Wow. I hate day one of Mafia.  There is so much baseless crap by EVERYONE.

A new guy is just as likely and more importantly UNLIKELY to have a role as anyone else.  And the same goes for Khush who is just a skilled player with a past and a few enemies.

I get more worried about the lurkers that read the Mafia threads all day, but don't post and are playing behind the scenes...because the truth is we have no idea what is going on with them.

Yeah, I do. I don't trust him. I was a new player once before and I used that to my advantage and was able to win since people didn't know me well.

Even though Thatguy was killed, he still won his first game through a mafia victory and then won another two in a row.

When mdm signed up for S-U-P-E-R's game, he was a new player and was mafia and nearly got away with a victory.

DrewMG's first mafia game was StarFox mafia. He had one of the two townies roles in that game. The doctor. The second game he played, was the Charlie Brown mafia and he was Mafia.

Athrun Zala's first mafia game, he had a role.

Mafia X: BigJim was new, he was mafia. Mantidor was new, he was the Magician. ThePerm was new, he was the doctor and won the game. And they all lasted until the end of the game.

These are just some examples I can think of off the top of my head. Now I know it is true that not every new person ends up with a role. But it still happens a lot. And because they are new, the new player is often able to get to the endgame. If they can get that far and have a role, that could tip the balance of the game at it's crucial point. Becuase of that, it's worth stopping to think about it and maybe change the game up by voting for them now.

Dear God.  Please tell me you had to look all that up and you don't just have it memorized.

I know a slightly less than arbitrary bandwagon against Khush a bad thing, but is one against EasyCure any better?  Khush is a power player, and while he could be playing us by telling us things we already (sorta) know, throwing  someone else in to the fire might not be the best thing.

Alright, I confess. I looked up the Mafia X information. But not the rest.  You don't become a power player by forgetting strategy.

Seriously? We're going to start playing the girl sleepover rules? Don't hurt the new guys feelings. Everybody love one another. Bullying is wrong.

This is all my fault. I'd always make a big point about killing the new guy and I guess I've finally changed everybody's opinion so that they won't vote for him. Not one person. So, you're going to let the new guy live and die instead? Alright. More power to you. But I say it's time to bring some ruthlessness back.


Last game, my mafia consisted of two people who had only played one mafia game previously and GoldenPheonix who kept getting early deaths. Then there was Toruresu who people didn't talk to. I led that band to victory and I did so while keeping a lot of supposedly good people alive. Vudu, NickMitch, Pale, Dasmos, Thatguy (until Day 3). Heck, even stevey who kept gunning for me I kept alive. Of course, it helped that you killed RABicle, another good player and the cop. For that I am forever grateful. So, yes, let's kill another good player on Day 1. That worked out good last game. So, much so, that you don't want to vote out a newer player.

So, yes, I'm calling you out. All the pro's in this game, you'd think you have something to prove after last game. Maybe help your reputation again after last game. Gain that elite status once more. Like I told my mafia mates, I wasn't just going to lead them to a victory. I was going to do it and prove I am the best. To prove you are the best, you have to beat the best. And you beat them, not by eliminating them early. Any player can do that. You do it by letting them play and then still beating them at their own game. By thwarting their strategy with your own. That is a true measure of a player.

And so I lay down the gauntlet. Are you with me? Will you rise to the challenge? Or are you going to stay meek sheep and pray that you win by luck instead of taking destiny in your hand and throttling it to do your bidding? I know what my answer is.

Yes, yes and yes. It doesn't change the fact that I still get the gold medal. Best of all, I do it with less effort, against weaker competition and under less scrutiny and pressure compared to the "regular" Olympics. I think that's smarter.
