(breathing intensifies)

I'm seriously considering avoiding this one though. I've come to appreciate knowing as little as possible about a game before playing it, provided it's a known quantity. Having played Smash 3DS, I realise this doesn't leave much in the way of surprises. *fingers in ears commences*

I love that Luigi's death stare is in most of those shots.

My first ever imported console was an American 3DS. The option over picking up the console locally from Australia is certainly bloody paying off in spades, eh? *sits on arse for another month*

Here's what I'm thinking; There's no way they'd create these elaborate CG clips for the sole purpose of the character reveals. I'm guessing they're created for another Subspace Emissary-type dealio, and I'm okay with this.

Holy hell! So we can't simply just switch to another website for a conference stream, as it's all done through Nintendo. I'M DYING!

*Quickly covers dozens of portraits of what I assume to be Greg hanging all over my house.* Oh, Greg! I wasn't expecti-I KNEW YOU'D COME BACK! I JUST KNEW IT! NOW WE CAN *maniacal laughter*

Quake and Goldeneye really shouldn't be compared with each other. One's an arcadey twitch shooter, while the other is Goldeneye. Go and play the original Deus Ex and tell us you also hate that game. I know I definitely couldn't get into it after playing it two years ago, and it's the same reason you can't play Goldeneye.

No one's bloody patient enough to figure **** out for themselves these days. End! We've all been babied through incredibly pretty-yet incredibly non-interactive FPS games for the past decade and it's sent the genre way back. But that's my opinion, and obviously sales for those select few explosive set piece-driven shooters are through the roof, but whether or not they're successful due to ease of play or merely the appealing action sequences is anyone's guess.

The original A Boy and his Blob is totally a **** game compared to Super Mario bros.!!! Accessibility, right? Trying to make a game as appealing to on-lookers at a first glance as possible. Quake is incredibly easy to pick up and get in to, where Goldeneye needed those two old words no one uses anymore, learning curve.

Nintendo has mentioned many 'o times recently--as recently as a week ago when referring to the WiiU Zelda in fact--that they're trying to make their games as accessible as possible. No learning curves!!! Great for you, someone who grew up in such a time, but for the rest of us? It sends shivers down our spines, as we find sticking with complex games with layers of depth rewarding when digging deeper. Most people are just happy with runnin' and gunnin' though, yay. -___-

WALL OF TEXT OVER.

Quite enjoyed the first, so the sequel will definitely be a buy from me. ^__^

The lack of RPG elements is what I was worried about. I think I recall reading back in that Nintendo Power leak that you do indeed gain EXP, but its only use is to unlock more attack moves or something.

*Sigh* I guess I probably won't be getting this one then.

This is why I shouldn't save episodes 'til bed time. I still haven't finished last week's episode, as I like to savour the goodness that is Greg's relaxing voice. Either that, or the voice is just so damned soothing that it sends me off to the land of dreams before the episode is through. REGARDLESS! I am now I sad man.

We'll miss you a little, I guess, Greg...I guess.

Any word if StreetPass is needed to 100% the game? Apologies if there were better articles to ask this question. I've been trying to avoid spoilers for a lot of these upcoming games. ^_^ I've still yet to bump into anyone 'ere in Austroileeyah, not that I've tried for a while.

Nintendo Gaming / Re: No Online for Monster Hunter 3G :(
« on: October 18, 2011, 10:47:18 AM »
They'll just do online play like they did for the PSP.
Which was let a third party program simulate the local area stuff.  Annoying but they even built it into the PS3 HD version of Portable 3rd.

Has such a work-around been created for the DS/3DS yet? That would be amazing. :3

TalkBack / Re: Nintendo Reveals Lofty Details about Skyward Sword
« on: October 08, 2011, 11:15:02 PM »
Might avoid all of that. I've never gone out of my way to avoid details of a game before its release before, and this is definitely a good game to start.

I'm fairly certain most Ninty published games released here with an RRP of $100 rarely actually sell for that much in stores other than EBs and GAME-usually hovering around the $79 - $89 area. If that proves not to be the case with this game, I might as well pay the extra $20 for the remote. Wish I could swap it for a black one though. :3

I'm also curious as to when this game actually wraps up. I'm on a beach, deserted with someone after something kinda big happened. ~60 hours I think I've put into it so far. :3

Developer: "So, Miyamoto... Could you provide specifics as to how you think we could improve this area of the game?"
Miyamoto: "Hmm... *Ponders for five minutes.* Make it more...fun."
-Game goes on to be a success-
General Public: "WOW, Miyamoto is a genius!"

Note: General Public is not General Pepper's predecessor.

Nifty! Looking forward to the listen, mates. 'Preciate the effort. :D

How I envy you peoples in the Japans, what with your actual use for Streetpass. *Has a cry at his still-empty Mii Plaza.* My Puzzle Swap'll never be complete! Digress! Those are some good examples, mate. Can't say I even stopped to think about how it could be used other than the disappointing first thought of grabbing a spare fire flower from a passer by.

Hope you guys have time to share more thoughts on the next Famicast about this subject. Needs more questions about vending machines, though! :D

Good job, fellas. 'Preciate it!

22
That is a possibility, but not confirmed by the box information.
I've seen the 3D Land Tanooki suit flutter, maybe it's infinite flutter? i.e you can jump then flutter in a straight line continuously, as apposed to flying upwards at a 45 degree angle, which I don't think it part of the game's design from everything we've seen.

Ah yes, very true. Well, whatever the outcome, I'm just glad that there's plenty left to surprise us with this game. I think I recall if not Miyamoto, then one of the higher-ups talking about how there'd be no street pass, as its usefulness in such a game would be limited. Paraphrasing to the max, but I'm getting more and more disappointed every time Nintendo does one of these topsy-turvies. *Sigh* politics. >_>

So there IS flying!

Recommend you check out Parodius, bud. It's a SNES game which basically merges all of Konami's shooters' elements and throws in a touch of Cho Aniki for the fans. IT ALSO HAS BELLS! ...Well, it's not half as crazy as Cho Aniki. >_>

Nintendo Gaming / Re: Xenoblade Chronicles - Impressions
« on: September 13, 2011, 02:49:55 PM »
Yeah, I doubt I'd ever be able to go through what I've already done on FFXII again were I to move onto Xenoblade. And Little King's Story is a retail copy. ROMs and ISOs are just throwaways, usually resulting in much less fun than otherwise would've been the case had you paid cash-moneys for the game.

*10 minutes into a slow starting game through emulation* "Bah, I'm done!" *delete*
*10 minutes into a $60 game* "This'd better get better soon, considering I spent moneys on it." *soldiers on*

Oh right, Xenoblade... I don't even want to take it out of the shipping envelope. The pressue, ya know? Good news, though! FFXII's Mimic Dungeon-thingy place's shadows didn't like the emulator very much, causing the area to become completely garbled for a good five minutes. Was the emulator triyng to give me a hint? :3 I ploughed through it though. *has a little cry*
