They should have made this like Wii Play, add some co op gamepad gameplay and bundle it with the gamepad.

I still don't see the similarities between an Ipad and the Gamepad besides both sporting a touchscreen. One is a multimedia device and the other is a controller.

Apparently, Silicon Knights was working on Eternal Darkness 2 at the same time as X-Men Destiny and Denis Dyack is kind of a dick

This article is mostly about X-Men Destiny's troubled development. The juicy bit is that SK was secretly working on a ED2 demo to pitch to publishers. I thought the basic understanding was that Silicon Knights couldn't make a sequel without Nintendo since Nintendo shared the rights to the IP if not owned it outright. If this article is to be believed, it looks like SK may hold those rights.

Nintendo outright owns the Eternal Darkness IP. They were probably working on a pitch for Nintendo and if Nintendo turned it down they would have pitched it to third party publishers as a "Spiritual Successor to Eternal Darkness".

Well i'm pretty sure Kamiya said on twitter he wanted to work with Capcom again. . . .

Doubt it, the co founder of Vigil and the creator of Darksiders left Vigil. The series is basically dead now.

Didn't Xseed say they were happy with sales? So I doubt it was a complete bomb.

Until Nintendo offers retail games at a discount cost digitally, there really is no good reason to buy them digitally.

But I wouldn't expect to see all games offered digitally for 3DS or Wii U for awhile, because Nintendo is slow with this type of thing.

Um didn't Nintendo already declare that every Nintendo published title from now on will be available digital on release day? I believe this extends to Wii U as well. People love to cultivate the "Nintendo is behind the times" cliche I guess.

Pro Evo is going down the gutter, sales are down even in Japan where traditionally it has been a huge title.

I'm surprised at how poorly it sold,THQ didn't do a bad job advertising it and people were talking about it. It had much more hype behind it than the first game.

We can't be sure whether it's a financial failure though. It could have made a small profit, but not one big enough to justify a sequel. THQ can really only green light games now that are sure successes.

Well its main competition is probably Ubisoft shovelware in the form of the Imagine series. Of course this is going to be the best fashion game, it's probably the only one with a decent budget behind it.

Where have you been? Day Z hit the mainstream video game circles about at least 3 months ago. There's even been a knock off F2P game announced (War Z) About time there was a thread on this forum though.

It's also co developed with Banpresto. It's not wholly a Monolith Soft Game.

Maybe when we finally get an account feature.

It's a pretty big technical achievement Nintendo has pulled off by creating the Gamepad with minimal latency issues. One of the main reasons why a Vita/PS3 combo can never compare to it.

I'm sure Retro would do a great job with Metroid again, but they're arguably Nintendo's best development studio, and I want to see them do something they haven't done already. Ideally their own brand new project, but if it has to be an existing Nintendo franchise I want it to be something new to them.

The gritty survival horror reboot of Ice Climbers will finally be realized.

Personally I have a feeling they are working on a new IP.

I'm still very disappointed that the PAL release won't have the English VA. It's looking like a worthwhile game though.

I believe it is an average game going by reviews. It has a 68 metacritic. I believe the general consensus was that it was better than the last couple of Spiderman games but 2 (Or was it 1) is the better game.

Looks like Activision has decided to port most of their games to the Wii U. I guess it's still better than EA's support. I'm still very surprised that Ubisoft is arguably the third party that is supporting the Wii U the most.

360 sold 45 more systems this week than the Wii.  Quite impressive I think.  It'll drop back down next week with not RE6 to help it out.
That's crazy, I think this is the first time that the Xbox 360 has ever outsold the Wii.

Is it safe to claim the Wii is dead without it being an overreaction or sarcasm?

The Wii has been on life support since the start of the year. DQX and to a lesser extent Kirby Dream Collection was the Wii's final hurrah. The next Taiko drum game might give it a small boost but it's probably going to stay at around 5k per week (Does 5k a week classify as dead) until the Wii U releases and it will probably completely die. It really depends on if Nintendo stops production or continues to supply retailers with stock. If they expanded their Nintendo Selects line to most notable first party games the Wii probably could live on for another year or two. Sadly it doesn't look like they'll do that.

I was under the assumption that you can use the circle pad for Mario 64 DS if you play it on the 3DS. Doesn't the circle pad also work as a d-pad in DS mode?

Apparently Mario 64 DS has now sold 5 million units in the US. Mario 64 sold 6 million in the US. Pretty surprising for a remake.

The game looks good, but I'm afraid it would be yet another RPG I buy then wouldn't play. While we're at it, let's try to get Beyond the Labrynth localized. I had no idea that the game came out in Japan earlier this year. I also have no idea what the game is about other than it's reminiscent of Ico and sure does look pretty.

I don't think we want Beyond the Labyrinth. From all reports it's a mediocre title and I'm pretty sure it bombed in Japan.

Thanks for the info Azeke. It's interesting that there is demand for Nintendo consoles in markets that they have historically ignored. Perhaps they are finally going to give a serious effort in expanding to growing markets such as India and China.

Haven't the trailers shown off motion controls? I seem to remember having to shake the gamepad to knock Zombies off you.

What I really hate is how PC elitist gamers consider themselves to be the only "true" gamers, like they're all part of some exclusive club. There's no such thing as a "true gamer". Gaming is for everyone enjoys it, regardless of whether they're casual players or mainstream "core" gamers.

I guess film critics are the only ones who truly appreciate movies, or painting is the only "true" art. See how ridiculous that sounds?

It's called the "Master Race" apparently.

Yeah Iwata said that earlier this year http://www.pocketgamer.co.uk/r/Multiformat/Nintendo+news/news.asp?c=40568
