RFN 250: A Live Call-In Celebration TODAY!
« on: July 09, 2011, 09:15:53 AM »

Please join us this Saturday for a special event -- we want to hear from you!

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/sitenews/27132

WHO: Radio Free Nintendo crew and our special guests: you!

WHEN: Saturday, July 9, 12pm (Noon) PDT, 3pm EDT, 7pm GMT

WHERE: Right here! Check back for the audio stream and live chat.

Our little podcast is turning five years, and for the landmark 250th episode, we want to bring in our greatest asset -- the loyal and brilliant listeners who write us letters, participate in RetroActive discussions, and inspire us to keep doing this every week. Please join us Saturday afternoon/evening for this special live event, in which we'll spent a couple of hours taking your calls to talk about Nintendo, the gaming industry, the podcast, or most anything else on your mind. Don't be shy, it will be an easygoing and fun time for everyone! We'll try to record the whole thing for inclusion in Episode 250, so this is a chance to be part of the milestone! You can listen to the whole thing right here, and we'll announce call-in details over the audio stream. Just come prepared with the free Skype software and the best microphone you can find -- Rock Band and Guitar Hero ones can work quite well!

Join us in the chat room while we're on air. More info is below the chat box. Having trouble? You can also connect with a dedicated IRC client. Server: irc.browsingtheinternet.com Channel: #nwr The audio stream URL is http://nintendoworldreport.com:8000/rfnlive.mp3.m3u

Hmm...I'd really like to join in on this, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to be busy this Saturday doing lawn work.  If so, I look forward to the .mp3 down the line.

I listened to the previous live show on my iPhone and had no issues with it.

Actually, due to daylight savings being in effect here in the UK, people in Britain would want to tune in at 8pm BST, not 7pm.

If I was just going to listen I be fine but this is my chance man.  With a chat room full of listeners listening as well my insane comments will sort of make sense.

I listed GMT because it is a static reference for anyone outside the U.S. (it doesn't change with the seasons). So yes, if your locale celebrates DST, you will have to correct for that, even in England.

Is this going to be the Q&A or will the stream include what the crew's currently playing like all the podcast? Pretty much the entire podcast live?

Thanks Jonny for the clarification about the time, so it's 8PM in the UK (and Spain&Portugal) and 9PM EST (Central Europe, Italy, France, Germany etc).
I'll be back at 9, can't wait to listen to the show and hopefully be able to call-in again :)

Thanks for taking my call, guys.  It was fun!  I have a tendency to talk way too fast and stutter when I'm on the spot.

Since I missed my shot to do it live, I'd like to do something here:
