The Nintendo World Report E3 2015 Prediction Contest
« on: June 08, 2015, 02:08:00 PM »

If you can predict the completely unpredictable, you'll win a selection of wonderful prizes.

http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/sitenews/40399/the-nintendo-world-report-e3-2015-prediction-contest

UPDATE: It is now 11:00 Eastern on Saturday, and the entries have been assembled. The form has been taken down. Good luck to everyone who entered... even the guy who picked Black Ops 3 Wii U with Amiibo support. The list of entries is in the Talkback below!

We are... oh sweet Arceus, a week out... from the biggest Nintendo news week of the year, and aside from a few vague ideas we have no idea what will happen at the show. What major Wii U game will get announced? Will Nintendo jump in to publish more SquareEnix games? Why is Reggie wearing a Birdo pin?

But if you can predict what happens at E3, you might win a menagerie of fantastic prizes, including something that sold out in under a minute on Amazon ten days ago.

How Do We Send The Predictions?

(There was a form here. It's gone now.) You’ll be asked to rank six predictions in how confident you are they’ll happen (6 is a Treehouse Live will happen, 1 is Nintendo buying Sony) and give three unscored predictions as well.

The person who has the most correct predictions will win the prize. Should there be a tie, the tiebreakers will be who was more confident in their guesses, then the most unscored predictions correct. After that, we’ll proceed to the dreaded drawing of lots. (Please note: Nintendo World Report staff will judge the entries, and all decisions are final. Limit 1 entry per person, no geographic restrictions on entry but if you're requesting shipment outside of North America there is going to be a significant delay in arrival.)

Here’s a sample ballot:

  • Name: Donald
  • 6 Point Prediction: Pokken Fighters will be announced for Wii U
  • 5 Point Prediction: At least one Wii U game will be revealed in the press kit or on the Nintendo Youtube channel
  • 4 Point Prediction: The Lucas Amiibo will be announced to come with a download code for Mother 3 on the eShop
  • 3 Point Prediction: Xenoblade Chronicles X will be confirmed for an October release
  • 2 Point Prediction: Project Treasure will launch immediately following the digital event
  • 1 Point Prediction: Beyond Good And Evil 2 will be a Wii U exclusive announced at the Ubisoft conference
  • Animal Crossing Wii U will interact with Happy Home Designer
  • Reggie will leak Fire Emblem if’s release date to Neal Ronaghan during a Runbow demo
  • At least five minutes of the digital event will be taken up by Splatoon updates
  • Best Way To Contact You: Twitter (options are email, Twitter, or NWR forum PM)
  • Contact Name: @DonaldMick

So What Do We Win?

The person who is smart enough and lucky enough to emerge victorious will receive a very special prize package, which includes:

  • A Tomodachi Life Frisbee and sunglasses set (in the winner’s choice of three colors for the frisbee and two for the sunglasses)
  • A Super Smash Bros commemorative coin from the E3 2014 Best Buy demo
  • And the grand prize: A brand new Lucina Amiibo.

Entries are due by Saturday, June 13 at 11 p.m. Eastern time to make sure they are all assembled in time for the Smash update video. Good luck, and may the Fox be with you.

I submitted a mixture of wish-list predictions and joke predictions.  I second the request to release some of the best (worst) predictions as a separate article once the contest is over.

My basic plan is to put a link to the predictions (scrubbed of identifying info) once the poll closes and sort of do a deep dive into what you guys are thinking before the Smash event.

Seeing a few trends, for what it's worth.

And here's the entries, with contact info scrubbed.

Seems a lot of you are expecting Star Fox, Amiibo and Mario Maker to be the big ones, as they've got the most predictions.

Favorite ones:
- James Jones in stunner shades (ShyGuy, if those show up on any of the NWR videos this week you get that one)
- Call of Duty Black Ops III for Wii U with Amiibo support
- Destiny on Wii U
- Anyone who picked EA coming back to Wii U

"James Jones will announce he is devoting himself to professional SSB Melee because it is the only pure, right, correct way to play the game and anything else is a complete mockery of what Sakurai intended the game to be."

I can see this happening actually, after all these leaks Sakurai is going to have to find someway to fill a 20 minute presentation.

"Duck Hunt released on Wii U virtual console day of press conference."

Well only time will tell for this one.
