Nintendo needs to make a "Deluxe" Wii Wheel.
« on: June 01, 2009, 09:57:21 AM »
The problem with the Wii Wheel is, it's attached to nothing, making it 100% useless (okay, 95% useless). They should make a new revision that has a base for mounting on a table, desk, etc, and comes with pedals that plug in via the expansion port. It could be the standard for racing games (real racing games, not Mario Kart, ect), and would probably bring more racing games to the Wii. Just a thought.

The Wii Balance Board would suffice as pedals when using the Wii Wheel.

Logitech released a deluxe steering accessories back in 2007. I know it works with a few of the Need for Speed games and a few others. Logitech's stuff is expensive though.

That's what I'm saying, it could just be some cheap base for holding a (larger) Wii Wheel ala Mario Kart. All the tech is already in the Wiimote, so the price should be very low.

The problem with the Wii Wheel is, it's... 100% useless.
Fixed that for you.

Releasing another peripheral that does nothing but house a Wii remote and charging more money for it sounds like something Nintendo would do though.

Just get a steering wheel for any old gaming system and tape the Wimote to it. Problem solved.

Mop it up's idea wins.

We are suffering from a severe lack of racing games. My brother in-law, sister and Dad all want a Wii NASCAR game and when they saw the NASCAR 'Mario Kart knock off' they were disgusted by it. A number of casual Wii owners are probably NASCAR fans considering I know four of them who are and I don't understand why they won't make a proper one for Wii.

Heck, any proper sim racer would suffice, just make it good, for racing fans.
