mafia within town had determined that the tech of one of its members would be too advanced to hand over and had liberated it from a life of study and uncaring.

In another part of town untouched and unknowing of the ruckus.

I never liked him, he thought, he was always better than I was.

"We shall stop that from happening, (Headless men only succeed at one thing.)"

They stalked towards the man nearing striking distance when a heavenly aroma hit their nose and circle piece of goodness caught their eyes. It was pie. How did anyone get the fresh ingredients for Pie? Immediately all the thoughts the man had of revenge and leveling of play was gone with his one desire, Pie. They briskly changed pace stalking the pie less it might become aware of his presence and escape.

"What are you doing? (Is that Pie?); He is over there, (We cannot reach him for Misfortune); Thwarted by Pie,(Undone by the round goodness.)"

Little did the man know that his life was spared that day due to a piece of pie.

After todays run in with Stratos, jrlibrarian thought it was time he got out of this town. He Hurries back to the Municipal Library. Once there he went to the "Dry Goods" section and found a certain book. "The Seasonal Drying of Beans in the Northwest." I quick pull on the book and a whir later the book shelf had moved to the side expose a slightly winding staircase below.
jrlibrarian quickly goes down the stairs after taking a light from a hook to the side. The room that it lead to was like any other secret room. Large, cluttered, and dusty. Towards the center was what jrlibrarian came for. A ship.
The ship had a glass dome top, two dishes pointing forward, and a set of rockets. This will get me out of town jrlibrarian thought. He started the Pre-flight sequence.

"Morning John."
"Morning Laecie."

*shrrrrrrr*

"Wonder what that is?"

*shrrrrrr*
*tink*
*Crrrrsh*

"For goodness sakes... What are they putting in the coffee down there?"
"Come on John, grab the torch we probably need to fix that."

Breaking news: What appears to be a spaceship has crashed on Main Street. Several citizens have said they saw the ship launching from the Municipal Library. Where it rose furiously into the air just to come back down. And now to are consultant the Prophetic Chicken.

NWR Mafia Games / Mafia L: A Tale of Two Citizens (Day 4)

Toruresu, Toruresu, Where are you Toruresu . Where is that Darn Townie. You have a bit of work and he goes missing.

"Lets go get NickMitch," the leader states. He had raised from his late misfortune to find himself a band of followers in this trying times. Now it is time to start to use them to his will.

"The Vote is in He is the Accused. We citizens can handle people like him." Making a quick gesture with his hands he guides the formings of a mob down the street.

"There he is", one yells.

NickMitch turns around.

The first townie rushes him.

"Whats going on..."

He throws the townie off and takes a step back into a charge position.

"You can't HANDLE THIS," yells NickMitch, as raw energy start crackling around him and his shirt explodes into tatters.

The Leader urges his followers on.

NickMitch Fights valiantly, leaving scars into the city but, he is soon over ran by sheer numbers.

The Leader looks down at NickMitch now lifeless corpse and take stock of his own collateral damage. It was clear he was a just a Townie after all. Never the matter. Sometimes you have to break a few eggs to make an omellette.

In the park, at a nice bench earlier that day...

Toruresu knew he was close to a turning point in his life as he sat on his special bench for lunch.

Beans and Tuna Sandwich, thought Toruresu, lunch of champions.

"You know what I think your Face Looks like Toruresu?"

Toruresu turns around to find no one.

"I thnk it looks like the middle of a Marble, (Covered Shiny Round)"

"Yes, a marble."

Toruresu feels a tap on his shoulder and turns around when...

*shhhhh*

*pop*

"People compress well, (Take up less space). They become very shiny, (Nice when Polished). Don't mistake me you have gotten me off course with another diversion, (so easily distracted). Next time I will find you, (You will be mine.)"

The man in a coat looks down at the marble in his hand and thinks, I couldn’t have done it better myself.

"You", the dark entity roared. Despicable looks behind him. What he sees is sheer hatred. He can't help but think it has something to do with his fedora hat and nice mustache as he turns and runs as fast as his legs could carry him.

