It's a strange question also considering I have never killed you Bill nor can I ever recall voting for you once.

I'm not out just for my sake...I need to make sure everyone is happy with the potential electee! =D

Then I must congratulate you. Not many members of the media are like that. You are a master of your craft. If only more people followed your example instead of asking questions for their own self-serving means. Speaking of which:

Good, but what about foul hybrids of human and beast that threaten us with genetic corruption? What is your opinion on them?

Well, first. I'm against genetic corruption. That should be a given.

Second, I'm afraid that I don't have many dealings with beast/human hybrids. The only one I can think of off the top of my head was that man with gills in WaterWorld. I didn't like WaterWorld and I didn't care for Kevin Costner so going on that, I guess I'm against Human/Beast hybrids.

Any other questions?

I see we are getting to the easy questions now. Any beast that is a man-eater should be destroyed. That's always been my policy.

Yes sir. You have a question?

Hi Helen, still hiding behind that mask?

#1

Alright. First off, the score for Super Swing Golf. I'm not going to defend or condemn what Pryo gave the game. It is interesting to note though that his score is the lowest on game rankings with only his being the "failing" score, if you will. All other scores are above 50% in their score. I also know some people pointed out either errors or what they percieved to be errors in the review. I personally didn't pay much attention to the thread because I felt things were handled wrong on all sides.

So, this gets me to your second part of the question. How would I have handled the aftermath? As noted, the score given is the lowest. So, if you are going to take a strong stand like that, BACK IT UP. Let me tell you, if I gave a score like that and people wanted to engage me in a "discussion" of it, I would make sure I was available and well prepared to back up my points and my opinion of the game. Part of the problem to that unfortunate fiasco was that Stan wasn't around to further explain himself to his critics. Now, I understand he has been going through some tough times and was also busy. That's part of why we never seem him around much.

But, I think he really needed to make himself available to those that kept asking questions about his review. And what we had instead was people arguing about things that didn't even pertain to the review. Why? Because the reviewer wasn't there to answer their questions and so people started focusing their rage on other things to prove their point, like questioning why NWR does reviews in general. At the same time, since Stan wasn't around, staff felt they better come to the aid of a fellow friend and stand up to him. Unfortunately, I don't know how many staff were in a qualified position to engage in a discussion of the game, so they focused on other points they were qualified to handle.

Let me also put it this way. Hostilites in that thread began before Cap America even posted. You'll notice on the first page of discussion, Ian Sane posted something and Smash Brother blasted him. I'd have stepped in right there and set the ground rules. Anybody can comment on the review. Everyone is as entitled to their opinion as I am. And if you are going to attack people because their opinions don't match yours, your discussion in this thread is over. You see, when people just start attacking other people and their opinions, it just causes a free-for-all where everyone starts attacking one another. Frankly, it just degenerates into what happened in that thread.

Long answer but it's a long problem.

First of all, I launched my campaign in the funhouse, so I should have the backing of TY. He loves when news happens in his forum. Second, I've helped influence Trivia Podcasts, so I should have a bit of love from TYP. Third, Svevan can't ban people so I'm safe there. Fourth, I created a strong bond with Bloodworth, so by banning me, they'll tick off Gametrailers. The mods don't need that right now. They have enough problems with Deg vs. GoNintendo. Fifth, as far as I know. no one is actually pming the mods. And finally, if they ban me, it will just look bad because what it will prove me to be correct.

So, in about a week and a half.

Ah yes. My famous anime appearence. So many things I said on that have been twisted out of proportion. Part of it is due to the translator's skill. I also said, "I want to be a loser." That didn't mean I want to be a reject. Someone who never wins. Heck, I'm working to win this election right now. My quotes have been taken out of context.

First of all, I was never working towards a world of constant warfare. I think a common misconception is when I took over the position of World Soverign and once again amassed a great military to lead to battle against the White Fang. Of course, it just looked bad because I took over from the pacifist girl Relena. But, she wasn't going to fight and the Earth was in danger. And I love the Earth.

Do I want to see constant war? No. I was never working towards that and that should be evident from some of the actions I took. Noteably, challenging Zechs to a duel to prevent war and sacrificing myself to see that there would be peace.

Do I think warfare is a noble and necessary part of the human condition? Yes but only compared to the alternative which is when wars are fought by the push of a button. That is why I opposed the Mobile Doll movement. Wars will not end unless people experience them because it is from this experience and the emotions battle can elicit that will cause them to rise up and end wars.

Still, this is a broad and philosophical arguement over something that really needs a no answer to. I don't think it is even going to apply much to this campaign.

Next question, please.

