Nintendo Gaming / RE: Tie In ratio?
« on: March 20, 2006, 10:25:25 AM »
Lord god. I was happy to have 20ish games for my GC and my modest DS collection of 5. Oh, and I just received Minish Cap from Amazon this afternoon. Expecting Astro Boy - Omega Factor within the next week or so.

Either way, those are some impressive lists.

I'm really interested in the tie-in ratios now. World-wide ones. I always figured they'd be pretty high for the GC, despite all the complaining about the lack of games and 3rd party support.

I truly hate the fact that MS gets a taste of nintendo with the two or three developers still with rare from the good ol' days. Games like this scare me. Because it'll probably do quite well and I do NOT want a 360. Bah.

Let's hope they've discovered new screen tech that minimizes the problem of fingerprints et al on the 'ol screen.

Two-point touch seems to be a little much for such a small screen. People generally aren't dextrous with BOTH hands to begin with. Unless this is used on a slightly larger scale, I can imagine it would be quite difficult to work with.

Wow, I just picked up a copy of Killer7 for my cube this weekend and realized how well suited it is to the DS. That's my story.

Isn't that what Curb Your Enthusiasm is?

I'd say partially. It's more of...a long running documentary and the making of.

"Sony, realizing that comedy UMDs sell much better than action or horror UMDs, will be adding Not Another Teen Movie and Monty Python content to its lineup" I'm  trying extremely hard to understand the PSP demographic. This is making it more challenging.

I suppose I'd agree with that. Although, I try and stay loyal to fellow Canadians. Ian always has good points but he can be a pretty pessimistic fellow (long-time reader, 4th or 5th time poster?)

I take it back. I must have had this account longer than I originally thought. An overbearing 47 posts now. I've got to cut back.

There already are emulators running on the DS. But anyway, wouldn't it be possible to release the browser on a larger flash card? To allow for caching, cookies, and the like? I'd pay a few extra bucks for a larger card with the brower included.

I usually put Ubisoft in league with EA so this is no big surprise. About time they tried their hand at a sports title.

I haven't even been able to join a regional game. Fill up all the dots and bam, they all go away. It really gets me down. Then I just pop in Partners and Time and forget all about it. Bah

Everyone I can think of that actually HAS a gamecube has at least eleven games, myself included. I'd expect a pretty high tie ratio with all these must have 1st party games. The PS2 tie-in is actually surprisingly.

It's probably best to look at Ubisoft's publishing/development record on the PC in this case.

I wouldn't call halo an experience. The first two levels were a great time. It was downhill from there. Doom III was creepy as hell, and I'm still not sure why I never finished it. Half-life 2, I just loved. As did many people.

Have you even played the game? Looks like you're just hating on it because so many other people have enjoyed it.

This is good news, indeed. Now if only I had the cash for a DS. I have to decide between that and the Logitech® Z-5500's. Arg.

Parent Alert! Games to avoid for your children and teens

1. Doom 3 M
2. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas M

I think it's mighty hilarious that their games not recommended for children are all ESRB rated M, and the ones they DO recommend are E & T. Obviously something works.

Also, I'm not sure I understand their priorities. They decided Doom 3 was more dangerous for the children than San Andreas. Someone tell me how saving the world from hell is worse than racial gang wars and killing hookers.

Also, how many of you actually enjoyed a football game as a child or young teen? Pft. Something smells funny.