"Do you really think that will help you (He runs like a rat in maze)," the Horror bemoaned to him. Black figures start to spawn from the entity as a sheer grin starts to show in the in the missing light.

He keeps running, soon losing sight of the monstrosity. Once he feels safe he slows down for a rest. I need a drink or something to wipe my brow with Despicable thinks. Someone passes him handkerchief.

"Why thank you," as he looks over a dark bowler hat has started to devour his arm.

Ahhhh AHhhh.

"We caught him, (Teach the Interlopers); We will be Victorious, (To the Victors go the Spoils); Didn't he know that Bowler Hats are the Best Type, (Oh So lovely.)" The entity mosey over, flicking a bit or two of its handy work out of the way.

Looking down, "Seems this one is a diversion, (Time is Durable.) Not the Ones We seek, (the Old Foe is coming.) We shall find another, (A Better)."

The entity left leaving a shell of a man behind. The man looks down in horror seeing what he was a party to. "What have I done, he was just a Townie."

In another part of town...

Mop it Up looks down at a list she had jotted down. Let's see what's next. Rubber duckie with Red Spots needed to be placed on the Corner of South and Main. Gold Bull statue turned 34 Degrees Southwest. blah blah blah. She wonders how she went from a full field commander to an errand girl. A glorious mission command had told her. Critical to the success of the future they said. What Power does a rubber duckie have anyway. At least she lucked out; She heard Brando had gotten assigned to the salt mines of 834.

She shuttered just at the thought.

"Hello Mam, are you Miss M.I. Up?"

He was somewhat ruggedly handsome.

"I do Believe I am," slightly fanning herself for effect, "What, may I ask, is this about besides my captivating looks, darling?"

"Under the authority given to me you are under arrest in accordance to the temporary voting act of 20xx."

It will be a shame about his looks. Quickly Miss Up swirls around hurling acid at the officer.

If I can only make it to the safe house, she thinks as she slides down the road as fast as possible.

She feels a set of bulls running into her back as enough voltage runs through her to light the Rockefeller Plaza Christmas Tree. At least it wasn't salt she thinks.

After getting there man into the ambulance the backup goes to see if Mop it up survived.

"Wow, what do we have here, that’s not a women that’s a large piece of escargot."

The Autopsy official determined that Mop it Up was indeed awfully slimey and lacking any real legs. Using the facts present it was ruled that she was Mafia.

A number of Years currently after The Mira Event...

Tom Sheffield is not a lucky man. Just this morning his shoe split while stepping into a puddle. A puddle in a town with scheduled rain. He was a man of low-average means trying to keep a family. When something caught his eye a Rubber Duck with a Red spot. His son would love it and no one has claimed it. In fact it seems to had been here a while...

Jonathon Clark Sheffield stepped onto the duck shaped mud rug of his office. The office was small and full of various study materials. Where there wasn't study materials there where rubber ducks, peeps, painted ducks, etc. He has loved ducks since his childhood. Especially his first one with the Red Spot. In fact they have became the focus of his automaton project. With there cute bodies and their themic Resilience ducks made the perfect AI Platform...

It works, thought Jonathon C. Sheffield. Never having any kids of his own he was delighted to final have a son. Rubert Sheffield or Rub for short. He dared anyone to find a more perfect little boy. He just cooed when he saw his yellow son russelling around...

Today was a sad day for Rubert Sheffield. His father had died. No one came to the funeral. That was when Rub started wondering the stars trying to find a place of his own. On the edge of known space he eventually found peace and materials. For Rubert thought, it was time to start a family of his own...

So as told by my father and he told by his father that is the Proud start of the Space Faring race of Robo-Duckions. Brokers of Peace. Mediators of Balance. Dispensers of Retribution. Preventers of Howard the Duck.

The execution was precise and orderly. Much as a robot would like.
Sad thing he was just a townie. Even though he had loose fingers.

"What are these agents doing? Only one go getter in the group. Are you sure we picked the best for this task?"