It's interesting you would bring this up since I just got this lovely card in the mail the other day. I'll just share it with you:

Congratulations on your promotion.

Before you go...
Would you like to take this knife out of my back?
You'll probably need it again.

signed Hiroshi Yamauchi.

So, this got me thinking that maybe I have been too aggressive with some people. I guess part of the problem is that I listened to much to the song "Dogs" by Pink Floyd. It inspired me. So did the game Diplomacy. And, well, I am Khushrenada. Still, I'm reminiscing and not answering the question.

It's a strange question also considering I have never killed you Bill nor can I ever recall voting for you once.

I think my backstabbing antics are also over-rated. When I am in a mafia, I am loyal to that mafia and work my heart out to see it succeed. I never betray anyone on my mafia, With all my godfather's no matter who was in charge, I gave them my advice and opinion's and let them make their own choices based on that. If they chose to listen, great. If they didn't listen, fine. I trust them to make the right calls and they often do.

So basically, when I join NWR, it will be like joining that mafia and I will work hard to see it succeed but not at the sake of backstabbing my fellow mafia mates, or in this case, work mates. Look through the Mafia threads. My actions shown this to be true.

Thanks for the question. Yes, the bear with the party hat.

You are wise, sir.

Yes, for whatever reason, I was thinking a request would be automatically granted and not subject to review.

I understand the balancing issues but maybe you could compare with someone else. For instance, if Jonny is hosting, maybe you can go over the songs with Windy and vice-versa. I still like the spontaneity that you had with this podcast.

Here we go, the hard questions first. That's fine, unlike my oppenents, I enjoy talking about these issues.

My approach to Sonic is different from most people considering I've never played any of the Genesis games. The only 2-D games of Sonic were on the Game Gear that a friend of mine owned. I have bought the Sonic Adventure DX game and unlocked all the Sonic Game Gear games on it. However, I haven't played many of them through to the end. I have been meaning to pick up the Sonic Mega Collection and Sonic Gems to get all those 2-D games but have never gotten around to it yet. There's always been something else for me to buy.

So, my main exposure of Sonic came from the TV cartoons and comic books published by Archie comics. That is where I get my view of Sonic. The first Sonic game I ever played through and also owned was Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. So, to me, I'm more of an expert on Sonic's 3-D games than his 2-D games and can not comment to much on his history. So, that is the unique view I could bring forth with regards to Sonic.

I'm sorry. Maybe you were expecting a comical answer. Let me try this to appease you this way. Sonic is the least of our worries. We should really be focusing on the "Shadow" issue. We need to get that stuff off the streets. It's harming our children. It was voted Best Platformer in the 2005 NP Choice Awards. What? Donkey Kong Jungle Beat lost to that? We need some common sense again. We need me.

Alright. Let's make this brief. As many of you are no doubt aware from all the media ho-ha-ing, I have been thinking about running for office here at NWR. I know this has made all other candidates nervous over my possible entry into the ring. Well, I'm here today to tell you that THEY CAN START SWEATING!

I'm in it to win it, Baby! Let's let the good time roll!

It seems lately that there is a lot of problems with NWR and do you think the current candidates are going to do anything to facilitate real change? I don't think so.

We need someone who can ask the hard questions! We need someone who can push all the right buttons! Someone who isn't afraid to look at the problems of this board and confront them. We need someone to actually review a game, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD. In short, we need ME!

Obviously, this is going to be a short election since none of the other candidates can come close to matching a quarter of my skills and intellect. However, I also know that many of you will want to do what you can while this election process goes on for a little while to try and get in my good books. I approve of sucking-up. So, for those of you who want to be on the winning side, just put in your signiture the following message:

Vote for Khushrenada. A vote for Khushrenada is like Chuck Norris losing a fight. It just doesn't happen.

Now some of my supporters may be confused by this slogan. Don't be. I've done this to counter my attackers smear campaign. We all know they'll take what I've said and try to make it sound the opposite. So, by making my slogan one that is insulting, they will take it and make it into one that is praising me. Like I said, my intellect is way ahead of these people. So, I'll have the backing of my supporters and my attackers will be on my side also.

Well, I said I'd keep this short so I'll now field some questions. Yes, you there.

The much bally-hooed podcast is finally here! Excellent.

Wow. That's an interesting mafia description. The one with probability was Pale's awesome game.

18 Days songs: The first game I had never played and didn't recognize ant of the songs although I really liked that second song. That was different and interesting.

