Dear Panic Button,
I'm sorry to hear that the Insanolord Corporation is such a shitty company. Of course, considering the games they release, I guess these recent events should come as no surprise since they clearly have had no problem foisting their crap on the public for years.
Thank you for arranging this opportunity to interview further on the merits of porting Amiibo Festival to the Switch. I wasn't sure I would be able to make it as my schedule these days is just packed. I saw a flea on my friend, so I snuck up with a net and snagged it. Then I sold it at a shop. It was worth a lot! As you can see, I've got a lot on my plate but I'll try and do my best to answer your questions.
What is your favorite game to play on your down time (besides the game you are pitching)?
Oooohh. Tough question. I'm really, really tempted to say Hide and Seek but I'm feeling the love more for Tag right now. Part of that might be because, while I was with my friends, we all played Tag today. I was really fast at catching everyone. They were so surprised, they gave me some sur-PRIZE money for winning!
If you got to pick one of the other contestants’ games to be ported instead of yours which would it be and why?
Hmmm. Well, that is a tough one since I'm not sure who all Panic Button is in talks with or considering in making an offer in regards to porting their software to the Switch. I've heard some various rumors of different companies that you may see as having some potential but just as to what the software you would be interested in porting is less clear or seems to be rather undefined. That said, I do have some friends and connections in Level 5 whom I've met at various Nintendo functions thanks to their development of some software like the Professor Layton series, Yokai Watch and even Dragon Quest. From my contacts, I've learned that they have approached you with a proposal to port Rogue Galaxy. So, I'll support my friends and say that if Amiibo Festival can not be ported for some reason then I'd hope it's because you went with Rogue Galaxy instead. Although, I'm not sure this has to be a one or the other proposition. I think it would be fantastic if both could be ported over. However, I do feel there is one caveat to porting Rogue Galaxy. I think to truly make it a success on the Switch, I would make a recommendation to change the characters from anime humans to cute anthropomorphized animals. Imagine roaming the stars with some cute kitties and puppies or even a ferocious cuddly tiger as your allies. Perhaps the main character could be a bad boy wolf or heroic and clever fox.
Of course, a truly successful interview is one in which the interviewee also asks some questions and it isn't a one sided process. Therefore, I would like to take a moment to ask something of my own. What kinds of games do the people at Panic Button like to play? What company's software are they most interested in hearing about? Let's say we did a small poll of just a few names and people could vote BeautifulShy FlyHigh Games, Sega, Level 5 or Nintendo. Who would win in such a poll?
I'm afraid I must now hurry away. I need to attend and present at the opening of a new Public Works Project. I will write back to you in regards to your other questions at my earliest convenience.
So busy,
Aya Kyogoku