T minus 2 Weeks ago

DeJoinny, Breaths in the crisp Morning Air. Besides the Messiness with Mayor Geordie for the last few days things where shaping up to be working out to be going quiet swell.
Shame the paperwork follows you. Lets see Road Repair, City Cleanup Reporting the Lost and Found is filling up, Maintenance Reporting odd Building damage, a murder towards the south side of town, etc. Oh, Miss Tommy... out here this could only mean trouble.

"Sir, in light of these recent developments," Miss Tommy waves to the papers, "the City Council given us the unenviable position of enforcing a Quarantine for the City. Here are few options to carry this out."

Lets see about these:
1.Posted Guards at all entrance and exits.
2.Lock all doors and Windows to everywhere.
3.Close all transportation. Remove the Towns Gas.
4.Recently postponed Domed Energy Storm Collector DESC.

I quickly added one of my own, Remove Population, though who would vote for me then? Probably less paperwork but, none of these option are voter friendly anyway.

"Why should I pick any of these options?"

"Because some are better than others," quipped Tommy though her spectacles and up do.
4 looked interesting.

"Tell me about this dome," waving my hands dismissively.

"The Domed Energy Storm Collector is a Solar\Wind Farm that would cover the whole City regulating inside temperature to a degree and eliminating unscheduled rain fall. Plus the water collection should help replenish the City's reservoir. The most innovative portion is a central power generator that will attempt to harvest Cyclonic winds and A new flash charge battery system to harvest Lightning strikes. "
She adjusted her Glasses.
"The Dome has been ready and schedule for assembly for a while the only problem is... Exits were not build to proper scale size. Which would work to are favor in this situation. The estimated time to allowing of Free travel the replacement parts should be in and ready to allow for regular traffic flow."

"So what I heard is we can go through a lot of pain now for clear benefits at Election time. Lets go with that plan."

Now were going to get back to this walk. I wonder if I could just burn these papers...

That was when the construction of the Great Dome began.

Today

"You never going to catch us Coppers," Spouted Loyal with his ice tipped Neo-Mohawk as the car goes speeding down through the town.

They boys turns down the road. "Man there has to be enough money in this bags to get a Million cups of coffee," Jar lamented while counting through the goods.
"There's a road down the way Dude, my Family has been passing down its location since prohibition. I'm sure their be no guards."

O'Hare: Suspects making there way to the Dome Perimeter and will soon be to the clear zone. Adjusting chase speed accordingly.

"Ah ha, look at that I think we're going ot lose the Beat."

Up high above the city,

"Hey John hows the kids."
"Doing good, things really haven't changed for them. How about that Doll of yours Laecie?"
"She's still worried about getting her special shampoo. Women and their priorities."

*Little explosion sound, well from here at least, while a small fire cloud comes up from what looks to be a model train setup.*

The Sun rises in a town. A town like any other, maybe warmer than others; A town with the problems that comes with any town of size. Except...
O'Hare: I can't explain it. It looks like the Mayor was politely asked to split apart and complied. This wall just moved from the slice as well.

"We will sow the Seeds of Discord; Break them Down; Rebuild them."

Unexplained events have been occurring in town as of late. The acting mayor has declared a state of emergency.
AM: Due to recent developments, police man-power is limited. In this State of Emergency our only hope to counter this crisis is to put our faith into the Democratic process so beloved by our founders. I hereby deputize and confine the Citizenship of our fair town. May the eyes of the many punish the Sins of the few.

Mop It Up, Mafia, was voted out and killed during capture. Where her less than Terrestrial status was determined.

Day 3:
Toruresu, Townie, began his new calling as a marble.
NickMitch, Townie, showed his immense power to no avial except for overtime to City Maintenance. Huzzah! Overtime! *grumble*

Day 4:
jrlibrarian had a close call with the Townie Statos being driven by The Madness, which he survived.
Then he had a close call with the roof of DESC, which he didn't survive.

Day 5:
The Leader had a close call with the Mafia and Apdude was betrayed by the underworld for a sizeable reward. Oh, and their was pie.

