Nintendo Gaming / super smash bros melee talk

Don't forget Mew2. He sucks too, though not as bad as Pichu.

As for Marth, He's not considered the best character (he's getting really close though) but yes, he can be beaten. As with the other top tiers, you've gotta be able to play head games to take apart a Marth effectively. Though unlike the other top tiers, Marth has no counter character (Peach has Marth, Sheik has Falco and maybe Fox, Fox and Falco have Peach.) So yeah, I could see him knocking Sheik off her throne as top Smash character, but as I said above, no one's invincible in that game.

By Pika having more power than Pichu I mean the ability to send them out of the ring. Pichu's electricity might do more damage, but Pika's Smash Up A alone owns every attack Pichu has easily.

Anyways, I just realized that I never posted who I actually play as. I use:

-Marth (Marth owns most everyone in this game!)
-Peach (Excellent air game, plus the only character in SSBM that lets you quote Albedo in Xenosaga. "Ma peche" is fun to say. )
-Sheik (Technically the best character in the game, but hey, I like Marth better.)
-Mario (Mario's just fun to use. I like playing as him for a challenge.)

Um, last I checked, Pichu kinda sucks tier-wise. It hurts itself, has less power than Pika, and flies out of the ring easy. The only character that sucks worse than Pichu is Mew2...

Luigi is indeed a bit better than Mario is, since Mario is the well-rounded character of the game. Characters like him usually aren't top tier. But Dr. Mario owns them both, because he's got more power than the other two and his speed isn't really hindered like Roy to Marth or Ganondorf to Falcon. His Forward B move also reaches farther than Mario's, making it more effective for stopping attacks.

The known top tiers in the US from several tournament results are Sheik, Fox, Falco, Marth and Peach. It is being debated whether Pika, Dr. Mario and Samus are considered top notch though.

Nintendo Gaming / FF:CC needs more than one GBA?

The one player can use the GC controller because there's no one else playing. Thus, you can pause the game (for stuff like the menu) without disrupting anyone's playing. If mulitplayer was like this, everyone would have to stop everytime someone pulls up a menu. Though I didn't mind playing the old way in Secret of Mana, that's the reason they're using GBAs as controllers.

Tell me it's possible for two players to have one GBA as a controller and the other a GCN controller. If the one player mode will allow you to use the GCN controller than why wouldn't that work with at least 2 players? I would love to see that with 3 or 4 players but if it would work with two than that would be ok.

Square needs to think on this.

It'll only work if all the players had a GBA since they're trying to allow players to access items and the menus without pausing (since the GBA has the screen.) It still sucks, but that's the thinking behind it.

Everyone really shouldn't need a GBA to play with friends...although the concept behind using GBAs as controllers is brilliant. That's just gonna scare gamers away, which is the last thing Nintendo needs. I personally will just rent it if this rumor turns out to be true, because without lots of friends to play with, there's no point in a buy to me.
