Mario will jump, attack Goombas and Koopa Troopas, and rescue Princess Peach...all for a good cause.

A group of gamers from Lafayette, Indiana have announced their second Mario Marathon in benefit of ChildÂ’s Play, an organization funded by the creators of Penny Arcade that brings toys and games to hospitalized children worldwide.

A team of three players will play through 25 years worth of Mario games across all Nintendo consoles. The event will start on July 10 and will end on July 15. The organizers hope that this event is bigger than least yearÂ’s, which gathered over $12,000 dollars for ChildÂ’s Play and lasted 57 hours. Viewers also have the opportunity to interact with the team and win Mario-related prizes.

The event is being broadcast online at www.mariomarathon.com, and will start on July 10 at 9:00 AM EDT.

I'm guessing they are going to stick with the mainline releases for this? There are over 80 games with "Mario" in the title and I'm sure that's too many to get through in just five days...

If you go to their site it shows you which ones at the top... the three Super Mario Bros. , Super Mario World,  Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy.... I plan on watching a bit of the online broadcast. This looks like it could be interesting.

That will take more time than what is avalable.