Day 6:
Dasmos was found by The Leader but instead of an enemy he found a tool he could use to his benefit. That night, guided by The Madness, The Leader found RABicle who was half the "man" he use to be.

The NFI has prepared this document for Citizenship as a refresher during this trying time.

I. Roles
a. The Madness
i. must choose a target
ii. Target needs to be in 1 hour before Voting Cut-off or one will be chosen for you (including you)
iii. Cannot use abilities while effected
1. Examples
a. Inspector couldn’t inspect
b. Mafia couldn’t vote for Hit or receive their member reveal
iv. 50% chance to kill desired target
1. attempt is not guaranteed to be known
2. kill will be known
v. Mafia Hit Target
1. 50% chance to Kill Mafia Hitter
a. This will be done instead of the given target
b. Kill will always be known
c. Player with The Madness will survive if Mafia is killed
d. If Mafia kill goes through normal Madness kill rules go through (see I.a.iii)
vi. The Saving Spirit and The Madness Interaction
1. Sanity gained from The Saving Spirit Protection
a. Returns the player back to a their original state
b. If saved before action cutoff actions may be used unless The Madness action has already taken place
c. Survive
i. Madness will be informed who was the Saving Spirit
ii. Saving Spirit will know who was The Madness
d. The Saving Spirit and The Madness will be out of play the next day
vii. Day Action
1. May issue a Kill during the day
2. 75% Chance to Reveal Role
3. Saving Spirit and Madness will be known to each other if Saving Spirit prevents
4. Mafia counter hit Mechanic is negated on successful kill
5. Victim
a. Pre-kill Designated actions of the Victim will go through
b. Once informed of being dead consider yourself in limbo till a story post reveals your dead
6. You cannot have a Day and Night target
7. All normal rules apply except where otherwise stated
viii. Vote
1. If Night kill is completed successfully
a. Considered escaped
b. Will survive vote kill
2. Being put back to normal from The Saving Spirit will insure your death because you’re a normal joe
3. Someone with The Madness may Vote par Normal
ix. Affected player cannot be the Target for The Saving Spirit or The Madness for the next day
b. Inspector
i. 1 player a night to inspect
ii. Inspection will reveal all Roles
1. Examples
a. Ceric: The Madness; Townie
b. Cat Tank: Mafia
iii. Death
1. 50% chance for Inspector to have the information relayed to a living player
2. 50% chance for the information to be relayed to the dead Inspector
3. Designating player for relay
a. Send in a player at time of Inspection Action Request
b. Host will ask if none are designated and the roll turns gives the inspection to the Live player
i. At this point you are considered dead
iv. While effected by The Madness no Inspection can occur
c. Mafia
i. Hit Vote
1. 1 vote per member
2. Majority wins
3. Ties broken by random chance
4. May vote “No Hit” to forego killing anyone that night
5. No Vote = No Hit as well
6. Hit Vote must be in 1 hour before Voting finishes
ii. Internal Mafia Reveal Mechanic
1. Mafia Starts unknown to each other
2. Random player will be chosen for the Mafia member to investigate
3. Member will be told exclusively
a. Name of Members who are Mafia
b. If someone is The Saving Spirit or The Madness
c. Example 1
i. Ceric is really Mafia but he has The Saving Spirit
ii. Cat Tank random inspect lands on Ceric
iii. Cat Tank is told Ceric was The Saving Spirit
d. Example 2
i. Ceric is Mafia
ii. Cat Tank random inspect lands on Ceric
iii. Cat Tank is told Ceric is Mafia
e. Example 3
i. Ceric is a Townie
ii. Cat Tank random inspect lands on Ceric
iii. Cat Tank is told Nothing (well maybe some flavor text)

4. Will be at least 1 per night but I reserve the right to go faster if need be
iii. Mafia members will have series of additional customization to their characters to make for story purposes. These will be PMed with roles.
d. The Saving Spirit
i. May target 1 player to be safe for that night
ii. Target needs to be selected by 1 hour before the end of Voting
iii. The Saving Spirit and The Madness Interaction

