TalkBack / Re: New Nintendo 3DS Models Announced

When was the last time they released a souped up version of their existing line just three years after the original, developing exclusive games and releasing a major game and cult favorite onlynforbsaid system?

Sure, they have done it before with the GBC, GBMicro, and DSi. But the Gameboy Color came out ten years later, the Micro released when the DS was already out for about a year, and the DSi came out six years after the original and DSiWare notwithstanding, had no major release exclusive to the system.

Well, there it is.

Oh, and if you want to rewatch the series legally and for free, Nick.com put all the episodes back up for streaming instead of just season 3 like before. Check it out here:

If you have an Xbox 360, you can download the Nick app and watch them on your TV. On Android or iOS you can also install the app and watch them there.

Quote
The Legend of Korra fans will be pleased to hear the show’s final season is only a few months away with a Nickelodeon representative telling IGN Book 4 will premiere in Australia in January/February 2015.

Nickelodeon also said Season 3 of the show, titled ‘Book Three: Change’, will premiere sometime in October.

Both seasons will screen on Nickelodeon but will also be made available in full on day one through Foxtel Go and Anytime services, with iTunes following shortly after.

Nickelodeon Australia’s decision to distribute the show through multiple platforms is similar to how the latter half of the show’s third season was distributed in the US via Amazon, Xbox Video, Hulu, Google Play and Nickelodeon’s own on-site streaming service, after the show was abruptly taken off-air mid-season.

A few things to note. If it premeires in Jan/Feb in Australia, its safe to assume that it will be out around the same time for the US. So... January release for Book 4 in the US? Even if it won't release then, the torrents of the Australia broadcast will be available. ;)

The other thing I found interesting is that Australia will be getting the episodes on iTunes, while the US and other regions got the other services mentioned in the article. I wonder if you could trick the service into selling those episodes for other regions?

Unlike you guys, I'm not a full grown adult with a relatively steady job. That is the WORST policy for me to have. Just owning the three main consoles would cost me $1050 without tax or any additional retail games or online capabilities.

Well, at least you were kind enough to announce this to everyone. Who wants to take the over/under on Oblivion changing his mind?

What's the line? Six months? Two pricedrops?

That it? Hell, I'll take you up on that bet.

You hit the nail right on the head. I should have realized it but like I said earlier I got lured in by the hardware at the time. But this is certainly the final straw for me.

For my purposes all those tracks as Flacs would be better.

Rip them yourself and there you go. FLACs.

In your opinion they haven't surpassed them. In terms of my taste and opinion, at the very least Sony surpassed them a few years ago.

It seems like DSi, a half step toward the next generation. I'd like to know exactly how much faster the CPU is. I'd love to see current games patched to take advantage of the CPU. Especially games that suffer from poor performance, like Luigi's Mansion 2.

Visually, New 3DS looks pretty appealing -- especially for potential 3DS owners. The OG 3DS was an eyesore right from the start.

Some hackers have figured out it has twice the RAM and 4MB more of VRAM.

I love you Ian Sane. No sarcasm either. I completely agree with every part of your post, for the first time ever.

Multi-console is the way to go. I'm disappointed with the Wii U after 2 years, but I am not about to get rid of it.

I won't mind. I've realized that I don't even care about most of Nintendo's IPs. I really only care about Xenoblade and Smash Bros. If I don't jump ship completely, I'll get on the ship closer to the end of its lifetime.

I said the same thing last gen, so far I been true to my word. Nintendo has a way of winning you back eventually though.

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about. I said the same thing last gen and that went out the window with the 3DS and Wii U. I was hyped up by the hardware and was burned when neither game had anything good for the longest time. Both of them are now collecting dust until Smash Bros. All I keep thinking about is the $1000+ I have spent in the last three years that I completely wasted.

I hope that when they release their next console/handheld, I'm not the first sucker in line like last time.

Making a beloved game ported to the New 3DS, exclusively? A port that runs worse than the original? Instead of an HD remaster on the Wii U? Yeah, "best news" all year.

Shulk's voice is the same. All they did was take the soundbites from the Wii game. Watch the trailer again.

And I don't think it runs very fast either. The GIF I saw made it seem like 15 FPS.

LED TVs are LCD TVs, it's just a different kind of backlight.

No ****. But if the customer doesn't need to know that, then I don't bring it up. It still makes the colors, light, and actual build of the TV different from LCD.

Vizio ain't a no-name brand

And you're really not going see much of a difference in quality simply switching from lcd to led and the same with the resolution at 32 inch.

Going from LCD to LED isn't about image quality, but about colors, light, how the system is built, and the electricity usage. Going from 720 to 1080 IS a difference, however. I used to say the same thing about 32 inch TVs but then I bought another one at 1080 and compared the two in my house and there is a big difference.

**** you nintendo

By the way, this was probably not just to port Xenoblade, but for the eye tracking of the 3D.