The second game SA2:Battle, do I need spoilers for this game? Well, I'll do it anyways. I recognized the first sone but could not place where I had heard it from. Then with the second song, it clicked right away. That was the Chao Karate, was it not? I liked how you realized that it would be an obvious game with the music so you just went with a difficult question instead. Also, you set it up for the commentary on the third song. The funny thing is after the setup and listening to it, I didn't think it was that bad. The music is actually rather soothing. It's the horrible lyrics that are awful. It should have been set-up as the worst lyrics ever. Frankly, I thought there was another song in SA2 that was worse. Maybe I'll dig out my copy tonight and see if that's true or if I just have a faulty memort.

The third game I was sort of expecting since you made a comment about it when you signed up for the mafia game. I didn't recognize it at first but the hint question gave it away. The other problem being the fact that I've never played the first game, only Monkey Ball 2.

Thatguy's songs:

Didn't have a clue for the first game until Jonny started surmising what it might be. As soon as he said Pacman, Pacman VS. is what I thought of also. I did however guess the hint question correctly. I just felt that since it was on a specific person, there's not a lot of people who do voice acting that it would have to be someone pretty well known. and the most known voice actor to Nintenco fans is Charles Martinet.

The second game I was able to guess from the hint question but it was the only game I could think of based on it and even then, it didn't seem right to me. But then again, I've never been able to play this game. I will someday. Oh yes. Someday, it will be mine. I assume TYP is referring to AussieBen. Whatever happened to him? I never seem him around anymore. Sounds intriguing.

The third game I never had a chance. Never played, never heard of the songs and barely know anything about the series.

All in all, I thought this went really well. I also liked how Jonny was playing along to guess the games also. I'm not sure why. It just added this wonderful element to the game. Like you and a friend were working on trying to figure it out together or competing with one another. Normally, TYP and the co-host seem to know what everything is in advance and how to put it? I guess it can feel like they're just waiting to play the songs and make the comments about the games after. Whereas with Jonny playing along, it seemed to add more of a spirit to the game and opened up more conversations while listening to each track.

I'm interested to see how the listener requests turn out. TYP, do you think you should post a rule about what songs are acceptable for the podcast if you are going to let people make a list of which songs to play for a game they choose? (Depending on if they even want to choose the songs.) I may give it a shot here and there also.

Getting back to game 2, it might be fun every once in awhile to just play music from a game that is totally obvious but just comment on the tracks and give a harder hint question. It added a lot of fun to the proceedings and was one of the best parts of the podcast. The other being Jonny singing.

Well, that's all I can remember from the show and can think of commenting on.

To Golden Phoenix,

Ian has tried out the Wii. He even made a thread about it. Of course, Deguello didn't like that but such is the crazy relationship they share on this board. They're like the original odd couple where as you and Pap64 are the movie odd couple.

Also, I'm not sure that casual gaming is the biggest growing market. It's always been out there. People have been playing computer solitaire for a long time. That's a casual gamer. The only thing is that now people are trying to sell more products to these people and focus their efforts on them. It's a tough battle because the games they play have been free for the most part.

Mario is correct. He brought out that Iwata was comparing Europe to USA. When you look at Europe and Japan, the Americas are taking awhile to embrace the blue ocean. Is it having some effect? Yes but it is more from the Wii than DS. In Europe and Japan, the DS is huge. But how many times do you hear DS mentioned on shows or news? You hear way more about the Wii. I think that's part of the problem. The Wii is doing more to open the casual market than the DS and it should be the other way around. Iwata even pointed out that while sales are good in the Americas, compared to how the DS is selling around the rest of the world, it's actually not that great. Only know is the DS starting to gain some momentum. With the shortages over the past few months, the signs are showing that it might be about to take off like the rest of the world. Again, Iwata mentions all this himself.

I feel for you Ian. I really do. It's such a shame that the only goal the Ducks could score in regulation was that push the goalie move. I kept hoping they'd score another goal or two that would be more legit because I didn't want to see them win on that. At the same time, I thought the Ducks completely dominated that game. Especially that first overtime. Biggest example being when they kept the Canucks from clearing the zone over and over and peppering Sabourin. And then shortly after Luongo came in Andy MacDonald slips the puck between his legs but is just off on his aim.

It was a tough series for me. I'm always going to root for the Ducks. At the same time, I do like Vancouver and want to see Canadian teams do well (except for Ottawa). It was like the Edmonton/Ducks conference finals last year although that was worst since I live in Edmonton and was cheering for the Ducks. Still, I hate it when wins are messy. It takes the enjoyment out of the game.