Roles:
The Madness: The Madness has taken you. You must now choose a target to have a chance to kill it .
At night: The mechanic works as a 50% chance to kill a target since madmen are sloppy, attempt is not guaranteed to be known. If someone effected by The Madness is the target of a Mafia Hit there is a 50% chance that instead of performing their intended kill the randomly chosen Mafia Hitter will be killed instead this will be known and the entity with The Madness will survive otherwise they will die from the Mafia hit. Someone with The Madness will receive sanity when protected by The Saving Spirit. Since The Madness is effectively countered you return back to your normal state instead of being safe for the night. If you survive both The Madness and The Saving Spirit will be known to each other in the Morning. The Madness and The Saving Spirit will need more time to find viable hosts after this countering and will not be in play the next night. Also any role that has an ability will not be able to use them while affected by The Madness.
Day: Since Madness is mad someone with The Madness may strike during the day but, run a 75% chance to reveal their role in doing so. If Countered by The Saving Spirit you will both be known to each other for that day. Victims will be informed regardless of Reveal if the kill is successful. Any action that is designated before the kill will count if after will not. Once the kill happens consider yourself dead at that point. All rules apply.
Vote: If someone with The Madness is voted out but successfully completes there kill for the night, not during the day, it is deemed they have escaped. Hence being put back to a normal state by The Saving Spirit will guarantee death from vote.
Essentially someone effected by The Madness can only cause 1 death.

Inspector: Chooses 1 person to inspect per night. This inspection will always happen except for if the Inspector is taken during the day or has The Madness. Inspections will reveal all roles, ex. it could reveal Ceric: Townie, The Madness. If the Inspector is removed from play for any reason during the night they may choose 1 player to have a 50% chance to relay the inspections results. If the results are successfully relayed the inspector will not be told if they are not the inspector will be told what their dieing inspection was. With this mechanic the Inspector will have the honor of knowing they were removed from play before the morning story. They may also choose to just designate someone when they put their target in.

Mafia: 1 hour before the Vote is up all votes must be in for a hit. If there is no votes for a target or if the majority of mafia give a vote of "No Hit" there will be no target for the night. Initially the Mafia will not know one another. There will be at least 1 reveal attempt a night but, I reserve the right to modify how fast/often reveals will happen. In a typical night every Mafia Member will randomly have a player catch their eye. They will not know who that player is. If it turns out that the random player is a mafia member the observing player will be informed who they are. Here's the other wrinkle. If the randomly chosen player is affected by either The Madness or The Saving Spirit regardless of true role/faction the mafia member will be told only that they are the The Madness or The Saving Spirit for that night. Further hidden customization for story purposes will be allowed for Mafia Members, more in PM.

The Saving Spirit: You may target 1 individual to be safe during the night phase. The target must be put in by 1 hour before the end of voting. If the target is effected by The Madness you will save the target from The Madness thus turning them normal. Normal meaning that while you have saved a life from The Madness they are now no longer safe from Votes and Hits.

Townie: Look Cute and Vote ;P
Voting:
Day: Voting Period (Was thinking 9a-9p CST)
Night: Non-Voting Period (Was thinking 9p-9a CST)

Voting: From 9a-8p CST you may change your vote. Once 8p CST comes around whatever your last vote is will be final. If you have not voted yet from 8p-9p you are allowed to place a single vote that cannot be changed. Votes will only be taken in the public vote thread. All other actions will need to be PMed.
Setting: This Mafia will take place in a town about the size and density of Chicago. The year will be 20xx so Robots while not common are starting to integrate into society. If you really want to play one you can. Life has yet to be found on other planets so, there are no aliens. I’m pretty flexible on what the common denizens of the world is just nothing to way out there. In general there needs to be a common whatever.
Win Condition: Last Mafia is dead or Last Mafia is possessed by The Saving Spirit.
Signup: April 18, 2011 – April 23, 2011
Game: Roles go out on April 24, 2011 and the first day is April 25, 2011. April 26, 2011 will be the first day that action results are given, and The Madness and The Saving Spirit will come into play.

