Finally I get to dance with Princess Peach. If I impress her with my ubercool dance moves do you think she'll bake me a cake? I sure hope it.

All the DVD contains is the Twilight Princess E3 trailer, which most of us have already downloaded. Not really enough enticement, imo.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Interactive Cutscenes
« on: April 13, 2005, 06:38:01 AM »
I think Beyond Good & Evil sort of copied Metroid Prime's scanning idea, but turned it into photography, which was in turn (probably) copied from Legend of Zelda.

Making cut scenes interactive like in RE4 isn't really that hard to implement in a game so I don't think developers would be too lazy to try it. And considering the success of RE4, some of its ideas are surely going to be copied.

How long do you reckon before other games developers copy Resident Evil 4's way of making cut scenes in a game interactive?
While there have been games like Dragon's Lair which were essentially comprised of just interactive cut scenes, I think Resident Evil is the first to use them in this fashion. And to great effect too!
Oh, I s'pose Shenmue had them before RE4 did, but the buttons weren't randomised so you could memorise the sequence.

I think doing cut scenes this way would be excellent for RPGs and adventure games where some people tend to just skip them, lol.

Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III - Rebel Strike  has a pretty mad co-op mode which I've yet to finish cause I still can't find anyone good enough who has time to play with me.

As long as they release a Zelda game for the Revolution, then I'm definitely getting one.

After I beat Ganondorf and after the ending credits plays, it just returns to the title screen again with no option to save. If I select a new slot and begin a new game I don't have the Pictograph in my inventory any more so I can't take a picture of Tetra on Outset.

Nintendo Gaming / Wind Waker Figurines
« on: January 02, 2005, 08:39:29 PM »
Hey can someone please help me?

I'm on my second time through Wind Waker and have already collected all the Triforce Shards and can go and fight Ganondorf whenever I want to.

What I am trying to do however, is collect is ALL the figurines at the Nintendo Gallery, and I've invested many hours to this side quest already. My problem is, at this stage of the game, the Pirates are gone, and so is Tetra, and I still need their pictographs. I already have figurines for Princess Zelda, and the King of Hyrule, etc.

I just need pictographs of Link, Tetra and the other Pirate members in order to complete my figurine collection.

But I don't think it's possible now.

Do I really need to play through Wind Waker twice more in order to complete the Nintendo Gallery side quest, this time making sure that I don't miss opportunities to take pictographs of the Pirates???

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Let's Talk Controller

Man, all I want is a left-handed controller for the GameCube and the Revolution. I think I my left thumb is more prone to RSI in my veteran gamer years and if I could just switch hands, even though it may seem awkward the first few months, I think eventually I could get used to using my right thumb for analog stick control.

Or how about Link's sword having a finishing move where he thrusts it into an enemy, then the enemy turns to stone. Link can then smash the statue with his hammer or kick it with his magic boots and it crumbles. Otherwise he can probably jump onto it to reach a high ledge.

Nintendo has reported their lovable Mascot has been missing for several days already causing a great delay in the development of his next game. The last record of his known whereabouts is this webcam footage taken from Mario's PC.

Representatives from the company have appealed to the public to report any clues that may lead to to an answer to this strange mystery. A worried Miyamoto-san had this to say, "Mario left no note or good-bye and it was out of character for him to just disappear like that. If you know of his whereabouts or can identify the two persons in this footage, please report to the police immediately. We are very worried for our company mascot."

Equinox could do with a remake.  I never did finish the original. Damn puzzles! Grrrr.
Imagine how that would play now with proper 3D graphics.

Ok, once you finish Wind Waker you'll want to get Eternal Darkness. And you'll want to make your GF play it and watch her get scared silly.

Nintendo Gaming / New baddy for the next Zelda game is...
« on: June 09, 2004, 01:16:46 AM »

*drum roll*

Miyamoto-san himself.

*tada*

The storyline:

Nintendo is failing as a company and has instructed Miyamoto to destroy Link's universe before the world discovers the truth... or worse, Hyrule learns about our world!!!

The world of Hyrule is in fact a real alternate universe. How else could a man dream up such a world? He had to have been there!

So Miyamoto steps into his portal once again, and reluctantly starts to elimate some of Hyrule's towns and inhabitants to the dark world with his own brand of magic.

Of course, the more time Miyamoto spends in Hyrule the more he forgets about his own world, and the more he becomes the potential destroyer of Hyrule Kingdom, even more powerful than Ganondorf himself. Ultimately Miyamoto takes on a form of madness, addicted to his own power.

The wise sages know what is happening and calls for the Hero of Time and all who is brave, to use the power of the Triforce and put a stop to Miyamoto's madness.. to restore not only peace... but the Kingdom of Hyrule itself.

The Manibito is probably an add-on camera module for the DS and the Ningen-Copy/Manebito is a portable printer.
