Title: Episode 617: The Platonic Ideal
Post by: NWR_Lindy on April 07, 2019, 02:16:04 PM

We talked a lot about Yoshi, titles are tough to come by.

It's an all-New Business show this week. Greg kicks us off with deep impressions of Yoshi's Crafted World. He's basically done everything there is to do, and as the worldwide expert on T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas we look to him for his dissertation on the latest Yoshi title. We actually take a break here, and come back with Jon's retro New Business. This week he rediscovers Final Fantasy VII and Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Lastly, Gui closes us out folding cardboard with Labo Vehicle Kit.

Just a reminder, time is limited to vote on our Zelda-like RetroActive. Cast your votes now.

Come on people, vote Spirit Tracks, let's inflict that train on more people!

Honestly, the debate over quality standards of email at the end is the best case scenario for the stupid one-off I sent a while back when James Jones called-out for last second emails.

Because Jon alluding to it more than once and referencing it as the low bar that James shouldn't aspire to made my Monday.

You shouldn´t have included actual Zelda games to the poll. Of course one of them is going to win.

Bah, Spirit Tracks it is.  It's one of my least favorite Zelda games but I do recall the dungeons being among my favorites so maybe, terrible touch controls aside, a play through wouldn't be so bad.

We need more support for the oracle games. But I suppose I could put the losing Zelda on the forum retrospective docket.

I was surprised there was such a swing to Tiny Toon Link Train Adventure.  Last I had checked the Oracle games had healthy leads.

Yeah I've decided that since people aren't submitting their own recommendations for the Forum Retrospective I am going to steal both whichever zelda game loses the poll (which looks to be the oracle games as of this writing) and whichever of the non zelda games ends up getting third place (which right now looks like it will be Crystalis) for future forum retrospective discussion deals.

I know it'll lose but I voted for Landstalker. I'd be curious to try it. Its spiritual successor, Alundra, would make for a really compelling Retroactive discussion, but alas it's never come to a Nintendo system.