There was a who posted this game back in the day if someone wants to revive that that's cool. I was looking at a few first posts, including member 31st for kicks and looked at mine... Man did I hit the ground running and my Third post was about Legend of Zelda 2 lol...

The last thing we need at launch is Mario stuck in a new click game, I know the Mario Sports titles are fun and so is Mario Party but no one consider them true hardcore Mario games.

So as I say it's new IP to the bat.

Also I think it be neat if the tutorial thing unlocks your free "random downloads." In actuallity it probably be best that 1 was already on the disk and walked you through the process offline and then the other you get when you connect and fully set things up to go online. Because face it I just got my Wireless router and I'm a geek. So what do you think that thy mere mortals will have from the get go? -Ceric

My son's birthday is coming up and I'm suppose to have punch...
Being a new parent I have not yet been passed down thy Holy Punch Recipe of Parenthood.

I'm looking for good non-alcoholic punch from the more cooking/partying inclined NWRers. I promise after April 16th I will have goofy pictures of people drinking punch on a train possibly with hats.

I was thinking something along the lines of Sprite, Orange Sherbert, something else...

Nintendo Gaming / Olympic Streaming Channel: Missed Oppurtunity?

Hello I was thinking about how NBC here in the states is showing a lot of different olympics and how you can watch a large amount of them on the web and then it got me thinking. I really like to be able to watch them through my Wii or PS3.

This seemed like a golden opportunity for a partnership. The "My Olympics" channel. How there doing it online since Nintendo wouldn't fill you screen with the stream you could have you Mii doing the Commentary where there is only text commentary on the side. It also be another nice non-gamer use. Lets face it the Olympics would be the best thing for this. If people don't like its a Special event one off. If they do like it then NBC and NoA could work something else.

Just an interesting thought. (The internet channel doesn't work because its done through Silverlight)

General Chat / Gaming Rage

I was on the verge of beating Phantom Hourglass and a glitch in the game made it impossible. Which made me very angry because I had just devoted about 20 minutes of my time making every conceivable incarnation of the motion it wanted and about 5 doing the official Nintendo motion for it. I realized that this has happened before to this extreme. For some reason my copy of God Of War in the cave where you push the box before the spikes come up and you jump onto a ledge. Every place I put the box and jump to the ledge it never recognizes to grab.

I mean here I am honed my skills for hours and the game itself has done a great job of keeping me going and interested in what happens and then what can only be a glitch stops me. Nothing to do with my skill or level of preparation but a glitch... A stupid glitch... Which makes it frustrating.

I know what your thinking, "It's just a game." but, it is a relatively large investment of my time. In the time it took me to get to this point I could have:

1. Cleaned my whole house
2. Made a Statue
3. For that matter done a large variety of arts
4. Built a shed
5. Read a large book maybe even a trilogy (Really considers which one)
6. Watch a rather medium sized TV Series in its entirety.
7. etc. etc.

It's just really really frustrating. How does everyone else react to these types of things. I mean there are some games I simply can't beat. Can't figure out the last puzzle or just to uncoordinated for the end boss. It happens which is ok. Even if this was just a case that I couldn't get a beat on the last guy. Here's the story.

I've been saving my pocket change for years now and I decided that I would get it counted once I filled the container I was putting it in. Well today was that day and I went to a Coinstar and got it counted and turned into an Amazon gift certificate, no counting fee. I ended up with $92.16. I want to spend it in something sort of frivolous but means something. I rather not just turn around and buy Videogames or Graphics novel. On the flipside I don't really see anything I want. Haven't really been on a situation like this is a long time. I was hoping to hear what you guys would do to maybe help kick the rusty gears in motion.

General Gaming / What does everyone think of the New PSN Store Front?

I sort of have a love/hate relationship with it. I like the overall look and feel for the most part of the new way. It's definitely faster. Though I really liked the little side bar in the last version they showed what was the 10 most popular things at a given point of time.

I'm still waiting for Home and Little Blue Planet though...