Still, it's great to see the Ducks are the first ones team to advance. And my predication came true. 3rd time to the Western Conference Finals in 4 years. That's incredible really when you think of how tough the West has been. San Jose has a chance to make their second appearence in 4 years also. In the east, Ottawa, New Jersey and Buffalo are all fighting to make their second appearence in the Eastern Conference finals in the last four years. Not bad but though one of them won't make it. Most likely New Jersey. Although, Buffalo could be taken out also. The only blemish on the Ducks record is 2003-2004 when they didn't make the playoffs. Ducks are the best playoff team in the league these days.

Looking forward to the Western Conference Finals also because the Ducks have a good rivalry with both Western teams left. Obviously, the Sharks are divisional rivals so that will be a big battle. Not to mention that since they are so close, travel will not be an issue for once in the Western Conference. That means it could be a hard fought battle.

At the same time, the Ducks and Wings rivalry could be big. The Wings swept the Ducks the first two times they met and then the Ducks swept the Wings when the Wings were defending Stanley Cup champions. Ever since then, the Wings have suffered in the post season. But now the Wings would have advanced to the Conference Finals with a chance to avenge that defeat. Babcock facing off against his old club.

Yes sir, it should be interesting no matter who the Ducks face.

When the playoffs were just beginning, I was talking to some friends about which teams I would like to see in the conference finals and my choices were: Ducks vs. Wings and Pittsburgh vs. NY Rangers. There's still a chance for the Wings and NY Rangers to make it. But Pittsburgh missing is just such a damper on the whole thing.

Well, I've rambled on enough about hockey.

Hey, if you're a Nintendo fan, do yourself a favor and don't buy the Wii. Seriously. At least not just yet. I'll tell you why.

The system is still selling well and is hard to find. This is because not just Nintendo fans are buying it but a whole slew of new customers are purchasing it. From people who haven't bought a Nintendo system in years to people playing video games for the first time. If you are a Nintendo fan, you are most likely going to buy this system just because it was made by Nintendo and will have Nintendo games. In a way, it's like your sale is a given. But what is not a given is just how many other people and non-gamers will purchase the system. It's also hard to say how long they will keep hunting for a system if they can't find one. Will they loose their interest before they find one? Therefore, it's better to let those who may want to purchase the system on an impulse or sudden strong interest do so before a Nintendo fan. Every system sold helps Nintendo become the market leader. So, why take a system you're sure to buy whenever you can from someone who may not be so interested in it after awhile?

So, if you're a Nintendo fan, don't buy a system right now. If you need to play Zelda, it was released on the Cube. Frankly, the only game that makes me want to buy the system right now is Super Paper Mario. But I'm sure copies of the game will be available when I do purchase a system in the future along with a lot of other great titles like Brawl and Galaxy. Plus, I may even get a black system. In the meantime, buy some Cube games you never got around to or were interested in playing. Stores seem to be trying to clear them out now and are slashing prices all the time. You can help Nintendo out by buying these cube games that aren't selling. By the time you have exhausted your options for Cube games, you'll be ready to move on to the Wii and what should be a rich catalogue of games.

The end.

By the way, what was with the letter about NWR hiring? Windy just said to hold that thought. I assumed that meant he might answer it another letter but nothing else came of it. It wouldn't surprise me if NWR was going to look for some new staff. When Bloodworth announced he was going, I thought there might be a shuffle in the organization and a new position opening.

Well, if the NWR crew is looking for a helping hand, I'll throw my hat into the ring right now. No need to search high and wide for a candidate. You have some homegrown talent right here in your draft pool (aka forum). So, just call me up from the minors. I'm ready for the big league.

Anahiem does just fine. When they beat Minnesota in Game 5, the crowd was cheering. They were doing the wave. There was energy in the air and you could feel the giddyness.

I think the problem is, they have been too successful and so the crowd doesn't need it has to cheer as much. When the team is always winning, you just sit back and enjoy it. When I watch Anahiem, I'll cheer a little when they score a goal or give a good hit. But, I don't see the need to keep going on and on. It's different when your team doesn't have much success. Then you cheer loudly for every little thing. Franbkly, we all know Nashville's crowd isn't the best. They are the ones who don't deserve a good hockey team.

Ahh, the Ducks. Western Conference finals 3 times in four years. Yes, that's right. It's time for my votes for the second round.

I'm hoping:

Detroit beats San Jose
Anahiem beats Vancouver
NY Rangers beats Buffalo
New Jersey beats Ottawa.

By the way, I also miss the days of Naslund, Bertuzzi, and Morrison. The Canucks just aren't the same too watch anymore. Then again, niether are the Ducks. Since they've got Chris Pronger, they seem to be moving slower and sitting on leads they get. Last year, they were much faster and would just swarm after the puck. I think that since they changed their uniforms to black, removed WildWing and got rid of the Mighty moniker, the Ducks have lost some of their heart.
