Persona Q2 can't be its last game though?

Can't believe you missed the opportunity to name this "3DS getting hit hard lately..."
Just some random guy on the internet who has a different opinion of games than you.

Shovel Knight King of Cards is the only 3DS game still upcoming on Nintendo's own website. And I'm pretty sure that will be a digital only game. All signs point to this being the end and Persona Q2 may actually be the last when it comes to physical.

Although, if you really are looking for a 3DS game, may I suggest you go to the eShop and check out the Latest Videos section where you can see a video Introducing Zara for the game Zara The Fastest Fairy. Then weep at how the 3DS is saying goodbye.

After the Switch came out 3DS games started doing poorly in terms of sales.

There's a part of me that thinks that I should get Persona Q2.  It may end up being the last 3DS physical game and almost certainly the last good one.  It may also end up being rare and collectable due to being released so late and also being an Atlus game.  But I feel like in order to fully "get" the game I need to play Persona 3, 4 and 5 which I don't have the time for.  I figure without that it would be like SSB being your first ever Nintendo game - still a fun game but not nearly as special if you don't know the references.

The 3DS had a hell of run.  8 years is pretty exceptional and only the most successful systems have those kind of legs.  I think it's one of Nintendo's best systems and will likely be remembered fondly.  Personally it also gave me a new appreciation of the DS, which I initially wasn't much of a fan of.  With the 3DS I stuck mostly to RPGs and visual novels, cherry picking the types of games I feel work well on a handheld.  Because of the backwards compatibility I ended up digging into these genres on the DS as well.  With the DS I had stuck more to the big mainstream releases like Mario and Zelda and wasn't impressed.  Turns out I had just been playing the wrong DS games and the different approach I took with the 3DS let me find a strong niche of titles that appealed to me on both it and the DS.

Actually, I wish to change my answer. The 3DS will never die as long as we let it live on in our hearts and still take it out from time to time to play some games on it.

Still wish the 3DS could make it to the ten year mark. Really want to see its game prices decrease to more be more affordable.

Well nothing decreases prices of games more than a console being phased out of the market, at least in regards to used physical titles.  Case in point - aside from rare titles DS games are pretty cheap right now.  In two or three years I will expect the same thing with the 3DS.

Well the Switch is still $300 with no price cut in sight.  I suspect Nintendo will at least keep producing the 3DS until some cheaper handheld only version of the Switch that they can sell below $200 is released.  At the moment the 3DS is still offering that cheaper alternative Nintendo likes to provide for families.

The Vita subsisted off obscure third titles up until Sony pulled the cord, so I assume the 3DS could survive a few more years. They need to bring out more Nintendo Selects titles because I do not want to pay full price for its games any more. Is there a chance Dragon Quest 11 could eventually be on the 3DS outside of Japan?

No. E3 was the last chance for it to happen, and Nintendo/Square Enix focused on the Switch version which even includes the 16-bit sprite mode from the 3DS version.

Why is Sushi  Striker still $39.99? There are a ton of games that need to fall in price.

For BNM: https://youtu.be/Emi74MDRMV8

TLDW: Nintendo doesn’t drop the price of its games because people will buy them at full price years after release.

Exactly. They stay pretty solid in price until they are discontinued, and at the point of discontinuation there is typically a small window where you can nab things at bargain prices. I bought Metroid Prime Trilogy on Wii with the Steel Book for $20 and look where that one is now.

Just the other day. If your Walmart still has copies they're on clearance.
