Black Ops is up there and MWIII is not.  Interesting.

Black Ops is a superior game to MW2.00001

I never got why people put down Treyarch as the B-team in Activision's annual Call of Duty master plan. I think they're the ones keeping that series somewhat interesting. All I credit Infinity Ward for is ushering in a generation of cookie-cutter shooters.

They got that reputation from Call of Duty 2: Big Red One, Call of Duty 3, and Call of Duty: World at War. They were the studio charged by Activision to make the Call of Duty games a annual franchise during Infinity Ward's off years. I never played the games mentioned above but they seem to have been better received than I assumed.

I think Treyarch is clearly the better of the two teams at this point, through a combination of their own improvement, as I think most people would argue that each of their entries in the series have been better than their last, and the decline of Infinity Ward, most likely due to all the people they lost in the whole West and Zampella incident. The first Modern Warfare was new and exciting, but IW hasn't really done much beyond iteration since then, and Treyarch continues to push the envelope. Some of the stuff they're talking about for Black Ops 2 actually sounds pretty interesting and innovative.

I haven't played 2 or 3, but WAW was a great game and I think very highly underrated. I know WW2 shooters were done to death at the time it was released and people were sick of that, but it really is the Zenith of the WW2 COD games. There has been none since then, and there has been none that have done it better. This was the ONLY COD game that touched on the pacific theater of WW2. All the other ones just have you fighting the Nazis in Europe, so in that sense it was a refreshing change of pace because you got to touch on a whole other major part of WW2 which hasn't really been explored before or since in an FPS game.

And as far as the multiplayer goes, it is awesome. It remains the only COD to this day that has bayonets which you can use to impale your opponents. Every other COD game just gives you a dinky little knife which is boring in comparison. Also, its the only COD game which has tanks in the multiplayer.

Oh yeah, and you know the super popular COD zombies? WAW was the game which started that? So yeah, it is an awesome game and I think it doesn't get the credit it deserves. I think its mainly because of the WW2 setting. Kids today have no appreciation for history. They want modern and futuristic **** with robots and computers. Well, in Black Ops 2 Treyarch will be giving that to them... but for me personally I think its time for the series to go back to WW2. At that time WW2 games were beaten to death, but that was 5 years ago. I think enough time has past that they could go back to that now..... Actually, if anything the modern warfare games are whats getting repetitive and overdone these days.

@Chozo, I agree WWII needs another shot

Or how about going to WWI. Trench warfare, old-timey guns, bayonets, horses vs. early tanks, chemical warfare, fighting on maps of old-timey European cities, assassinating Archdukes in carriages.
Could be fun.

You can, it's on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network as Call of Duty Classic. Or did you mean the first console one (Call of Duty: Finest Hour)?

COD Classic may appear on the Wii U's digital download service. I would recommend saving your money and getting it on that if/when it ever does. Actually, ALL of the COD games might eventually appear as downloads on the Wii U. Many of them already do on the PS360. Why wouldn't Activision bring them to Wii U as well? Its nothing but cash in their pocket. Even old COD games have long legs and still sell well (as evident by the fact Black Ops is still on the charts, and even kicking MW3's younger ass).

Just to give perspective, I believe that MW3 has sold more copies at this point, but it looks like BlOps has the legs to go back passed MW3 eventually.  In a year, I wouldn't be surprised to see MW3 cheaper than BlOps.

I say go for a Call of Duty 1 and United Offensive bundle on Steam. To my knowledge, the United Offensive expansion pack is not available on consoles. UO has a wonderful single-player campaign that I think is superior to Call of Duty 1's. Actually, it is my favorite Call of Duty single-player campaign. However, it has been some time since I've played UO and I worry that time has not been kind to it.

Oh, and the team that made UO were eventually merged in to Treyarch.

With the way it's going, I'm pretty sure the 3DS will surpass the lifetime sales of the PS3 before the year is out and definitely surpass the Wii's lifetime sales before next year is done, especially with the Wii U coming out.

Here's a question I wonder about.  Will the Wii U surpass the lifetime sales of the Vita before 2012 is done?  Will Nintendo produce enough units for Japan for this to even be possible?

Possible, but I am doubtful it will do it that fast. Assuming PS Vita only sold 10K a week, it would be at 1.1 million by the end of the year. Wii sold about 989K in 2006 (it released in Japan on December 2). So Wii U could possible do it.

Nintendo has been quietly producing Wii U systems since 2011 so I'm sure in terms of supply they have enough. But they might want to milk it out with artificial shortages just like they did with the Wii in its first couple years on the market. The more sold out something is, the more it fuels the demand. People want what they can't have.

I don't think that's the case. The rumors are that they've been tweaking the hardware all the way right up into Summer, and that the actual full Wii U machines are only getting fully assembled now.

I agree with Kairon, I highly doubt Nintendo have been producing the Wii U since last years. We have plenty of rumours from developers that Nintendo have been constantly tweaking the dev kits. Also what's the point of starting production a year before launch? It doesn't make business sense.
