According to the Magic Box Weekly Famitsu had a survey asking readers which next-gen system they were most interesed in, and oddly enough the REV came out on top with 42.2%,  followed by the PS3 at 39.9%, and ending with the 360 with 18%.

Nintendo Gaming / Useless thing I found about the DS
« on: November 29, 2004, 09:55:12 PM »
Today I went ahead and connected my SP headphone adapter to my ds just to see if it would work or if they took that functionality away from that port. I was quite surprised to find that it did infact work with a pair of headphones. I then tried to see if both the SP jack and the normal headphone jack could work in tandem, again I was surprised that they both worked simultaiously.

Like I said though, this is probably the most useless "feature" that the DS has, the only game I could see benefiting from this in anyway is pocket music, or band brothers, or whatever it is called. You could use one port for your own headphones and the other jack for a pair of mini-speakers, like the ones that were going to be packed with the game when it was in production for the GBA, so that others could hear your music.

BTW if anyone is wondering both jacks seem to run off of different power sources, meaning that it doesn't seem that having both in use doesn't effect the sound quality, but it my drain the battery a little faster.

I just think the concept of a RTS/Pinball game is a real original concept full of potential. From what I have heard it is being made by the guys who did Seaman, which means it will probably be full of wierdness. Sounds like my type of game. The only problem I have with it is that it might not come out in NA.

Nintendo Gaming / Has anyone else seen the new GBA commercial?
« on: April 22, 2004, 02:23:24 AM »
I just saw it at Nintendo's website and I have to say that it is one of the coolest, most stylistick commercials I have seen in a long while. (including the original "Who are You?" comercial)

edit: ok sorry, didn't think about that.

General Gaming / Component video switch boxes
« on: July 30, 2003, 02:28:10 AM »
I'm getting a new TV soon and it only has one component input and I would like to use it for both my GCN and DVD player, so I searched the net for them and most were WAY out of my price range.

Anyway I was wondering if there were some inexpensive  component video switches that were at or below $100 or is there a way to make my own, either way help would be greatly appreciated.

General Gaming / About Dolby Digital...
« on: July 13, 2003, 09:53:18 PM »
I was just looking through my games when I noticed that the Super Monkey Ball 2 disk had the Dolby Digital symbol on it. Now I'm only a little educated in the ways of suround sound systems(in fact I don't even have one) but I was sure that the GCN couldn't do a digital signle seeing as how it doesn't have a coax/opticle out.

Anyway it got me thinking why that would be there and I came up with a few possible solutions; A) its a misprint and was meant to be DPL or DPLII symbol, B)The Q allows GCN games DD support and that is how SMB2 has it, C) there is some way that I don't know about to get DD out of the cube and everyone has neglected to tell me or put anything up on any web sites, or D) I'm a dork who reads to much into everything.

Well I was just wondering if someone could tell me the reason why the DD symbol is there. Sorry if this has been talked about before I just couldn't find anything on it and for the long wimded nature of my post.
